TIS NOT BY…

Steward's avatarSteward's Blog

Tis not by tongues

Tis not by Rhema

Tis not by position

Neither by title

That which matters

That which is important

That which counts

Is nothing but you

I mean your life

I mean your character

I mean your walk with Christ

And your personal altar

Yes that secret place

Yes your attitude to others

Yes your submission to the spirit

And obedience to Christ

Tongues is just an evidence

Not a proof of existence

Positions are just Complements

Yet they are not the elements

In them you think you have a future

But you’re a broken piece of sculpture

Yea beautiful outside

But stinking inside

The Holy Spirit is the ticket

That brings you out of sin’s thicket

That helps you to live a holy life

And to please the father

He’s the spirit of worship

He’s the spirit of prayer

He’s the spirit of fellowship

Growth is Painful

Alheri's avatarMs Alheri

One wonderful morning in February, after having a beautiful time in devotion and talking to the Lord, I had an interesting thought. I said to the Holy Spirit: “wow, Holy Spirit, I wonder how it would be like if you had a university. What would the courses be like? What would the classes be? How would the students look and what would be the school culture?”

To crown it all, I said “Holy Spirit, please teach me something.” True to God, everytime I’ve said that prayer, there’s been a major event in my life that has caused a huge shift or change.

Most recently, on one of my “Holy Spirit please teach me something days,” I asked the Lord to build my capacity and increase my productivity. I told Him I wanted to perform at 3X my current output level, and that I wanted my hours to count for more.

Calling Home

Woman for Jesus's avatarWoman for Jesus

A few days ago, this overwhelming feeling of being alone just hits me.

I wasn’t alone at all. In fact, I could’ve turned to the left and seen my aunt sitting soundly in her recliner, playing one of her regular fruit smashing games on her phone. And if I would have stood up and walked ten or twelve steps to my right and around a corner, there my aunt’s long time friend would be watching the news like every other day.

I wasn’t alone at all, so why did it feel like I was?

The reason hit me sometime last night while I was reading my daily devotional. It was one about calling on the Lord constantly, whether you’re in trouble or not, and BOOM, right there in front of my eyes was the answer.

I just stopped reading. Realization dawned on me like a solid slap to the…

The Crown

pathofasaint's avatarpathofasaint

2 Timothy 4:8 – King James Version (KJV)

“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

Lovers of truth,
love the truth.
The truth loves
those who keep it.
Loves of truth;
will you fight?
For your crown?
For the truth?
The one truth?

Taken away from this world.

I hear they all ask;
I hear they say.
“why am I here?”
“what is my purpose”

They look for truth,
in all the wrong places.
Truth isn’t found.
They look in the world.

Look beyond,
this world holds no truth.
This world has only lied;
The world.

We, the chosen few,
run away from the world.
For it lies,
we run towards the crown.
James 1:12

We run towards the crown;

Those Little Steps

mistakesandadventuresblog's avatarMistakes & Adventures

You’re trudging through the slop,
Deeper, thicker,
Sideways,
Backwards,
Any way you can,
Just one step,
One little step,
The first is hardest,
Take it,
Chase the dream, your goal,
Do it with a ferocious hunger,
Remember yesterday,
What it was,
Think of tomorrow,
What it will be,
But first,
Get through that shit,
That slough,
The sludge like river before you,
Don’t let your shadow lead the way,
This is your path,
Own it,
Brighter moments follow,
Look to the horizon,
Storms can’t last forever.

Heart Faith

(Neuroscience of Sanctification Series)

Romans 6:17 “But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. “

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”

brain-2146167__340In these verses and many others there is a preeminence given to the heart. The heart actually reigns above understanding or intellect. Just as with our “bowels,” I think that the word “heart” goes beyond metaphor. The reason these terms and “metaphors” exist is because they capture an experience- we feel things in our chest and gut. But I want to spend some time on the notion of heart because there is so much truth to be mined here. So much of our lives and relationships become rote exercises, autopilot experiences, and right or wrong checklists that…

God Moves Mountains!

godslove68's avatarDepression and Faith

joy

Good morning!

Its been so long since I’ve written anything in my journal. Why? Because God has been busy moving mountains. Wow, what a journey I’ve been on.

