This Is The Day The Lord Has Made. I Will Rejoice And Be Glad In It.

Psalms_118-24: This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it

Psalms_118-24: This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it

Once upon a time, the Bible records that David took his army to fight on the side of the Philistines and before they came back the Amalekites had raided their entire camp, took away their wives, children and everything they had and it seemed all hope was lost. When David was in this situation the scripture says even his own turned against him, and he cried and cried until there was no more tears. There is nothing wrong in crying, it is not an act of faith when something happens and you say I won’t cry. You are a human being, don’t be ashamed of crying, even Jesus wept. It is not an act of faithlessness when you cry and it does not make you any less a man. When you have people you truly love and they misbehave or are greatly afflicted, you may cry like Jesus did for Lazarus, but issue is after the tears, what else? David cried and then he encouraged himself and got up. In other words spoke to himself. Child of God, I want to encourage you, despite today’s challenges never open your mouth to say what the devil is doing.

Psalms_98-4: Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Thank You Jesus

Psalms_98-4: Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise .Thank You Jesus

Don’t give him the credit for anything that is going on in your life, rather wake up every morning and create your environment. Bake your cake, put the candle sticks on them, put some music, blow your candle, dance your dance and eat your cake, drink your soda or your juice and if no one sent you a card, write one for yourself. Sing to yourself in psalms and hymns.

When you wake up in the morning as your feet land on the ground declare: this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Declare that the day answers to you. Declare that you will pursue, overtake and recover all today. Declare that the sun, moon and stars are working on your behalf. Declare that you will go out with joy and be led forth with peace. Decide what your day should be and it will yield to you

Are You Making Memories With Your Children, Dad? Those Moments May Be The Best Times Of Their Lives

Ephesians_6-4: And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord

The Encyclopedia Britannica gives a half page to the accomplishments of Charles Francis Adams, the son of President John Adams. Adams followed the political trail of his father and became a U.S. diplomat to Great Britain. The encyclopedia makes no mention of Charles’ family, but Charles’ diary does.

An entry one day read: “Went fishing with my son today—a day wasted.”

Another diary, that of his son Brook, gives us a different perspective: “Went fishing with my father—the most wonderful day of my life.”

Interesting, isn’t it, how a little boy’s perspective could be so different from his dad’s?

But it’s true of me, too. I can remember tugging and half-pulling my dad out of his favorite chair while he was trying to read the evening newspaper. I wanted to play catch. He usually let me win the tug-of-war, sometimes reluctantly. Those were wonderful evenings.

There were fishing trips with Dad to Canada when I caught a trophy Northern Pike. And another outing to a local lake where he netted a small boy’s catfish—a fish so small that it went through the holes in the net. He always used to kid me about that fish—his laughter still echoes in my mind when I recall that skinny fish slipping through the net.

It’s interesting how the mind can play tricks on us adults. Looking back, those days of vacation and moments of memories are among my most cherished possessions. Yet, when my own kids were at that stage of life where they wanted me in their lives making those kind of memories with them, it seemed to me that playing catch and going fishing were not nearly productive enough—no measurable goal was achieved. Until, of course, I got a few moments to reflect on the value God places on a little boy or a little girl.

Treasured memories

I was reminded recently that not all men today have those memories of time with their dads etched on the slate of their hearts. Jeff Schulte, an associate of mine at FamilyLife, once wrote the following letter to his ministry partners, thanking them for their partnership in strengthening families. It speaks of memories of a different kind.

I can still picture my dad bouncing me on his knee, coaching me in little league, showing me how to shine my shoes, helping me reel in my first fish, and telling me stories about his early days as an undercover detective on the Dayton police force.

I can still hear him saying the words, “Son, I love you.” I can imagine him messing up my hair, wrestling with me on the living room floor, and sharing a hot dog with me at a Cincinnati Reds game.

I can still see him puffing up his chest when he talked about me to his friends. He was proud to be my dad. He would do anything for me—I was his son, he was my dad. I was a chip off the old block.

