The Beauty of a Meek and Quiet Spirit by Bishop Keith A. Butler

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

1 Peter 3:4

In God’s sight, a woman’s attitude, her meek and quiet spirit, is extremely valuable. Single men, here is the most important thing you need to evaluate in a woman. It’s not the curves in her legs, her hairstyle, her eye or skin color, her walk, or how she dresses-it’s her attitude that really matters.

One reason it’s so important to look at a woman’s attitude or her character is that her outward characteristics will change. She can work hard to make herself look as good as she can, but she will get older, just as you will. She will…

“Good” People by Greg Laurie

Not long ago I was a guest on a morning television show. We were having a nice chat when, near the end of the program, the host dropped a bombshell. He said, “Greg, I have a question for you. You believe that most of the world is non-Christian and that because of that, they are going to burn in hell for all eternity. What kind of loving God would ever create such a scenario? Is that like a petty boss that some people have created, not understanding God?”

I had about two minutes to respond to that question. But after the show ended and the cameras stopped rolling, our conversation continued. He went on to ask me about good people and how…

Abba Father

You received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba,” Father.

Romans 8:15, NIV

What makes you and I think we can do without a personal prayer life? It’s through prayer that we come into a personal, intimate relationship with our heavenly Father.

Do you long to have a closer relationship with God, but you don’t feel worthy? Are you convinced you are a nobody and therefore would never be accepted, much less welcomed, into His presence?

Praise God! Our entrance into His presence is not based on our own worthiness but on the worthiness of Jesus Christ! When we enter God’s presence in Jesus’ name, we are as accepted by God as Jesus is, because God counts us as His own dear children!

Jesus invites you and I, in His name, to come into His Father’s presence through prayer, crawl up into…

When we rest in the Lord

When we rest in the Lord

Don’t Sweat It, Rest!

Ruth 3:18

18Then she said, “Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter will turn out; for the man will not rest until he has concluded the matter this day.”

God does not want you to “sweat”. Sweat here does not refer to your body’s perspiration, but your self-reliance or self-effort. God does not want you to believe that if you don’t do anything, nothing will happen. That may be true for someone without God in his life, but it is not true for you because you have God. And when He is in the picture, the God-factor changes everything!

When you are resting in God, He works for you. In fact, when He works, you end up with more. He is the one who is giving to you. It is…

God is faithful to do what He says

God is faithful to do what He says

The Time Will Come
“And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she
should be delivered.”
Luke 2:6 (KJV)
As Mary readied herself to deliver Jesus, she probably continued to ponder the things
that God had spoken to her.  You may also be rehearsing God’s Words spoken to you
as you wait for them to come to pass in your life.  God is faithful to do what He
says.
Stay hooked up to God, so when the time comes you will be ready. That means you
will have to go the distance and endure the changes that will take place within
you.  No matter what, your expectation has to remain constant.  When the days are
accomplished, the things that have been promised to you will come…

Judges 6. Gideon called to service

1 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. 2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds. 3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them; 4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass. 5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without…

God is present everywhere. God Is Our true security

This is My command—be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
(Joshua 1:9)

At times this life can be very lonely and terrifying. We may have many friends, relatives, or a loving spouse, but ultimately we still must face our problems on our own. No one can take our place. No one can be with us at all times. No one, except for One—God! He is present everywhere.

Because God is always present, we never have to wonder first thing in the morning: Is God here in this room, and is He willing to start the day with me? We do not have to ask ourselves: Will God be with me tonight—even when I’m asleep? We never have to worry: Will God be with me tomorrow when I…

1 Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley. 2 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. 3 Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoeveris fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. 4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too

Let’s give Him glory, let’s give Him honor, let’s give Him adoration, He is worthy to be praised, bless His holy name, bless Him especially for our children.

Give Him glory for their laughter; give Him glory for the noise that children bring into homes.

Praise Him for the excitement of these little ones, bless His holy name.

Let’s give God all the glory, all the honor, all the adoration, for all the wonderful children He has given unto us.

He is worthy to be praised, He is worthy to be adored, bless His holy name.

Judges 8. Gideon conquers Midian’s kings. The final defeat of the midianites

1 And the men of Ephraim said unto him, Why hast thou served us thus, that thou calledst us not, when thou wentest to fight with the Midianites? And they did chide with him sharply. 2 And he said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer? 3 God hath delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had said that.

4 And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them. 5 And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give…

A Muslim Boy’s Journey to Christ.

By The Voice of the MartyrsCanada

Faith

Imagine what it would be like if your decision to follow Jesus made you an outcast from your family and even a target for death.

That’s what happened to a man named Abdu. But the power of love broke down the barriers and brought him and his family back together.

These days Abdu and his father, Suleman, spend time praying and studying the Bible together. Some might call that a miracle since the two did not speak for nearly 20 years.

In fact, Abdu’s father once tried to kill him. Why? Because at the age of 16 he decided to leave Islam and follow Jesus.

An Unexpected Visit

The young man’s journey of faith began with an unexpected visit.

“I was sleeping and Jesus woke me up, and it was like a dream or revelation,”…

4 And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel. 5 And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:…
