Genesis 26. Isaac And Abimelech

1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. 2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: 3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; 4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the…

Isaiah 64. A prayer for help (KJV)

1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence. 2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence! 3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence. 4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. 5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness,

Text: Philippians 2:9-11 “9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

What is in a name? Everything! Your future is bound up in your name, everything that happen to you in the future is your name. Consider Moses, the name means drawn out of the water. All through the life of Moses, he had various encounters with water. In…

1 The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel. 2 Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers? 3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. 4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpillar eaten. 5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine, for it is cut off from your mouth. 6 For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without…

1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. 3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate…

Our LORD God Lives Here! In My Heart And In My Home

O Lord, You have searched me and known me, . . . You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.

Psalm 139:2-3, NKJV

Once, as I prepared my house for a visit by my father, I began to clean and straighten my house. I even bought fresh flowers and plants to place around the rooms to make them seem more lovely. I wanted my home to look as inviting, comfortable, and pleasing to his eyes as I could make it. Then it struck me – if I felt this way about my earthly father’s brief visit, how much more care I should give my home every day since my heavenly Father lives here.

I am not a good housekeeper. But motivated by the thought that my house is…

If you are born again, you do not own yourself anymore; you belong to Jesus, for He bought you with a price- His Precious Blood. By Pastor Chris and Anita Oyakhilome

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s (1 Corinthians 6:20).

If you’re born again, you don’t own yourself anymore; you belong to Jesus, for He bought you with a price – His Precious Blood. Thus, you’re now a love-slave to Jesus. You don’t have your life anymore and therefore can’t insist on having your way. Rather, you’re to live for Him. Not many in the Church are fully aware of this yet. Jesus bought you with a price and became your LORD, that means you can’t do what you like anymore, but what He wants. You’ve become His love-slave.

When you decide to become a professional blogger, make the decision to run your blog like a business

Ten tips on how to run your blog like a business

Here are some tips on how to run your blogging like a business.

  1. Niche blogging:

Professional bloggers need to decide their niche, whether it be a blog about blogging, dog training or finding the perfect mate. Each one of the posts need to be focused on some aspect of the whole. Choose the niche with which you have the most experience and passion. If you choose a bland topic, you will lose interest.

  1. Outsourcing:

To save time, the businessperson will outsource some aspects of the operation. You do not need to work alone. You might have strength in writing, but know nothing of web design. Judge the importance of the time it will take you to learn how…

A Successful Vision Paints A Vivid Picture

Most proponents will tell you that human planning of any kind is most successful when a vision is in place first.

A vision must focus on the future and serve as a concrete foundation for a person. It does not fluctuate from year to year but serves as an enduring promise. A successful vision paints a vivid picture of the person and, though future – based, is in the present tense, as if it were being realized now…. A vision must give people the feeling that their lives and work are intertwined and moving towards recognizable legitimate goals.

Benefits of Vision

  • Breaks you out of boundary thinking
  • Provides continuity and avoids the stutter effect of planning fits and starts.
  • Identifies direction and purpose.
  • Promotes interest and commitment.
  • Promotes laser – like focus.
  • Encourages openness to unique and creative solutions.
  • Encourages and builds confidence.

The Key To Effective Prayer

The Key To Effective Prayer

The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available (dynamic in its working) (James 5:16 AMP)

There’re Christians who wonder why they should pray at all since they don’t get results when they pray. For such folks, the reason their prayers are ineffective is that they are ignorant of God’s Word. If you’re a Christian, you ought to know you have the right to pray and expect answers.

Prayer doesn’t have to be lengthy or complicated; God’s response isn’t dependent on your “much speaking” (Matthew 6:7), or length of time you spent praying. 1 Corinthians 1:9 tells us, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ Our LORD.” We were called into companionship and participation with…

Do You Pray For Your Pastors?

Do You Pray For Your Pastors?

Ephesians 6:19

Paul wrote to the believers in Ephesus. “Pray….That whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me….that I will fearlessly make known ….the gospel.” Do you pray for your pastors? You should! After Wilbur Chapman’s first sermon at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, a man said, “You’re pretty young to be pastor of this great church. We’ve always had older men. I’m afraid you won’t succeed, but since you preach the gospel I’m going to help you all I can.” Chapman thought, “What a crank.” But the man continued, “I’m going to pray for you, and a few others have covenanted to join me.” Later, Chapman wrote, “I didn’t feel so bad when I learned that they were going to pray for me. Soon the three became fifty, and the fifty became two hundred who met before…

Give More Time And Attention To Prayer

Ephesians 6:18

Some people only pray when they’re compelled to do so by certain challenges they face in life, and that’s not right. As Christians we’re called into fellowship with our Heavenly Father. So for us, prayer is more than just an opportunity to get God to do something for us; it’s a fellowship, a time to commune with God and synchronise yourself with His purpose for your life daily. This is the reason you must give more time and attention to prayer.

The more time you spend in fellowship with the LORD through prayer, the more His character and personality are revealed in and through you; you’ll find yourself thinking His thoughts and functioning always in the centre of His Will. The man who prays lives with a pure heart towards all men, he doesn’t talk, reason, act or see like…
