Anger And Malice

Anger And Malice

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.’ Roman 8:13

As children of God, the Bible enjoins us to note and do away with the practices of the flesh which are clearly contending against God’s spirit in us. Among such things is malice. You are in church and you won’t talk to others because they offended you in times past, and you want to make heaven. Some people, for six months, are still keeping malice. How can you be a believer, you are touching the communion table yet you are keeping malice against somebody.

The Bible says be angry but sin not. Yes you will get angry with another person because you are human but He said you should settle it. So many of us have misunderstood spirituality. We think it is speaking in tongues. Don’t think that when we come to church and before the choir begins to sing, you are already speaking in tongues, that is spirituality. No it is not. It is not about speaking in tongues, it is about your lifestyle.

The same thing with anger or rage. Once you are angry you destroy everything in the house, including what you laboured to get over the years. Anger is temporary insanity. You cannot be called a matured Christian until you can deal with these things and live above them. Like my friend will say, when offences come, you must learn to put it under the blood.

When you get angered either by your parents or anybody else, simply walk away. Pray about it and get over it as fast as possible. Anger can make a child kill the parents. Anger can make you destroy all you worked for over the years. Anger is bad, don’t excuse it. Walk away from malice, bitterness and all works of the devil. Decide to be different and let the love of God flow through you. I pray today that you will always find grace to live above the desires of the flesh.
