The Hebrew word that is translated “Merry” in this proverb means blithe, gleeful, joyful, merry or rejoicing. The Hebrew word that is translated “Does Good” means makes well. Have you ever seen advertisements on TV for the latest offering by the pharmaceutical companies? At first, those new prescriptive medications sound like they can do wonderful things-and they may! However, have you ever listened to the possible side effects? I’ve heard of medicines that can include side effects that range from indigestion to blindness and everything in between! I would rather take medicine that had no negative side effects, wouldn’t you? The Bible has just the prescription!
