There is nothing which is hidden from the Almighty God
Acts 5: 1 – 11

God is Spirit and those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. There is nothing which is hidden from the Almighty God because He sees every minute aspect of facts, whether in the open or in the mind. Our immortal God is Omniscient and Omnipotent.

According to Heb 4:13, “Before Him no creature is hidden but all are open and laid bare to the eye of Him with whom we have to do.”

The sin of Ananias and Sapphira was not the keeping away part of the money they got from their property they sold; rather; it was the lie they told against the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3).

Since every hidden thing is open before God, what manner of persons should we be? There is no room for anybody who would be a Christian to be hypocritical or fake what he/she is not. God knows us even more than we know ourselves that we cannot hide from Him. He created us. He is the Porter and we are the clay.

The text is a good lesson for believers who would want to fake spiritually either to impress others or for self ego. The consciousness of the presence of God at all times would help us keep away from sin while endeavouring to fulfil the purpose of our creation: Eccl. 12:13 states:“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man”. We should always remember that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Heb. 10: 31).

MEMORY VERSE:
ACTS 5:3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep part of the proceeds of the land?”

PRAYER:
Holy and faithful God, in whom there is no unrighteousness, search me, and know my heart; try me and know my thought and deliver me from any hidden sin through Christ my Lord. Amen.