I can still see all this and much more, but I can’t see it in the reservoir of fond memories. Instead, I recall it from an imagination and yearning that wished then and wishes now that it were so. My dad left home when I was 3. I never really knew him.

When I drive home from the office, I’ll often turn off the radio and in the quiet of the car I’ll think about a little blond-headed 3-year-old somewhere who will grow up knowing his dad because you and I decided we wanted to make a difference.

I’m 26 years old. I still miss my dad (even though that’s hard to admit). I even cry sometimes when I’m honest with myself about how I feel. Please pray for my dad. I don’t believe he’s met Jesus.

The most piercing statement in Jeff’s letter are the words, “I never really knew him.” I couldn’t help reflecting on the number of children today who will replay a similar record in their minds. No, not just those from broken homes, but those whose homes have a father and a mother in name only.

The little boy who went fishing with his dad, Brook Adams, lived most of his life as an agnostic and a skeptic, defying the roots of his Puritan ancestry. Near the end of his 79-year life he returned to his home church, overcame his shyness, and made a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ. I wonder if God used the memory of the fishing trip with his dad, linked with the spiritual values his father taught him, to bring Brook Adams to faith in Christ.

So this month take a kid fishing and teach him one spiritual truth. Just one memory. Just one truth. It may be “the most wonderful day” of his life.

Think Like God, Speak Like God And Walk Like God

Habakkuk_3-19: The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Habakkuk_3-19: The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

“And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth”

Revelation 5:10

Genesis_1-26: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth

Genesis_1-26: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth

God intends for us to reign here on earth. That is His original desire and purpose for us as heirs of salvation. God cannot lie. By law of first mention, in Genesis chapter 2, the bible tells us that God made man in His own image and likeness. In other words, we have the life of God, the Zoe type of life in us. So we ought to function like God. How does God function? He takes charge. He created the heavens and the earth and all that is in it. And when He saw no form and void on the earth. He spoke to it.

Genesis_1-31: And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day

Genesis_1-31: And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day

God is a good God and He gives good things to man. God showed us how to exercise dominion when what He created was void. He took charge by speaking into the situation. He didn’t just watch things go bad, He took charge. You don’t fold your hands and allow the devil run rough shod over you while you are busy calling on God instead of taking charge. You have no business calling on God when you are there. You are His representatives. You have the life and authority of God in you. So whenever you see the devil, you expel him. That is how you take charge.

Genesis_1-3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Genesis_1-3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

God created the world through WORDS. He created the world by the spoken word. The things we see are created from things that do not appear. He upholds all things by the word of His power. If you remove the word of God, the world and everything visible will disintegrate. God’s word is so powerful that it can create and sustain.

Genesis_1-3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Genesis_1-3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

So He created everything by His word and crated man in His own image. Therefore, you are like God. I therefore challenge you to think like God, speak like God and walk like God. Take charge because you are in charge.

Transparency In Love! Being Honest With Each Other Without Fear Of Rejection In Marriage

Genesis_1-27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them

Genesis_1-27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them

The man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. Genesis 2:25

Being “naked” but “not ashamed.” This is why we get married—not just to have sex, but also to become emotionally intimate with another person. We want someone we can be openly transparent with, someone who accepts us, even when we’re being our real selves.

Yet although this is what our souls long for, many couples—especially young couples—hide this need behind the mere act of sexual togetherness. They find having sex easier than opening up to each other spiritually, where the potential for hypocrisy and awkwardness always exists. Sex can be easier than opening up emotionally, letting someone else in on their fears and worries and dreams and deepest feelings.

That’s why, even when the level of sexual intimacy is high in a marriage, the level of real transparency can still be surprisingly low… and subtly debilitating.

We can let sex become a substitute for real relationship—even as husband and wife!

We can be together but not be transparent.

Certainly, transparency isn’t something we achieve overnight. It’s a process—a lifelong process of growing increasingly comfortable being honest with each other without fear of rejection. But it’s what makes marriage a continually richer blessing.

