Continue In Intercession. The Plans Of The Enemy Will Not Materialize.

Continue In Intercession. The Plans Of The Enemy Will Not Materialize.

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men…that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

Our world isn’t at the mercy of Satan and his murderous antics. As long as we take our place, interceding for the nations and those in positions of authority, the plans of the enemy will not materialize.

We’re the ones to see to it that God’s purpose, His perfect will, is fulfilled in the earth and in the lives of men. He gave us the authority, the ability, and the responsibility. In Ephesians 6:18, the Spirit says, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”

Our intercessory ministry is through and by the Spirit. As we pray in intercession, the Holy Spirit takes hold together with us against the forces of darkness to establish the righteousness of God in every place. Part of the result is what He says we’d experience in the latter part of our theme scripture: a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Another amazing impact of our intercessory prayers is that through it, we bind the “strong man”—Satan: “Or else how can one enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man…” (Matthew 12:29).

For us to record a massive harvest of souls in the nations of the world as we should in these last days, we must break the power and influence of Satan and demons over the minds and lives of those who haven’t yet known the Lord.As you pray, declare that the power and influence of Satan and his demons over their lives are broken in the Name of Jesus. Proclaim that as they hear the Gospel, they understand and receive it for their salvation in Christ Jesus.

Intercession is always on behalf of others; you’re directing God’s grace, power and influence toward others and pleading your case in their interest. That requires importunity, consistency and fervency in prayer (James 5:16 AMPC). So, keep praying; don’t stop until the will of God is fully established.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, I thank you for the spirit of prayer and intercession in the churches of Christ today. As we pray, your righteousness is established in the hearts of men as the light of your glorious Gospel shines ever more brightly upon the nations in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Weapons Of Our Warfare. Diligence.

Weapons Of Our Warfare. Diligence.

TEXT: 2 Peter 1: 1 – 8 & Proverbs 22:29.

INTRODUCTION.

Diligence is the totality of the effort to do one’s part while keeping the faith and reliance in God. A diligent fellow will make every effort to follow through on everything he starts, which requires self-discipline.

OUTLINE 1: The Significance of Diligence.

Diligence teaches us to learn about contentment and be grateful for the work that lies ahead of us, no matter how hard it is. Phil: 4:12.

Diligence, as taught in the Bible, is much more than about achieving temporal success; rather it’s about stewardship of the gifts and callings God has placed on our lives.

OUTLINE 2: God’s Expectations.

Diligence, when combined with faith, assures spiritual success. Diligence as one of secret virtues describes thoroughness, completeness, and persistence of an action, particularly in matters of faith.

Heb 6:11-12, Col 3:23; Prov 14:23; Eccl 9:10

Examples of Diligent Folks in the Bible –

David – Ps 78:70-72; Isaac – Gen 26:12-17; Joseph – Gen 39:1-23; Job – 17:11; Paul – Phil 3:14.

I press towards the mark…

OUTLINE 3: Effects /Benefits of Diligence.

1) Find joy and satisfaction in doing God’s work. Jer 10:23; 1Tim 6:6-7.

2) Our lives are not ours, and we brought nothing to this world, and we will take nothing out of it.

3) You act without having to be told what to do all the time. The sons of Prophet. 2Kings:6:1-3.

4) Focus on the most important things. You prioritise your values. All things are lawful unto me, but not all things are expedient. 1 Cor:6:12-20.

5) Don’t give up when things get hard. 2 Cor:4:9.

6) You pray for guidance and strength. Ps 28:7.

7) It attracts recognition and promotion. Prov 22:29.

8) It attracts patronage in whatever business you do. It wasn’t an accident that Joseph was a sought-after he found himself.

9) It attracts jealousy and criticism. 1 Sam: 17:28; 1Sam 18:7-8.

10) It differentiates between success and failure. Prov 10:4; Prov 12:24; 13:4.

11) It brings about internal joy and fulfilment. 2 Tim 4:7.

Conclusion.

Success is the culmination of adequate preparation and thorough execution. This simply means success will be far from the lazy folks. The need to be diligent in every aspect of endeavour is simply undebatable. Even the Bible makes it clear that diligence is also an essential component of our walk with God. May God help us to be diligent in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.

Building The Body. Family Devotion.

