Tribulation
2 Corinthians 4:17 says: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
Tribulation comes to separate us from the love of God. It comes to steal hope from our heart, discourage and disappoint us, and make us confused and downcast. But we see tribulation for what it is – light and for a moment – it can work for us. In other words, what the devil throws at us can be become a great turn around that will help us.
Here’s how it works. When tribulation comes, it brings pressure. When pressure is exerted, it causes us to look at and judge ourselves. In these times of judgment we discover things that are weak in us – things that need to be changed like attitudes, confessions, conversations, or even relationships. Our judgment will cause us to adjust ourselves, and when we get adjusted God will position us for promotion. When we get adjusted, God will uplift us.
It’s amazing but true. Right in the middle of tribulation, if we don’t give up, we can show that we are faithful. We can show that we trust God more than ourselves. The devil can’t stand this. He can’t stand that what he meant for evil God can turn around for our good.
God can help you, promote you, and lift you up right in the midst of tribulation. So, stand fast. Be faithful. Don’t waver. God is watching, and God is helping you.
