TEXT: 2 Corinthians 5:17

INTRODUCTION:  How can one be born again and thereafter live the new life successfully? This is the question we shall attempt to answer today.

HOW CAN ONE BE BORN AGAIN?

1.       Acknowledge that you are a sinner: Romans 3:23; Luke 18:13; Psalm 51:5.

2.       Sincerely repent of your sin: Acts 3:19; Luke 13:3.

3.       Confess your sins to God: 1 John 1:9.

4.       Forsake or turn away from your old sinful way: Isaiah 55:7; Proverbs 28:13.

5.       Believe Him and the sacrifice of substitution: John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:21.

6.       Receive Him into your heart by faith.

7.       Thank God for saving you: John 1:11-12; Ephesians 2:8

HOW CAN I LIVE THE NEW LIFE SUCCESSFULLY?

1.       Witnessing Christ to others: Mark 16:15; Matthew 5:14-15

2.       Total submission to Christ: James 4:7,8,10.

3.       Prayer and constant fellowship with the brethren: Hebrews 10:25; 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

4.       Give yourself to the study of the Word: 1 Peter 2:2; 2 Timothy 2:15.

 

CONCLUSION: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and sup with him, and he with me” Revelations 3:20. This is the accepted time. This is the day of salvation.
