Matthew_5-16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven

There is the need for you to understand that what you see about you as a child of God is very critical to how much of the grace of God you will enjoy. You need to see yourself in the light of God’s word and promises to you. You cannot afford to continue to struggle and be in hardship when grace is available. This is vitally important because your destiny is contingent on what you see about yourself and also how you see the God you serve. You can never rise beyond what you see of yourself. Your vision of yourself will always determine how far you will go; you cannot grow beyond your vision.

The truth is that what you see about your life actually determines what you get because if you can see it, then you can have it. If you can see it, then no force on earth can stop you. The question is: how do you define yourself? Do you define yourself by the contrary events of your life or by the promises of God concerning you? Remember that a single event or temporary set-back does not define you, so learn to forget the things that are past and reach forth to the things that are before you. You have been created by God to fulfill purpose. So, don’t see yourself as a failure.

Child of God, men may have described you by your challenges, they may have called you the jobless man, the unmarried sister, the barren woman, the poor man and so on, but irrespective of what they have called you, I dare you to see a different picture of yourself. Take your eyes off from where you are today and rather focus on God and on where you are going. Begin to see yourself at the altar with your spouse; see yourself as a joyful mother of children; see yourself in that office, see yourself in that new house. Just open your eyes of the spirit and see far, what you see is what you become.
