Matthew 8:6-7 says: “And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.” Here was a centurion, not even saved, not born again. It doesn’t even say he was a Jew, and yet he asked Jesus for help. He told Him he had someone dear to him who was not whole, someone who was not well. The servant was vexed, tormented, taken captive, and broken. Jesus immediately, without any questions or reservations said, “I will come and heal him.” Jesus wants to make people whole. He wants to come to your home and make you whole. I don’t know if you are broken financially, emotionally, relationally, in marriage, or in body, but Jesus is saying to you right now, “I will come and make you whole.” All you need to do today is just think how simple it was for the centurion. Make it as simple for you today. Say to Him, “Jesus, come and heal. Come and bless. Come and repair. Come and deliver.” Whatever you need, fill in the blank for yourself. Ask, and watch God arise.
He will come!

Ephesians_1-3. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled
Matthew 5:6, “Blessed [are] they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”
MATTHEW 5:1-9
In the natural world, people eat even when they aren’t hungry. Many of us can prove that by turning sideways and looking at ourselves in the mirror. But in the spiritual realm, only those who are hungry can get fed. One of the worst things that can happen to us is spiritual complacency.
Being hungry for the things of God is one of the best things that can happen to us. Most people don’t feel that way. They would rather have the feeling of being full. But Jesus promised us that fullness would follow hunger. No hunger, no fullness.
Therefore, what many people hate is actually a sign of spiritual health. Longing for more of God is a healthy sign. No one hungers for God on their own. That is not the nature of man. No man hungers for God unless the Spirit of God is drawing him (Jn. 6:44).
Hungering for God doesn’t cause God to move in our lives, but it is a sign that God is already at work in us. We should praise God for spiritual hunger and be encouraged. He doesn’t make us hungry and then let us starve. He does so in order to fill us with His blessings and love. We need a hunger that will never be satisfied until the marriage supper of the Lamb.

“Then said Jesus unto them again, verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” John 10:7, 11
Throughout the Bible, particularly the New Testament, God used things that we can readily identify with to speak to us the deep mystery of the Kingdom. Jesus used the everyday things around to teach very deep truths that every believer ought to know. He knew that if you can just catch a glimpse of what He is saying, you will be more effective ministers of the Gospel.
Look at our text again; do you understand the full import of what Jesus was saying? If you truly understand our text for today, you will have no reason to fear anything in life. Let me break it down a little – The sheepfold is a place where the sheep are kept safe. There is an opening into this place through which the sheep is herded in. The good shepherd then sleeps right across that opening in the night. The implication is whenever danger comes the enemy had to first contend with the shepherd before entering the sheepfold. Now you can understand it better when Jesus says He is the door to the sheepfold and the good shepherd.
This means that the good shepherd guarantees the supply of all my needs and he, who is the door to the sheepfold, also guarantees my protection from any evil. Hallelujah! So I can say without any shadow of fear that nothing shall by any means hurt me. The same is true for you, if only you will believe. Beloved, you have no reason to fear.

They gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!—Exodus 32:24
“Mistakes were made,” said the CEO as he discussed the illegal activity his company had been involved in. He looked regretful, yet he kept blame at arm’s length and couldn’t admit he had personally done anything wrong. Some “mistakes” are just mistakes: driving in the wrong direction, forgetting to set a timer and burning dinner, miscalculating your checkbook balance. But then there are the deliberate deeds that go far beyond—God calls those sin. When God questioned Adam and Eve about why they had disobeyed Him, they quickly tried to shift the blame to another (Gen. 3:8-13). Aaron took no personal responsibility when the people built a golden calf to worship in the desert. He explained to Moses, “[The people] gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!” (Ex. 32:24).
He might as well have muttered, “Mistakes were made.”
Sometimes it seems easier to blame someone else rather than admitting our own failings. Equally dangerous is to try to minimize our sin by calling it “just a mistake” instead of acknowledging its true nature.
But when we take responsibility, acknowledging our sin and confessing it. The One who “is faithful and just . . . will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Our God offers His children forgiveness and restoration.
The first step to receiving God’s forgiveness is to admit that we need it.