Building The Body, Family Devotion

TEXT: Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Family devotion is an essential part of Christian living. God wants every believer to use this platform to nurture members of the family with the word of God. He commands that “thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

Although most Christians believe in the value of family devotion, very few maintain it consistently. This neglect reflects in the Christian values of members of the family, especially the children. We should never allow engagement in either secular and religious activities or the pressure of duty to deprive us of the benefits of this scriptural way of nurturing members of our family.

Suitable Time For a consistent family devotion, the first thing to decide is the time that will be most suitable for the family. Usually, early in the morning and later in the evening when everybody is still physically alert are the best times. All members should see and accept it as an integral part of the family life.

Where there are young children in the family, they should not be kept awake till late in the night to participate in the family devotion. Instead, either father or mother could have a time of devotion with the children early in simple language so they can understand.

Snags to Avoid However, during the explanations of the text for the day or during prayer sessions, we should avoid using the opportunity to castigate any member of the family. This may cause disinterest and resentment. Rebuke and correction should be done in love but at a different time.

We must avoid making it boring by encouraging participation. Activities such as memorising of some verses of Scripture or learning of a new chorus or song can be introduced to make it lively.

Salient Benefits

Where family devotion is sustained, it helps unsaved members of the family to receive Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour and all saved members to know Him more. Apart from providing spiritual nourishment, it deepens our knowledge of the Scriptures and promotes communication among family members. It also brings a burden and concern for each other as individual needs and problems are mentioned and prayed for. It provides an opportunity to teach the children Christian values and all members of the family their responsibilities to God, the church, the nation and one another.

THE LAW OF REST.

THE LAW OF REST.

MEMORISE:

“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” – (Hebrews 4:10)

READ: EXODUS 20:8-11 (KJV)

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

10 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

MESSAGE:

After creation, God rested on the seventh day (Genesis 2:2). How is it that the Almighty, All-powerful God needed to rest? He did not need to rest; He can never be tired. If He had been tired, then He would have been tired at least once in all the thousands of years since the earth was made. Psalm 121:4 says that He never sleeps nor slumbers. Therefore, resting on the seventh day was not for Him but for us; He was establishing a law that we should follow for our own good – the law of rest (Exodus 34:21).

The law of rest is to be applied to your land, animals, and staff. You must not let your staff work for seven days a week; they must have at least one day to rest and be refreshed (Exodus 23:12). This is important for them to be productive the next week. Also, you will get the best out of your farmland if you leave it to rest for one year every seven years (Leviticus 25:4). It is a law that will increase your productivity greatly.

If you think that working for seven days will bring more productivity than working for six days every week, you are wrong. There is a fast-food restaurant in the United States of America that works for only six days and is closed on Sundays. That restaurant is one of the fastest-growing fast-food restaurants in the world. Resting for one day every week greatly improves your productivity as opposed to working for seven days a week.

Working continuously without rest will damage an individual’s health. Many people have died because they did not rest as they ought to. Going against this law can bring great danger to a fellow’s health and life. I was telling one of my sons about this law of rest, and he looked at me in a funny way as if to say, “You? Do you rest?” I told him that I rest, even though he may not know it. I wouldn’t be this productive if I don’t rest. In fact, there are periods in the year when I don’t go anywhere; I just stay in a quiet place to rest. My body will no longer be useful to God if I damage it just because I am so zealous about the ministry that I disregard the law of rest.

KEY POINT:

Work hard, but make sure you take out time to rest so you do not wear out your body.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: ECCLESIASTES 9-12

HYMNAL:  29 – WHEN PEACE LIKE A RIVER ATTENDETH MY WAY

1 When peace like a river attendeth my way,

When sorrows like sea billows roll;

Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,

“It is well, it is well with my soul.”

Refrain (may be sung after final stanza only):

It is well with my soul;

It is well, it is well with my soul.

2 Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,

Let this blest assurance control:

That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,

And has shed his own blood for my soul. Refrain

3 My sin oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!

My sin, not in part, but the whole,

Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more;

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! Refrain

4 O Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,

The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;

The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend;

Even so, it is well with my soul. Refrain

Life after death

The Burial Of Sarah.

The Burial Of Sarah.

Genesis 23: 1-20 (NKJV)

23:1. Sarah lived one hundred and twenty-seven years; [these were] the years of the life of Sarah.

23:2. So Sarah died in Kirjath Arba (that [is,] Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.

