Get Up and Get Shinning.

Isaiah 60:1 (AMPC), “Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”

The first part of Isaiah 60:2 goes on to say, “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people…”.  We live in a world where society mirrors the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, where the moral compass has been turned upside down. 2 Timothy 3:13 says we are in the last days where, “…evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”. We may find ourselves facing evil reports that appear to have the power to knock the wind out of our sails. But don’t allow them to distract you from the truth we cling to! Never lose sight of who we are in Christ, and the glory He has placed inside us! Ephesians 1:17 calls God, the Father of glory!  The definition of the glory of God is the weightiness of everything that makes God – God.  So the glory of God finds its origin in the Father.  Now in Hebrews 1:3, we are told that Jesus is the, “sole expression of the glory of God…”. Then, when we take a look at what Jesus says to the Father in John 17:22, we see that same glory has been translated to everyone who believes in Him! In fact, 2 Thessalonians 2:14 tells us that through us receiving the Gospel, we, “…obtain and share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).” Within each believer dwells the glory of God! No wonder we are told to ARISE and SHINE! No matter how evil or dark the world around us gets, God’s glory rises up from within our spirit-man and is able to shine so brightly that it dispels that darkness and will never be overcome by it! (John 1:3-5). The end part of Isaiah 60:2 tells us the result of letting God’s glory shine from within us: “…but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”. Keep acknowledging this truth and nothing will stop people from being drawn to the Father through His glory light that’s shining through you!
