According to the Bible love is wanting something good to come to another person; being concerning and willing to work for another person’s benefit. Did the word WORK stick out as you read the definition? It did when I read it too.

Jesus worked so that we could obtain love. He worked for our benefit. Love is an action just like work is an action. So to love like God we might have to put in some work. For some the act of loving comes easy. For others , however, not so much. John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” That’s a heavy load of work right there.
