Leviticus 2. Grain offerings

1 And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon: 2 And he shall bring it to Aaron’s sons the priests: and he shall take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD: 3 And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire. 4 And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil. 5 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in a pan, it shall be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil. 6 Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it is a meat offering. 7 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall be made of fine flour with oil. 8 And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the LORD: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto the altar. 9 And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD. 10 And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.

11 No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made by fire. 12 As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them unto the LORD: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour. 13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt. 14 And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the LORD, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears. 15 And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meat offering. 16 And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Leviticus 1.  Sacrifices burnt whole. The burnt offering

1 And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.

3 If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD. 4 And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him. 5 And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron‘s sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 6 And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces. 7 And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire: 8 And the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar: 9 But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

10 And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish. 11 And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar. 12 And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar: 13 But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD. 14 And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons. 15 And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar: 16 And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes: 17 And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

How do we know the difference between the flesh and the Holy Spirit within us?

Dove of the Holy Spirit (ca. 1660, alabaster, ...

How do we know the difference between the flesh and the Holy Spirit within us?

“I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please” (Galatians 5:16-17).

The very Spirit of God has taken up residence in our lives if we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior. God wants to express His mind, His thoughts, His desires, and His will through our mortal bodies. But for us to see this happen, we need to be under the Holy Spirit’s control.

While this is taking place, we are going to experience conflict within ourselves. This is one way we can know we are Christians. If we have no battles raging within, we are probably not saved. There is no opposition within us. God says the flesh and the Spirit are total opposites; they are not going to get along with each other at all.

How do we know the difference between the flesh and the Holy Spirit within us? The Spirit will want to please God, and the flesh will want to please ourselves.

That’s why the war going on inside of us is good, not bad. Most of us feel guilty about having such a battle. Of course, we may not like the feeling, but the two laws operating in our bodies should give us occasion to praise God.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Isn’t it true that life can be crazy?

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Isn’t it true that life can be crazy?

Isn’t it true that life can be crazy? Driving down the freeway can be crazy. Dealing with your family can be crazy. The people you run into at the office can be crazy. If you have kids, maybe they’re driving you a little crazy! There is no denying it…life is crazy.

Have you ever wondered, though, why that is? Why do we have this bent toward craziness in our world, in our relationships, and even in our own lives? It all comes down to a simple, yet potent reality:

Sanity left the world when sin entered the human equation.

In the face of all the craziness around you,

God has a powerful plan for your life.

So as you look around your world and think, “Am I the only one who hasn’t taken crazy pills?” remember that you can be equipped to change the tide of the craziness around you!

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Be Filled With The Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit Stained Glass

Be Filled With The Holy Spirit

“Do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord (Ephesians 5:18-19).

Jesus tells His disciples that the Holy Spirit “abides with you and will be in you” (John 14:17). But how do we engage this personal Helper? How does His power become real for us?

We are to become filled with the Spirit; another way to express this is to be full of Him. When a person drinks too much liquor, they become intoxicated. When a person is drunk, they are under the influence of the drink. The alcohol dictates the agenda. They don’t get drunk by looking at the liquor or talking about it. They drink it. The more they drink, the more drunk they get.

God tells us that it is like that with the Holy Spirit. To see the Helper develop us, He must have control. We must come under the influence of the Holy Spirit. We must become full of Him. So how do we drink the Holy Spirit?

Remember, the Holy Spirit is a spirit, not a being we can see. He functions in the spiritual world, so that’s what we drink—Spiritual Worship. The Holy Spirit fills up the environment that is filled with worship—songs, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with our hearts to the Lord.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Betrayal and Forgiveness!

Betrayal and Forgiveness!

Spend any amount of time and have any kind of interaction with people, and you’ll experience something we’re all too familiar with: betrayal.

Everyone deals with it. We’ve either been betrayed or we will be betrayed. And we know the feeling it leaves in our lives and on our souls—a bitter feeling of resentment, anger and hurt.

But is it possible to overcome the devastating effects of betrayal and experience phenomenal outcomes?

The answer is a resounding, “Yes!” And it all comes down to forgiveness.

But we all know that one of the most difficult things to do is forgive someone who has hurt us. We want that person to pay for what they did. But here’s the thing. Your responsibility and mine is not to make them pay. Our responsibility is to follow God’s lead when it comes to forgiveness. The Bible clearly tells us:

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37

The relationship between forgiveness and betrayal might seem obvious. But the underlying power of these two can lead to a life that is so much more than you ever imagined!

Though betrayal can break us down, God intends to use it to break us through to a new level of living!

And through forgiveness, we can experience the power of freedom in every area of life!

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Insult (In –Salt) Sermon

TEXT: Proverbs 12:16

“A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult”

USES OF SALT

For Seasoning

For Preservation

For healing of wounds

In the old testament for sacrifice – Lev 2:13

The Bible says in Matthew 5:13A

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men”

EXAMPLES IN THE BIBLE

  • King Saul. 1 Samuel 1:6-7 (Let Your actions speak for you! Choose to ignore! God will raise Helpers for you!)

  • Hannanh – 1 Samuel 1:6-7 (Let It Provoke You To Action)

The 1st human reaction to insults is to retaliate. Insult them back, your flesh wants to do this.

But this is not the Christ way.

1 Peter 2:20-23 says “For what credit is there if you endure the beating you deserve for having done wrong? But if you endure suffering even when you have done right, God will bless you  for Christ Himself suffered for you and left you an example, so that you would follow in His steps.

He committed no sin, and no one ever heard a lie come from His lips.

When He was insulted, He did not answer back with an insult; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but placed His hopes in God, the Righteous Judge.”

Solders mocked Him when they put the crown thorn on His head. One of the thieves crucified by His side made fun of Him.

Passerbys shook their heads at Him in disgust as they hurled insults at Him.

He never retaliated. He did not even make threats.

Instead of making threats, Our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ said in Luke 23:34Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.

Even when He was arrested in Matthew 26:52 He said “Don’t you know that I could call on my Father for help, and at once He would send me more than twelve armies of angels?” (80,000angels)

  • Remember nobody can hurt you without your permission.

  • Remember nothing will be gained by getting all frustrated and bitter! Proverbs 12:6 says “ A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.”

  • Lastly, remember that there will always be somebody who adores everything about you and says only nice things about you, and someone who hates everything about you and has nothing nice to say about you!
  • The truth lies somewhere in the middle!

Exodus 40. The Tabernacle finished. Setting up and dedicating the Tent of the LORD’s presence

Exodus 40. The Tabernacle finished. Setting up and dedicating the Tent of the LORD’s presence

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation. 3 And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the veil. 4 And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof. 5 And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle. 6 And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation. 7 And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein. 8 And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate. 9 And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy. 10 And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy. 11 And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it. 12 And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water. 13 And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office. 14 And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats: 15 And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.

16 Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he. 17 And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up. 18 And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars. 19 And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses. 20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark: 21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the veil of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses. 22 And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the veil. 23 And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses. 24 And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward. 25 And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses. 26 And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation before the veil: 27 And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as the LORD commanded Moses. 28 And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle. 29 And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses. 30 And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal. 31 And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat: 32 When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses. 33 And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.

34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: 37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up. 38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