23:3. Then Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spoke to the sons of Heth, saying,

23:4. “I [am] a foreigner and a visitor among you. Give me property for a burial place among you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.”

23:5. And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,

23:6. “Hear us, my lord: You [are] a mighty prince among us; bury your dead in the choicest of our burial places. None of us will withhold from you his burial place, that you may bury your dead.”

23:7. Then Abraham stood up and bowed himself to the people of the land, the sons of Heth.

23:8.  And he spoke with them, saying, “If it is your wish that I bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and meet with Ephron the son of Zohar for me,

23:9. “that he may give me the cave of Machpelah which he has, which [is] at the end of his field. Let him give it to me at the full price, as property for a burial place among you.”

23:10.  Now Ephron dwelt among the sons of Heth; and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the presence of the sons of Heth, all who entered at the gate of his city, saying,

23:11. “No, my lord, hear me: I give you the field and the cave that [is] in it; I give it to you in the presence of the sons of my people. I give it to you. Bury your dead!”

23:12. Then Abraham bowed himself down before the people of the land;

23:13.  and he spoke to Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying, “If you [will give it,] please hear me. I will give you money for the field; take [it] from me and I will bury my dead there.”

23:14. And Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,

23:15.  “My lord, listen to me; the land [is worth] four hundred shekels of silver. What [is] that between you and me? So bury your dead.”

23:16.  And Abraham listened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed out the silver for Ephron which he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, currency of the merchants.

23:17.  So the field of Ephron which [was] in Machpelah, which [was] before Mamre, the field and the cave which [was] in it, and all the trees that [were] in the field, which [were] within all the surrounding borders, were deeded

23:18. to Abraham as a possession in the presence of the sons of Heth, before all who went in at the gate of his city.

23:19. And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah, before Mamre (that [is,] Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

23:20. So the field and the cave that [is] in it were deeded to Abraham by the sons of Heth as property for a burial place.

STUDY:

Sarah, Abraham’s wife, died at the age of 127 years in Hebron, in the land of Canaan. Thereafter, Abraham negotiated with the sons of Heth to buy a property for a burial ground. He also asked for the cave of Machpelah, belonging to Ephron.

Ephron offered to surrender his field, together with the cave, for 400 shekels of silver. Abraham paid the cost of 400 shekels of silver for Ephron’s field and cave located in Machpelah and the property was deeded to Abraham as his possession. This was done before all the sons of Heth. Then Abraham buried Sarah in the cave. Burial ceremonies differ from country to country, and from culture to culture.

In some cultures, the dead is buried in public burial grounds with just family members attending. In some other cultures, the dead is buried in the family compound or property with many people attending. Some people spend lots of money to bury their dead. Some even sell their land to finance such expensive burials.

SEVEN TRUTHS ABOUT THE CHURCH.

SEVEN TRUTHS ABOUT THE CHURCH.

TEXT: EPHESIANS 3:1 – 12

INTRODUCTION

In our study of Ephesians 2: 13 -22 last week, we learnt that even though the natural man is dead in his sins and thus separated from Christ, there are two ‘buts’ – the mercy of God and the blood of Jesus Christ, with which we can now have access to God. We are brought near by the blood of Christ, having become born again, received eternal life and are saved by His Grace.

Today, we are looking closely at the church – what is the church and the core truths of a church going by scriptures.

From our text, seven different truths are revealed:

• The mystery of the church

• The meaning of the church

• The membership of the church

• The mission of the church

• The Ministers of the church

• The marks of the church

• The might of the church.

1. The Mystery of the church: Ephesians 3: 3, 6, 9; 1 Corinthians 2: 7 -12; Romans 10:12-13; 1 Corinthians 15:51; Ephesians 3: 3-4, Ephesians 6:19; 1Timothy 3:16. Church is not a mystery. The mystery is that through the gospel, Gentiles and Jews are joint heirs and sharers in the promise of Jesus Christ.