To be in love is good. To be in love and perfectly transparent is as good as it gets.

What have been your greatest obstacles to true transparency? Talk about one of the following: your greatest fear, your most courageous act or your biggest doubt.

PRAY:

Pray for your love to grow into one that more readily reveals and never rejects.

Father to the fatherless

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.

Ephesians_6-4: And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord

Ephesians_6-4: And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord

Each year in our high school the fathers of the graduating class come together for a Father and Son BBQ (which is really code for “life-sized Jenga, cornhole and really good food.”) However, there is also the random possibility that fathers will be encouraged to share their feelings (a rarity), which could lead to some tears. And this year, there was no shortage of tears as each father prayed blessings over his son. The thought occurred to me, “What about the boys without fathers?” It was almost an afterthought, as if someone else should worry about them, but today is about my son and I. That’s when God nudged me…

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” Psalm 68:5

I looked down at our table and realized that my son’s best friend, Kevin, was sitting next to him. I remembered when Kevin’s dad got sick and passed away almost 5 years ago. I also remembered the promise I made to Kevin to be there for him when he missed his dad and during those times when he needed his dad. In that instant I flushed with memories of the past 5 years and the time I had spent pouring into this young man’s life – taking him to movies, vacations, birthday parties, and even giving him his first job. Now here we were at this awkward moment when he needed his dad more than anything.

I stood up and spoke a blessing over my son, and then the Lord impressed on me to pray a prayer of blessing over Kevin as well. These words came out of that moment, “Kevin your dad (Nasser) was a strong, gentle, and kind man, and you have become strong, gentle, and kind just like him, and he is very proud of you.” It was nothing rehearsed and really simple, and yet in that moment Kevin could not hold back the tears. He was a mess, and sure enough so was I. In that moment I was reminded once again of the impact that a father has on his sons. Those words of affirmation are so critical, especially in those pivotal times when they need to be heard. After that blessing I gave Kevin a man-sized hug and just told him over and over that his father loved him and so do I.

My challenge to you, Pastor… Who are the fatherless among you that God has called you to shepherd? Do your words speak life-affirming value to them? Perhaps you can look them in the eyes and remind them that their father is proud of who they have become and that their Heavenly Father loves them very much. You’ll never know the impact that a simple word of life spoken at the right time can have.

One of the greatest tragedies of life is to spend a day without enjoying it – and I mean that in a very wholesome sense.

The devil sees to it that, in the name of goal setting, we spend our days ever aspiring and never pausing to enjoy our attainments and achievements. I have a school mate who is doing very well. After high school we went our different ways. We had a chance re-union 20 years ago and we became quite close thereafter. Nice fellow, if you ask me, but he had never taken a vacation for all the 20 years! Each time I suggest he should take a break he tells me there so much to achieve and that a vacation is a luxury he can ill afford.

This friend typifies most of us who are so focussed on achieving our goals that we forget to enjoy the gift of each day and the blessings that come with it. What a tragic waste!

This is like traveling to a desired destination but missing out on the beautiful sceneries en route.

You are gunning for a degree, appreciate the certificates you already have; you are planning to acquire a posh car, enjoy the bone shaker you now drive around town; your goal is to become the MD/CE of some big conglomerate, why don’t you savour your present status of a manager or even clerk? We could go on about the things we chase after that satan uses to steal the moment’s joy from us and waste our days.

Please don’t get me wrong. You should, definitely, aspire to be great. It is well said that if we don’t grow we decline. However, growing should not be at the expense of today’s joy. There will always be something to wish for: better cars, bigger house, classier neighbourhood, finer wardrobe etc

Ecclesiastes_3-1: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven

Ecclesiastes_3-1: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven

A vacation is not a luxury. We all need it. In fact, for smart people it is not negotiable. My guy, a date with your spouse does not make you a woman wrapper. A hearty laugh, a nice and decent joke with colleagues or neighbours could do your lung and theirs a world of good! Above all, gratitude to God for the very breath of your nostril is wisdom and life’s elixir!

