FRUIT BEARING

TEXT:Matthew 3: 8-10.

INTRODUCTION:

One of the reasons why God chose us is to bear fruits. Why must we bear fruits and conditions for effective fruit bearing is our focus today?

WHY MUST WE BEAR FRUITS?

(i)Fruit bearing is a must for every Christian. Jn 15: 16

(ii) Unfruitfulness is a sign of worldliness. 1 Jn 2: 15.

(iii)Unfruitfulness is a misuse of talents, an avenue for the Lord’s disappointment, divine judgment and final rejection. Lk 13: 6-7; Lk 19: 20-26; Matt 3: 10; Heb 6: 7-8.

CONDITIONS FOR FRUIT BEARING.
(i)Perpetual contact with Jesus Christ. Ps 1: 1-3; Jn 15: 5-7; Phil 4: 13.
(ii) Being dead to the old life. Jn 12: 24; Gal 2: 20.

(iii) Constant spiritual polishing. Jn 15: 2.