2. Church Defined (the meaning of the church): Ephesians 3: 6, 10.

a. Body of Christ: Ephesians 3: 6; Ephesians 4:12; John 3:16; Ephesians 5:25

b. Jesus Christ is the head of the church: Ephesians 4: 15; Colossians 1:18

3. Church Membership: Ephesians 3: 6

a. The church comprises both believing Jews and Gentiles. Acts 15:13-14

b. Membership of the church consists only of born-again children of God who are washed in the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

c. Membership is formed when both Jews and Gentiles preach the gospel, people are convicted of sin by the Holy Spirit and become part of the body of Christ.1 Corinthians 12:13

4. The Purpose of the church (the mission of the church): Ephesians 3: 8, 10.

a. To preach the gospel through programs, evangelism etc: Ephesians 3:8; Matthew 28:19; 2 Timothy 1: 8

b. For God’s manifold wisdom to be made known to the rulers and authorities in heavenly places (angelic hosts, good and bad) through the church, so they (the rulers and powers) may understand God’s eternal plan for the redemption of mankind (through the salvation of Jew and Gentile in one body which is a hidden mystery to them): Ephesians 3:10

5. The Ministers of the church: Ephesians 3: 7; Ephesians 4:11. All true members of the church are ministers of the church and should participate in the sharing of the gospel.

6. The Characteristics of the church (the marks of the church): The bible speaks of some qualities that distinguish men and women who make up the church:

a. BOND SLAVES OF JESUS – Ephesians 3:1, 2Timothy 1:8. Those who are prisoners of Christ Jesus.

b. FELLOWSHIP: Jews and Gentiles who are united in one body and are partakers of the promise of in Christ Jesus through the gospel – Ephesians 3:6.

c. THE HUMBLE: Ephesians 3:8; James 4:6.

d. TESTIFIERS: Ephesians 3: 8.

e. ACCEPTED: Ephesians 3: 11-12. We are accepted by God and can approach Him with freedom and confidence through our faith in Jesus Christ.

7. The Might of the church (the power of the church): Ephesians 3: 7; Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 3:11. The church is so mighty in power because Jesus Christ is the Founder and builder. Hence, neither death nor evil will permanently destroy it.

CONCLUSION

The church is the body of Christ. The head of the church is Jesus Christ. The body of the church is made up of both believing Jews and Gentiles. True members of the church have been empowered by grace to preach the gospel. Everything we do in church should have behind it the underlying passion to see sinners saved and the saved grow up to the full measure of Christ.

Ephesians 4:12 states that the ministry gifts were given to equip people for service and build up the body of Christ.

If you are here today, physically, or virtually, and are yet to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, today offers another opportunity for you to do so. Tomorrow may be too late

The Power That Works in Us.

The Power That Works in Us.

 Pastor Tunde Jenrola

In the next few minutes, I’ll be talking to us on this message titled “The Power that Works in Us”; Ephesians 3: 14 – 21, the background to this was when Paul was talking to the Christians at Ephesus and was sharing with them how God called him and how God has given him the mandate to minister to the Gentiles, people who before then were not considered heirs to God. So this portion where we read from is where Paul was now praying for the people; and then in verse 20 he said that he will see God to be able to carry the abundant things that God can do according to His power that works in us.

We’re going to quickly define two keywords, Power and Work. Power is defined as the ability or capacity to do something or act in a particular way. Capacity to direct, to influence, behavior of other people or course of event.

Power could also be said to be a supernatural thing or force and in this case, situating it to our course for today, the supernatural force here is God, so we are saying the power of God that works in us. Work on the other hand is defined as the activity (whether it’s mental or physical) that is deployed to achieve a purpose.

          So let us just take a few look at power and the work that we’re talking about;

  • The more power you deploy, the more work you can do (assuming efficiency is constant), Judges 14:5 & 6.
  • As good as power is, if power is deployed in the wrong direction, in an opposite direction, instead of aiding your ability, it becomes a resistance, Genesis 26: 18 – 22.

So now that we’ve established the relationship between power and work, let us now see how these play out in our lives;

  • There is the power of a man that doesn’t know God, Acts 12: 1-11.
  • There is power of devil and his cohorts
  • The power of God, John 10:10

What are the inhibitors?

  • Lack of knowledge of the word.
  • Lack of faith, Hebrews 11:6.
  • Sin.

Therefore brethren, if the word of God does not appear to be working in your life, two things: either you are not speaking the word, you don’t know the word or you are afraid, you are not talking with boldness or there is an inhibitor, if there is an inhibitor, the word will not work.

Thank You Jesus,

The Weapons Of Our Warfare. Shield Of Faith & The Helmet Of Salvation.

The Weapons Of Our Warfare. Shield Of Faith & The Helmet Of Salvation.