Query whatever you aim for in life. If it is robbing you the joy of the moment, it could be satan’s ploy to waste your days and, consequently, your very life.

Enjoy your journey to the top!

When God Allowed Certain Things In Your Life, It Does Not Mean He Is Weak

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31 (KJV)

What was the end of Pharaoh? He drowned with all his best military hardware and personnel. They drowned in the red sea that God’s people walked through. The enemy that they saw the same day, they saw them no more. You can’t pursue God’s people when you know God will arise to help them. How dare you think you can overwhelm a child of God? When God allowed certain things in your life, it does not mean He is weak. He is simply saying “my child, you can handle it“. When all is said and done, the last testimony belongs to you and all the Glory goes to God Almighty!

Romans_8-38: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Romans_8-38: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

All those against you shall fall for your sake, your mouth will testify. Where others faint, you will stand strong. Your business will blossom. Your children will excel. Your ministry will explode and your testimony will be noised abroad in Jesus name. Your God will show up in your difficulty and show you a way out. You will not be confused. You have overcome. Rejoice because God has remembered you and your life will not be the same again.

Romans_8-1:There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit

Romans_8-1:There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit

There is no margin for failure for a child of God, so be thankful because in Christ we are always victorious. You must always remember that you have no failure material in you. You win always. You may not look like it but don’t ever set your face towards failure. It is an insult to the finished work of redemption. Don’t ever accept failure. If you accept failure then Christ has failed because you are in Christ.

Joshua_1-8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success

Joshua_1-8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success

Christ has done it all. And God sees you in Christ because the price is fully paid. When you therefore say that you are a failure because of a temporal situation, the enemy will be wondering if you know who you are and what Christ has done. In the book of Exodus chapter 14, the enemy drowned because they pursued the people of God. Whatever door that has been shut before you, I command it to be supernaturally opened. The scripture recorded in Joshua 6:1 that Jericho was shut because of the children of Israel, none went in and none could go out. They did not want them to possess what God had given them. It was shut to prevent God’s people from entering but God showed up and proved Himself God. I see God proving Himself in that situation. Every door of hindrance is broken today. Supernaturally, open door is your portion. I bless you today.

Isaiah_41-10: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness

Isaiah_41-10: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)

In Joshua 6:20 the lofty walls of Jericho crashed down before the children of Israel when the people shouted and blew the trumpet as God had instructed them. The walls fell down flat and the people went in to the city, and they took the city. Their period of waiting was over in few days as they obeyed the commandment of the Lord. The Lord will grant you speed this season. There will be acceleration in the fulfilment of your desire. God Himself will handle it. Just let Him be God.

Take a look at Joseph, what was his qualification? In the natural, Joseph was a slave. Slaves don’t own anything as a matter of fact. He was bought as a commodity. But do you know his asset? God was with him. Beloved, God is with you. You are not alone. As I open the newspaper and follow the news, I see human wickedness on the increase and the only hope we have is that God is with His children. He will be your God. He will do supernatural things for His children. Things they took from you, they will beg you to take it back.

Child of God, if God can open up Jericho, He will open up every country land, city, community unto you. Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut (Isaiah 45:1). His plan and purpose for your life will be achieved, you will not be denied. Every door against your promotion is opened today. Every obstacle on the way is broken. Every challenge is rolled away. Your best and brightest days are here. Get ready to celebrate. Men and women of great reputation will be drawn to you. Your lifting has started.

Whitney Houston And Bobby Brown’s Daughter Bobbi Kristina To Be Taken Back Home To Die Peacefully

It’s been four months since Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious in a bathtub, and now reports claim she could be taken home to die peacefully.

The 22-year-old is currently on life support at a rehab facility, with Bobby and the rest of her family remaining by her side and praying for her recovery.

However, she still remains unresponsive and could reportedly have irreversible brain damage.

According to The Mirror, she could now return home to spend her final days in the Georgian townhouse where she was found on January 31 – although it’s not the first time this has been suggested.
