RETURN TO THE PLACE OF PRAISE

The book of Ruth 1:1-7 tells us that Elimelech took his sons and wife and left Bethlehem-Judah because there was a famine. This was just a season, an event in their lives. “Bethlehem” means “the land of bread”and “Judah”means “praise”. Bethlehem-Judah was originally called Ephrata, which means fruitful. So you see it’s a triple combination: a land of bread where praises are lifted up to God that brings about fruitfulness. However, Elimelech and his family left this place. And you will be surprised how many people have deserted the place of praise…
