Grow In The Spirit. To grow in the Spirit, you also have to study the word of God because it is a mirror that exposes your weaknesses to you.  The fruit of the Spirit is what distinguishes a child of God from one who is merely practicing Christianity as a religion. The more you yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, the more you grow in the Spirit and bear more fruit.

MEMORISE: Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins. Jeremiah 12:2

MESSAGE:

Many people erroneously pray that God should give them the fruit of the Spirit forgetting that fruits are not given; rather, they grow over time after a period of planting and germination. A farmer who plants a mango seed will not fold his hands and expect the seed to grow on its own. He has to expose the seed to the needed amount of sunlight, water and keep getting rid of weeds around the crop so that it can grow and bring forth fruits. In the same vein, the spiritual growth of a Christian is a process that begins after he or she accepts Jesus into his or her life. Thereafter, the fellow is expected to nurture his relationship with the Holy Spirit so that He can bear fruit in him or her. The fruit of the Spirit is what distinguishes a child of God from one who is merely practicing Christianity as a religion.

To grow in the Spirit, you also have to study the word of God because it is a mirror that exposes your weaknesses to you. As you work on the weaknesses, you become better. The more you yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, the more you grow in the Spirit and bear more fruit.