TEXT: EPHESIANS 6:12 – 18

INTRODUCTION:

Continuing in the series of “The Weapons Of Our Warfare”. As highlighted in the Book of Ephesians 6:12, the six fold weapons are:

1). The helmet of salvation,

2). Breast plate of righteousness,

3). The belt of truth,

4). The feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace,

5). The shield of faith,

6). The sword of the spirit – which is the word of God.

In our text, it would seem that Apostle Paul was both defining and defending his ministry, he highlighted 3 key elements about his ministry that holds true for all ministry:

1) As believers in this world, we are at war living in a fallen world. We are in danger of sin in ourselves, in others and in the world systems. There is the constant prowl of the devil over the earth looking for whom to devour – 1 Peter 5:8

2) We must adopt the use of the right weapons, which must be adequate for the battle. Paul in his analogy here reveal that our fleshly weapons will not work; that the weapon we need must have divine power in order to be effective – these are the full armours.

3) The divinely empowered weapons are designed to accomplish specific purpose; to destroy the strongholds. – in war, battles are won when strongholds are conquered. What are these strongholds? 2 Cor 10:5

a. Human wisdom

b. Every knowledge that attempts to usurp the place of God

c. Lofty opinions raised again the knowledge of God

d. Every false teachings, lies and counterfeit truth

e. Etc

Today, we will examine two more components of the weapons of warfare:

1). The Shield of Faith

2). And The Helmet of Salvation.

Our battles are more spiritual than physical hence we cannot deploy carnal weapons to combat them.

According to our text “…The weapons of our warfare are not carnal…”this means our own strength offers us very little help in this war in which we are daily engaged.

Often people make the mistake of fighting spiritual battles with carnal (physical) weapons.

A. THE SHIELD OF FAITH –

– Shield is a defensive weapon; it protects a warrior from enemy’s blows and also serve to deflect thrown arrows, spears and missiles.

– Faith is full trust – being sure of God, that He is not just capable but will keep all of His promises. Faith is what guards us when we come face to face with temptations and trials. For instance when doubts, discouragement and fears creeps in and our beliefs are questioned (which is usually satan’s strategy), it is our faith in Christ Jesus that kicks in to protect us. We are able to stand firm in the word that we believe.

– Our faith can guard us during trials in the same way a shield would during battles.

How Do We Pick Up The Shield of Faith?

– Believe God will do as He said and will

– Be Confident in the Word:

– Apply The Word – Eph 6:16:

B. THE HELMET OF SALVATION –

– Helmet is a protective gear worn over the head to protect it against damaging blows or shots from the enemies.

Helmet compliments the skull in protecting the human brain. So, Salvation therefore acts like helmet in the way it protects our minds from the corruption of the world. As born again Christians we are not to be conformed to the patterns of this world – Romans 12:2

– Spiritually speaking, the helmet of salvation provides hope and protects the mind against anything that would disorient or destroy the Christian such as discouragement or deceit of the devil

– When we put on the helmet of salvation, we put on Christ Jesus Himself.

– Jesus protects not just our heads but our entire beings from spiritual death.

– To wear the helmet of salvation means to live everyday focused on eternity and the promised future we have in Christ Jesus.

HOW DO WE KEEP THE HELMET SALVATION FASTENED AND FUNCTIONING?

– Daily Renewal of our Minds

– Reject Doubts That Arises From Circumstances

– Keep An Eternal Perspective

– Remember The Battle Is Already Won

– Find All Our Hope in Christ Jesus

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, The shield and helmet are both defensive and protective weapons that is required by every believer.

1. Wishful thinking doesn’t shield us, but the word of God does – He is a shield to those who takes refuge in Him – Proverbs 30:5

2. The assurance of salvation is our impenetrable defence against anything the enemy may throw at us. Jesus said “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both the soul and body in hell. Matthew 10: 28

3. We must therefore keep them securely fastened on, for by them we not only guard our hearts and mind in Christ Jesus, we protect ourselves against the fiery arrows of the enemy and we are able to destroy every arguments as well as lofty opinions raised against the knowledge of God. 1Peter 1:5, Philippians 4:7, Isaiah 26:3

4. The weapons are mark of identity for every believer just as in every national troupe.-

PRAYERS.

