Exodus 35. Regulations for the sabbath

1 And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them. 2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. 3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day. 4 And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD commanded, saying, 5 Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass, 6 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine…

I have delayed writing this but those of you I call friends and supporters, who have prayed for me and this ministry need to know about this new battle that lies ahead. One week ago I was diagnosed with Myeloma Cancer. It is incurable and I’ve been given a 3-4 year window of time. Tomorrow I go in for my first bone biopsy and the process will start. I used to go to movies in the afternoon, now I go see doctors. I write these things for a few reasons…

And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning. 4 And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they…

For Seasoning

For Preservation

For healing of wounds

In the old testament for sacrifice – Lev 2:13

The Bible says in Matthew 5:13A

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men”

EXAMPLES IN THE BIBLE

  • King Saul. 1 Samuel 1:6-7 (Let Your actions speak for you! Choose to ignore! God will raise Helpers for you!)

Betrayal and Forgiveness!

Spend any amount of time and have any kind of interaction with people, and you’ll experience something we’re all too familiar with: betrayal.

Everyone deals with it. We’ve either been betrayed or we will be betrayed. And we know the feeling it leaves in our lives and on our souls—a bitter feeling of resentment, anger and hurt.

But is it possible to overcome the devastating effects of betrayal and experience phenomenal outcomes?

The answer is a resounding, “Yes!” And it all comes down to forgiveness.

But we all know that one of the most difficult things to do is forgive someone who has hurt us. We want that person to pay for what they did. But here’s the thing. Your…

Be Filled With The Holy Spirit

“Do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord(Ephesians 5:18-19).

Jesus tells His disciples that the Holy Spirit “abides with you and will be in you”(John 14:17). But how do we engage this personal Helper? How does His power become real for us?

We are to become filled with the Spirit; another way to express this is to be full of Him. When a person drinks too much liquor, they become intoxicated. When a person is drunk, they are under the influence of the drink. The alcohol dictates the agenda. They don’t get drunk by looking at the liquor or talking about it. They drink it. The more they drink…

Isn’t it true that life can be crazy?

Prayer's avatarPrayer Haven

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Isn’t it true that life can be crazy?

Isn’t it true that life can be crazy? Driving down the freeway can be crazy. Dealing with your family can be crazy. The people you run into at the office can be crazy. If you have kids, maybe they’re driving you a little crazy! There is no denying it…life is crazy.

Have you ever wondered, though, why that is? Why do we have this bent toward craziness in our world, in our relationships, and even in our own lives? It all comes down to a simple, yet potent reality:

Sanity left the world when sin entered the human equation.

In the face of all the craziness around you,

God has a powerful plan for your life.

So as you look around your world and think, “Am I the only one who hasn’t taken crazy pills?” remember that you can be…

How do we know the difference between the flesh and the Holy Spirit within us?

Prayer's avatarPrayer Haven

Dove of the Holy Spirit (ca. 1660, alabaster, ...

How do we know the difference between the flesh and the Holy Spirit within us?

“I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please”(Galatians 5:16-17).

The very Spirit of God has taken up residence in our lives if we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior. God wants to express His mind, His thoughts, His desires, and His will through our mortal bodies. But for us to see this happen, we need to be under the Holy Spirit’s control.

While this is taking place, we are going to experience conflict within ourselves. This is one way we can know we are Christians. If we…