I just want to say; my mom is amazing and has been such a wonderful support system for me during my time of trials and tribulations. My mom constantly urged me to keep looking to God for all my needs; peace, love, joy, and happiness. Thank you mom for loving me so much and for not letting me give up.

When people say “boy, you seem different” what changed? I often say I found Jesus, but the truth is he was never lost; I was! Thankfully he found me!

Let me tell you something; God has been really busy moving mountains in my life.

Let me back up a bit…….

A few months ago I had a huge set back and fell…

His Word will set you free!

Pastor Lydia's avatarGrace Came Ministry

As you meditate on Bible promises that proclaim God’s truth over your life, you are already beginning to win the battle for your mind. It’s not a coincidence that Jesus was crucified on Golgotha, which actually means “Place of a Skull” (Matt. 27:33). Your breakthrough has to begin in your mind first.

This battle for your mind is not waged externally. Our weapons in this battle are not physical or tangible. Our weapons are the weapons of right believing and they are mighty in God for pulling down strongholds that have kept us bound. These are strongholds that can only be utterly torn down by rightly believing in the truth of God’s Word.

The devil can only sow wrong thoughts in your mind but he cannot control what you believe! When you start to believe right, every lie and wrong thought will melt away like butter on a hot, sunny…

Living the Dream – Part 1

gnarlyshanti's avatarGnarly Shanti

Your shadow becomes very small and holds no particular shape at around noon and Simon was thinking about this as he threw rocks into the sea. Then again, he thought. Your shadow holds no particular shape anyway.  There was a green bottle floating next to a rock which he intended smash. He turned to his friend.

“You know they call Twelve O’clock mid-day, it’s actually pretty early isn’t it…”

Myles shrugged and hurled a stone at the bottle, smashing it. “It’s the morning” he said.

Simon spotted an empty beer can floating a little further out and chucked a handful of stones in its general direction.

“But actually,” Myles continued with a forefinger in the air – “the middle of the night is later than midnight too”.

“True”, nodded Simon. “If they just called midday and midnight Three O’clock it would make sense”.

Simon scratched his neck.  The harbour was…

‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’ is Life.

Neeraja's avatarNeeraja's Blog

‘F.R.I.E.N.D.S’ is life. Why F.R.I.E.N.D.S has been my life?

It was the time when I was living in Mumbai, away from my home town. I have a group of friends whom I made during my training time, June 2018.

They are my friends, family, and well-wishers. We had lots of fun together, had trips to Lonavala, Elephanta Caves, Mumbai Dharshan, and many.

We usually meet at Break out Area for evening coffee and snacks, but only we did was sat together and had long discussions. Here now we were in 2019, and all of my friends have started binge watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I was frustrated that no one were talking but just watching the show on HotStar. I don’t know Phoebe or any other characters. I had nothing to talk with them for few days.

I have no idea why I started watching the show but I did start, but none…

Take Heart, God Is All You Need

faithlovesoul's avatarFAITH | LOVE | SOUL

pexels-photo-744667.jpg

I wonder how many of you have lost heart.  I wonder how many days, weeks, or even years you have felt tired, weary, depressed, discouraged, and ready to give up.   That is exactly what it means to “lose heart.”

If you haven’t experienced this kind of trouble, you will.  It’s inevitable.  No one is exempt!

But friends I’m here to remind you tonight of some good, good news.  God’s beautiful word says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.”  (John 16:33).

Jesus clearly tell us, “take heart.”  If you’ve lost heart, why don’t you make the choice to take it back.

Don’t lose heart throughout your trial.  If you have no one and nothing to look to, keep looking up and stay connected to God.

You never…

Engaging with the Word

Ibon Jackson's avatarIbon Jakuson

Bible prophecy is not limited to the days in which they were spoken. It is not limited because the words written in it came from an infinite Being who is not confined by the boundaries of time.

God is not limited by time, neither is His word. The same word which performed in Genesis performs today – there is power in the word of God. This power is not trapped in an ancient book which is irrelevant for the present time. In fact, the word of God is more relevant now than it ever has been, making it the more necessary for us to tap into what it carries.
