Ten tips for examination success

1. Plan your time in the examination. Find out the allocation of marks per question and assign the appropriate time.

1. Read through the whole paper before beginning.

1. Attempt to answer all the questions you should. Use bullet points if you run out of time.

1. Do not spend too long on any question – you cannot get more than the allocated marks.

1. Structure your answer – headings and main points.

1. State the “Obvious” facts.

1. Remember the examiner’s terms.

1. Answer your “best” question first.

1. Answer the question set – not the one you wanted set.

1. Be prepared – not lucky.
