If God stood before you today with your miracle – the miracle that you are desperate
for – and offered it to you on a silver platter for you free, would you accept it?

You probably think, “That’s silly. Of course, I would! Doesn’t everyone say yes
to a miracle?”

I love the story of the man who was home alone when it began to rain. Before long,
his house was flooded and the rising waters had covered his feet. He went outside
and saw a man on a raft drift by.

“Need a lift?” the man called.

“No, thanks. I have prayed for a miracle. I’ll wait for…

God knows everything

“He delights in every detail of their lives.” (Psalm 37:23)

Do you ever feel that your parents do not listen to you, your boss does not respect you, or that your co-workers in the church, even the pastor, do not understand you? How devastating to realize that almost no one knows what you are like inside or the dreams you dream. Take heart. Remember that God knows how we are formed. As our Creator, He custom-designed us for a unique purpose.

David declared that the steps of a godly person are directed by the Lord (Psalm 37:23). That means that He will guide us as we live our lives for Him. God even “understands how weak we are; He knows we are only dust” (Psalm 103:14).

But the Holy Spirit opens our eyes to see and our minds to know and our hearts to receive that Jesus is more than just a man . . . or a prophet . . . or a teacher . . . or a revolutionary . . . or an icon . . . or a symbol. Jesus is . . .

A peace before the storm. A peace beyond logic . . . God gave it to David after He showed him Goliath; He gave it to Saul after he showed him the gospel; He gave it to Jesus after He showed Him the cross.

Throughout the Bible, we see Egypt presented as a picture of sin. It was a land of great wealth and power, but to Israel, it was a land of captivity and bondage. As Christians, we live in a world that is much like Egypt. The world desires to see us in bondage to its system. Whether you call it the “rat race” or “keeping up with the Joneses”, the world system will only leave you wanting more. Friend, we need to get off that train because it’s headed nowhere except over a cliff.

Help To Resist Temptation

Satan‘s main strategy with God‘s people has always been to whisper, “Don’t call, don’t ask, don’t depend on God to do great things. You’ll get along fine if you rely on your own cleverness and energy.”

The devil is not terribly frightened of our human efforts, but he knows his kingdom will be damaged when we lift our hearts to God.

God Is Just

Is Justice Delayed Justice Denied?

“The Lord is kind and merciful, slow to get angry, full of unfailing love.” (Psalm 145:8)

Justice delayed is often justice denied. For example, if a defense lawyer can keep postponing a murder case, evidence that is available in a speedy trial becomes useless. Witnesses may die or move away. The defense can challenge the validity of a witness’s memory. Police departments misplace evidence.

However, as believers, it is important that we also recognize that we are saved precisely because God delays His justice. Whatever age you or I received God’s promise of eternal life was more than enough time for God to have caused His just wrath to fall on us.

Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee (Genesis 17:5).

All over the world, people bear names that represent different things, some names represent personalities, landmarks or events, and they’re handed down from one generation to another. Many times, Christians have found themselves bearing names that contradict what they believe. Those names were handed to them by their forbears, and not many ever bothered to find out the meaning of those names to be sure they’re consistent with who we are today in Christ Jesus.

God Is Faithful!

Three hundred and seventy-one days after the Flood began, “God said to Noah, ‘Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives'” (Gen. 8:15, NIV). We can almost hear the “Hallelujah Chorus” playing in the background! What a day of rejoicing that must have been! God had been faithful to see him through!

Give Choices, Give Limits

shalt deliver his soul from hell.

Children need a healthy balance of choices made within a few important
boundaries, but parents must be strong on both sides of the equation.
Parents must give children choices, and give children limits. If all
you give them are choices, they will spend the rest of their lives pressing against authority in all of its forms, seeking the limits they
instinctively know are there.

The younger the child, the greater the limits. As the child grows, the
more choices you give him or her while still maintaining God‘s
standards in your home until that child is able to make Word-informed
choices on their own before God…

Praise comes naturally when you count your blessings

They shall be fresh and flourishing. —Psalm 92:14

In Psalm 92, the poet begins with a commendation of praise: “It is good to give thanks to the Lord.” Good for what? Good for you and me. It does our soul a world of good to turn from anxious thoughts and fill our days with prayerful praise; good to greet each morning with songs of thanksgiving, for such praise makes us glad. It lifts us out of gloom and replaces our sadness with cheerful songs at the “works of [His] hands” (v.4). And what is that work? The work He is doing in us!

We are the salt of the earth

Matthew 5:13, “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.”

MATTHEW 5:13-16

What is it that will be cast out and trodden under foot of men? Is it the salt, or is it possible that Jesus is speaking about the world? If we as believers lose our preserving influence, then there is no other way for the Lord to save the world. It will be dominated by men.

God flows through His people. It is not our own power that changes people. It’s God’s power in us. But God will not do it without us. It’s a partnership.

Reminding people of their failures is not a way to help them

In the 4th chapter of John, Jesus found a woman beside a well. She was a Samaritan woman, and Jesus began to speak to her from the wisdom and knowledge of God. He asked her a question, “Where is your husband?” She answered, “I don’t have one.” Jesus replied, “That’s true. You’ve had five, and the one you are with now is not your husband.” Jesus knew where this woman was. Think of how many wrongs she had done according to our standard of righteousness. She was living with a man, committing adultery. But Jesus did not condemn her. He did not rehearse her sins or remind her of her failures. Reminding people of their failures is not a way to help. The Holy Spirit

John 7:38 says: “He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

We understand that this is speaking of the Holy Ghost. Jesus tells us that when we believe on Him, then the Holy Ghost comes into our lives and we are empowered. When it says, “out of his belly shall flow rivers…”, these are rivers of living water.

The rivers include enablement, measures of grace, the things that God enables and empowers us to do with the help of the Holy Ghost. It is not by our own strength, but it is the strength of the Holy Ghost. Young people especially are challenged today to remain pure and not get swept away by the

lusts of the flesh. The enemy has a clear strategy to draw men and women into fulfilling the

desires of the flesh instead of learning the value of putting their flesh on the altar daily and

allowing the character of God to form in their lives.