Father, thank you that today we can put on the weapons of warfare because you gave us Jesus to pay for them. Help us Lord to daily renew our minds, purge us of any thoughts of doubt, discouragement, fear, anger so that will not conform to the patterns of this world. Equip us Lord for the battlefield and help us to keep our focus on You and eternity with You in Jesus name, amen.

THANK YOU

Dealing with the root of bitterness is so important that it cannot be overemphasised. At times, you may not necessarily be the recipient but the main actor.

Jesus warned Peter to be careful of temptation from satan (Luke 22:31-34). Rather than pay attention and pray it out, his overconfidence would not allow him until he actually fell for it (Luke 22:57-58, 6061). The Bible records in verse 62, “And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.”

Yes, Peter felt really bad to have betrayed his Master’s love in a trifling moment, but he did not allow that to halt his ministerial destiny. He refused to entertain bitterness; rather, he forgave himself and moved on. Jesus, our greatest example of love, also did not hold Peter’s action against him since He had earlier forewarned him. Little wonder, when Jesus came back after His resurrection, He literally handed over the work of ministry to Peter (John 21:15-19) and he joyfully took up the challenge.

Jesus did not give up on Peter, neither did Peter give up on himself. By the time we saw Peter again in Acts of the Apostles, he had become a Spirit-filled, vibrant and fire-brand Apostle who often stood up boldly before the Jewish leaders to defend the Christian faith.

Beloved, what is that supposedly unpardonable sin you have committed, especially in time past, probably during the time of ignorance? Acts 17:30 says: “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.” Confess and repent of your sin(s) before your Maker, receive His forgiveness and endeavour to forgive yourself.

Yes, you shouldn’t have done it but you did! Nevertheless, let go of the bitterness against yourself or against anyone whatsoever. God has not given up on you, refuse to give up on yourself either. Exchange that bitterness with love today and you will be glad you did!

TEXT: John 20:11-18

[11]But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb.

[12]And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

[13]Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”

[14]Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.

[15]Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”

[16]Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).

[17] “Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ”

[18]Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.

STUDY

Prior to the death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus, we could not refer to God as Father. Though He created us, sin had caused a separation between us. We needed to be washed, sanctified and justified. This was made possible through the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus. Now, once a person accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior, such a person becomes a child of God. If you have done that at any point, you need to know that God is your Father (John 1:12). You can call Him Abba because the spirit of adoption now lives in you (Romans 8:15).

A father is a giver and provider. Expect that your heavenly father is looking for avenue to bless and provide for you. He wants you to ask so that you will receive good things from Him (Luke 11:11-13). Your Father cares about your deepest needs and concerns. Cast your burdens on Him (1 Peter 5:7). When life gets overwhelming, you can shut your door and pray to your Father who is in the secret place (Matthew 6:6).

Food for Thought: “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18).

Prayer: Dear Father, help me to become conscious of the relationship we now have. Amen.

GOD’S MIGHT IS MATCHLESS. MARVEL OF GOD’S MIGHT. GOD STRENGTHENS THOSE WHO DEPEND ON HIM. DEAR GOD. GIVE ME STRENGTH TO DO EXPLOITS. DAILY.

GOD’S MIGHT IS MATCHLESS, MARVEL OF GOD’S MIGHT, GOD STRENGTHENS THOSE WHO DEPEND ON HIM, DEAR GOD, GIVE ME STRENGTH TO DO EXPLOITS, DAILY

MEMORY VERSE: “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth” (Isaiah40:26).

TEXT: ISAIAH 40: 25-31

Do you wonder at the humongous amount and quality of innovations from the world of science, technology and engineering? Is artificial intelligence (robotics) a marvel to you? Then think of God’s might! One’s might is one’s ability to perform a task. It shows one’s strength and power. In our Bible text, God asks a pertinent question, ‘To whom will ye liken me, or shall I be equal?” God’s might is matchless. There is no man on earth who is as powerful as God. He that created the heavens and the earth knows no impossibility. His intelligence, strength and might never fail. This is a marvel. The scriptures say that the youths who are generally strong can become weak and faint, but God has all-time strength and power.

As a Christian youth, except you tap into the might of God, you will fail and be unable to excellently accomplish any physical or spiritual task.  To tap into the might of God, you need the new birth experience through Christ. Paul, the apostle testified saying, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13).

QUOTE: God’s might is matchless.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, give me strength to do exploits, daily.

CHALLENGE: God strengthens those who depend on Him.
