God’s Grace. I Am Living In Fellowship With God Through Christ Jesus

Psalms_84-11: For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?”
Romans 6:1 (KJV)
Oftentimes when people hear the message about God’s grace to His children, it is so good and radical that they ask the questions in our text for today. As a matter of fact, if this line of thought has not crossed your mind, you have never heard the message of grace. Every time the message of grace is preached, people see it as a licence for sin. They are so consumed with the desire to do right that they ask, “Why are you licencing sin by preaching grace?” I have come to answer this question. The message of grace takes the law out of the way and brings you to an unparalleled relationship with God where He alone is the focus.
Paul preached grace in a radical way and the people asked him the same question. However, when you understand grace, you will discover that it does not make you sin more but less. The truth is that if you believe and receive what Jesus Christ did for you when you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, then you will realise that when you were baptised into Him, you were also baptised into everything He did. When Jesus died, He died for and as us (in other words, he died in our stead). When He was buried, He was buried for us and as us (that is, He took our place). And when He rose again, He rose for us and as us (so we also rose). “For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection” (Romans 6:5, KJV). And because He died, sin has no power over Him. Now He lives His life in fellowship with God. In the same manner, you are to think of yourself as dead so far as sin is concerned; you are living in fellowship with God through Christ Jesus.
When you think of your salvation, see yourself in Christ when He hung on the cross. See yourself in Him when He was buried, and see yourself in Him when He rose again from the dead. In Christ Jesus you have dominion over sin. You can only live in this manner when you accept it as true.
