The Tunnel Experience. Hold On To God In All Situations And Circumstances. He Will Never Fail You.

 TEXT: Hebrews 12:1-3 KJV — Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

INTRODUCTION:

A tunnel can be described as an underground passage. It is usually dark, a phase in a journey with little or no room to manoeuvre; while light appears as indication you are approaching the end. Eventually, the tunnel takes us to the other side.

Above, aptly describes current day challenges in Nigeria. The economy is depressed, insecurity abounds as we keep asking when shall the light appear for this “wilderness experience” to be over?

SOME LESSONS AROUND TUNNEL EXPERIENCE.

1. Job went through harrowing experiences but never raised a voice against God; rather he worshipped Him. See Job 1:20-21. Eventually, he saw the light in Job 42:10-12. Hold on to God in all situations and circumstances. He will never fail.

2. Remember the great famine in Samaria as in 2 Kings 6:24-30. God used Elisha in 2 Kings 7:1-20 to redress the situation. That same God will reverse the irreversible in your situation and our economy!

3. Jonah had a tunnel experience as a result of disobedience. He was there for 3 days and 3 nights until the Lord showed him mercy. See Jonah 1:17. That same God will arise for me and you and will show mercy!

4. Our Lord Jesus Christ throughout His betrayal, trials and crucifixion [see our text for today]; still kept the light at the end of the tunnel clearly in view. He paid dearly for our salvation as He passed through tunnel. Today, we are saved because of the blood He shed during that experience. Therefore, by His grace and mercy, we will not lose our salvation in Jesus name, Amen!

PRAYERS/DECLARATIONS….

A. Proverbs 21:31 says, safety is of the Lord. The God that kept us from January to the end of the 1st half of year, will keep us far beyond 2021!

B. Nahum 1:9 … says the Lord will make an utter end of affliction and it will not arise a 2nd time.

Father, in my life, take away anything that does not glorify Your name! Amen!

C. Proverbs 4:18 says the path of the just will shine brighter and brighter unto the perfect day.

Father, keep my lamp burning in righteousness and holiness until that perfect day! Amen!

D. Isaiah 1:19 says if you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land.

Father, in Your mercy, bless me with the good of the land!

E. Romans 9:15-16 talks about God’s mercy and compassion.

Father, please have mercy on Nigeria and visit us again with Your compassion! Amen!

As we step into the 2nd half of 2021 tomorrow, the light at the end of our tunnels will begin to shine brighter and brighter in Jesus’ name, Amen!
