Heavenly Conscious.
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 3:20, NASB
Early one morning, the Lord spoke this reminder to my heart: “Live unsettled. Don’t sink too deep into the soil of this earth. Keep your head up and your feet moving. Stay alert. Be sober. I am coming. Loose yourself of any ties that bind. If you don’t loose yourself, I’ll help loose you. Prepare the way in your own heart and then help prepare the way in others. I want no obstacles. I will return for a ‘pilgrim’ people.”
To live “Heavenly Conscious” doesn’t mean to act as if the things of this world don’t exist. Rather, as the anointed theologian Phillip Doddridge (1702-1751) conveyed, it means to live with heaven—and this world—in proper perspective.
Since heaven is our country, let us be careful to live like those who belong to such a country. Let us behave like citizens of heaven, remembering that while we are in this world, we travel in a strange land and are at a distance from our home. Therefore, let’s not be too affected with anything in this land. Let us not be overly preoccupied with the entertainment or be too dejected with the disappointments during our pilgrimage on this earth. But let us be in constant remembrance of our happy dwelling in that glorious country. Let all the actions of our life have a tendency toward it. Let us advance along with the greatest vigour and cheerfulness as we endeavour to form an acquaintance with it.
May God Bless Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!
May The Grace The Lord Jesus Christ, And The Love Of God, And The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit Be With You All. Amen!
