2 Kings 1. Elijah and king Ahaziah. The death of Ahaziah

1 Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab. 2 And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease. 3 But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? 4 Now therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed. 5 And when the messengers…

2 Kings 2. Elijah is taken up to Heaven

1 And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel. 3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace. 4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for…

2 Kings 24. Jehoiachin taken captive to Babylon

1 In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him. 2 And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets. 3 Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did; 4 And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon. 5 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he…

1 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it: and they built forts against it round about. 2 And the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah. 3 And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land. 4 And the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between two walls, which is by the king’s garden: (now the Chaldeeswere against the city round about:) and the king went the way toward the plain…

Prayer points for your husband’s good successes at work

Dear Heavenly Father!

Please I pray that You would bless the work of Your son (his full name), the husband You have blessed me with. May all his labor bring not only favour, success, and prosperity, but great fulfilment as well. If the work he is doing is not in line with Your divine and perfect Will for his life, please, Dear LORD, reveal it to him. Show him what he should do differently and guide him down the right path. Give him the strength, faith and a vision for the future so he can rise above any propensity for laziness. May he never run from honest, hard and smart work out of fear, selfishness, or a desire to avoid responsibilities. On the other hand, help him to see that…

Prayer Alert! Please pray for Oklahoma

On Monday a mile-wide tornado plowed through Moore, Oklahoma killing at least 24 people.  Sadly, the death toll is expected to grow. Tragically, some of these deaths were childred as the tornado destroyed an elementary school while class was in session. Right now rescue teams are searching the area for survivors.

The past few days have been very rough for the midwest as tornadoes touched down in other areas of Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, and Iowa, killing two others and injuring dozens.

Please pray for the state of Oklahoma, and the entire midwest:

1. Pray for the comfort and peace of God to sweep over the families and friends of those who have lost loves ones in this tragedy. (Matthew 5:4)

2. Pray for Oklahoma, particularly the city of Moore, as they work to rebuild and…
