Psalms_89-1-2: I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations
God is a faithful God. God is too faithful to fail us or disappoint us.
Let us pray
Father, we appreciate Your mercy that has not allowed us to be consumed. Thank You for the privilege of seeing another beautiful and wonderful day.
Accept our praises in Jesus name. Amen!
God is a faithful God
Psalm 27:1-2
Join me to sing the song of Moses BLISS which says:
Too Faithful
“You’re too faithful to fail me
You’re too faithful to disappoint me
You’ve proven Yourself in my life
And I’ve come to realize
You’re too faithful to fail me
You’re too faithful to fail me
Oh Jesus
You’re too faithful to disappoint me
You’ve Proven Yourself in my life
And I’ve come to realize
You’re too faithful to fail me
Hey, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah
Oh, dah dah, dah, hey, dah, dah, dah
Yes, we worship
You are, you are, God
You are who You are yesterday
Today (Today and forever more)
(What You say) What You say is what You do
Lord, you never fail
You never fail, You never change, God
You are faithful till the end (Faithful God)
Faithful God
I worship you
I worship you
You’re too faithful to fail me
Yes, You’re too faithful to disappoint me
(You’re too faithful to disappoint me)
Hallelujah
You’ve proven Yourself
You’ve proven Yourself in my life
I’ve come to realize (And I’ve come to realize), yeah
(You’re too faithful to fail me) too faithful
You’re too faithful to fail me, God
(You’re too faithful to fail me)
Lord, you’re too faithful to disappoint me
(You’re too faithful to disappoint me), oh, oh
Oh God
You’ve Proven Yourself
Hallelujah (You’ve Proven yourself in my life)
And I’ve come to realize, hey, hey, hey
You’re too faithful to fail me, yeah, yeah
Oh, oh, You’re too loving to leave me
Cah, sah, bah, bah, bah, dey, too loving
You’re too loving to leave me halfway
What you start, You always finish
But I’ve come to realize
That You’re too loving to leave me
Lord, You’re too loving to leave me
(You’re too loving to leave me)
Too loving, too loving, too loving
(You’re too loving to leave me halfway)
Too loving to leave me halfway
What you start, You always finish
I’ve come to realize (And I’ve come to realize)
(You’re too loving to leave me) yes, ha, ha
You’re too faithful to fail me
(You’re too faithful to fail me)
You are Lord, you are Lord, you are Lord
You’re too faithful to disappoint me
Oh, Jesus
You’ve Proven yourself
(You’ve Proven yourself in my life)
I’ve come to realize (And I’ve come to realize)
(You’re too faithful to fail me) too faithful to fail me
You are too committed to leave me, oh Jesus
You’re too consistent to leave me halfway, yeah
What you start, You always finish
And I’ve come to realize
That You’re too faithful to fail me
What you start
You always finish
Lord, I’m here to testify
You’re too faithful to fail me”
Message
Psalm 27:1 says “The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”
1. The Lord is my light…
Our Father in heaven sent his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the light of the world (John 8:12) so that we that once walked in darkness can see a great light.
God is the light for our path, he is the light of truth, and he is the illumination of our salvation.
2. and my salvation
We do not trust in might or wealth, or any manifestation of our own strength to save us. We surrender to God and put our faith in his perfect Son.
Our ultimate salvation from our sin and from the wrath of God for sin (John 3:36) is reflected in the myriad ways God saves us from harm every day.
3. whom shall I fear?
If the Christian feels afraid, he can be rest assured that his fear is not from God, and is unnecessary.
God is sovereign. Nothing can happen apart from his will and his good plan, and he watches over his children (Psalm 121:5-8), never slumbering (Psalm 121:4).
4. He is the stronghold of my life.
A stronghold is a fortress with high walls. Fortresses can be breached, but if God wills to protect us, he will protect us.
Man can take care to build a fortress and walls, as did David, but he knew that apart from the protection of God, those walls will fall.
5. Of whom shall I be afraid?”
Those who are in Christ and live according to his purposes need to fear nothing and no one.
Psalm 27:2 now testifies to verse 1 as follow:
_When the wicked, [even] mine enemies and my foes, came upon
me
They are wicked men, men of malignant spirits, and evildoers, who are the enemies and foes of the people of God, and who hate them with an implacable hatred, and do everything they can to distress and afflict them; and such enemies David had, who were many and mighty; and these “came upon” him, or “approached against” him, they drew near to him to make war with him, as the word signifies.
They attacked him in an hostile manner; and their view was, as he says,
To Eat Up My Flesh,
as they eat bread, (Psalms 14:4 ) ; to devour him at once, to make but one morsel of him, to destroy his life, to strip him of his substance, to take away his wives and children, as the Amalekites at Ziklag, (1 Samuel 30:1-6) ;
They Stumbled And Fell;
The Lord put stumbling blocks in their way, and retarded their march, and hindered them from executing their designs; and they fell into the hands of David, and were subdued under him, or fell by death; and these past instances of divine goodness the psalmist calls to mind, to keep up his heart and courage, and animate and strengthen him against the fears of men, of death and hell.
Conclusion:
Have you seen the light?
If yes, there is nothing again for you to fear.
If you have not, please reconcile with God now and you will overcome every form of fear.
Let us pray:
- Let’s begin to thank God for sending the light of the world to take us out of darkness.
- Father, whenever fear knocks at the door of my heart, please give me the faith to gather momentum and kick it out in Jesus name.
- Father, as I go out today, don’t let Your presence depart from me and don’t let me depart from your presence in Jesus name.
Good morning brethren and have a wonderful day ahead in Jesus name. Amen.
