White as Snow

“Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.”
Isaiah 1:18

Have you ever tried to remove red fruit juice or a dark stain from a white piece of clothing?

If it is not removed, the garment is forever discoloured. You can try bleach, but it doesn’t always work and can ruin some fabrics. You can try other methods but chances are you will not be able to restore the fabric to its original condition. That’s what our lives are like when we live in sin and ignore the Spirit’s guidance and become stained by sin.

Even a small spot ruins the material and leaves the garment unwearable. No matter how we look at it, the garment is stained. We are that garment, and God sent His only Son to wipe away the stains and make us clean once more.

God wiped away all our “stains” when He sent Christ Jesus to make us white as snow-new, clean “garments” for Him. The cross is the symbol of our eternal redemption.

Even though we don’t deserve it, God chose to save us and wash us clean by the blood of Jesus Christ. He died because He loves us!