Some people have turned their spouse to a spectator. They’ll organise the match, play the match, referee the match, score the goal and obviously celebrate the win or lose alone. They will often wonder why their spouse is not carrying the trophy or handkerchief with them. Who plays the game of marriage alone? Most times when two people are arguing, chances are they are both right. In marriage however, arguing to win the battle of “who is right” may cause more harm than intended. The key to healthy disagreement is to learn when to compromise. It takes wisdom – sometimes we have to “give in” to allow our spouse win so we can both be winners in the end. It may not be wise to say that the man should always be the one with the final say, except in a situation where a man marries a robot with no mind of it’s own. There are issues that needs women emotional reasoning while some issues will demand man’s logical reasoning. Both reasonings are important to help the family move forward in a healthy way. His ways should be her ways and her ways his ways…. marriage flourishes where “my way” becomes “our ways”. There can be two captains in a boat, as long as they are working in turns…. one does the day shift, while the other person does the night shift. If it is your spouse turn today, reason and compromise so there can be more thoughts to decide on. Going on and on defensively though you know what your spouse is saying is right – because you don’t want to accept defeat will only make your marriage ship capsize. Couples have to be sensitive and sensible enough to know when to back off from an argument. Remember, it’s all about team work. Those who dominates never gets required support for success. A successful marriage can only be achieved where couples work together as a team rather than competitors. Don’t be Mr or Mrs “I know it all”, give your spouse some chance too. After all you married him or her to complement your weakness in building your strength. No one likes to be a spectator…. especially where the issues are our issues. It takes two, to Tango…..!

Deuteronomy_31-6: Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
INTRODUCTION A great number of believers are indifferent towards missions and missionary work. Little do they know that missions is the heartbeat of God. God has been behind missionary activities since the fall of man. Today, we want to study about God and His missionary purpose to all nations. May the Lord open our eyes to see what He wants us to see, in Jesus’ name.
GOD’S MISSIONARY PURPOSE If not for God who revealed to us through His word, we would not have known that we are supposed to take the Gospel to the whole world – Matthew 24:14; Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 24:47.
God is interested in removing every barrier to that fellowship. God is a missionary God. We can see God’s missionary purpose to all nations right through the Bible particularly after the tragic fall of man – Genesis 3: 1-15; Jonah 1 :2.
God’s first reaction was to promise that the seed of the woman would crush the head of the serpent, even though he would also suffer in the process – Genesis 3:15. Sin and defeat came to all people through the head of the human race, Adam. The defeat of Satan will come for all Adam’s descendants (all nations) through this promise.
The covenant with Noah and his descendants – Genesis 9:1-17, was with all mankind in every nation. The call of Abram – Genesis 12 was not to give special privileges to a special nation but to provide a means for God to save all nations. God needed someone to keep the knowledge of the true God alive in the world.
God’s intention was to use a nation who would write down the revelations of God and preserve them as a message to all nations (the Bible.) In the nation, He used a family as the preserver of truth. God told Abraham, “…in thee all families of the earth be blessed.” – Genesis 12:3, Matthew 18:18, Matthew 22:18. Therefore, the call of Abraham was purposely aimed at bringing salvation to all nations.
WHO IS A MISSIONARY? Some people think a missionary is a white man who comes from a rich country, advanced in technology and education. Because of the advantages of his culture, he comes to help those less fortunate by starting schools, hospitals and preaching the Gospel. The word, “missionary” comes from the Latin word, “mitto” which means, “to send.” The Greek equivalent is “apostello.” A missionary then is someone who is sent with a commission from a higher authority – John 20:21; Acts 13:1-3. Some of the missionaries introduced to us in the Bible are Jonah, Barnabas, Silas, Timothy.
CONCLUSION Since God takes missions seriously, we as His people should not do less. We must find our place in the business of preaching the Gospel to the whole world and play our parts well.
Jesus only should be our message and nothing else.

Proverbs 3:11-12 “My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction; For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.”
Sometimes it is difficult to understand why certain things happen in your life. You need to trust God that He knows better and in spite of what seems to be a bad situation, He will always protect you and you will get through whatever you are going through. Many times God allows things in your life to build your character, so that His perfect will can be established in your life.
2-Timothy_3-16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
Proverbs 3:27-28 (AMP) “27 Withhold not good from those to whom it is due [its rightful owners], when it is in the power of your hand to do it. 28 Do not say to your neighbor, Go, and come again; and tomorrow I will give it–when you have it with you.”
Jesus said that one day everyone will stand before Him and have to give an account of the good they done while here on earth. As a matter of fact He said that many will say on that day that they done great works in His name; driving out demons and healing the sick, but they did not care for others in need. When the fire of God is burning in your heart, you will be compelled to give and share with others. Amen!

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
From the very first line of the Bible, God requires us to have faith. He doesn’t go into elaborate detail about who He is or how He created everything. God doesn’t lay out His case as a logical legal brief. He just states plainly, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Once you read these words you are compelled to either walk in faith and believe the Word of God or choose to dismiss it.
It’s clear that it takes faith to believe the Bible, because there are many unanswered questions. God wastes no time trying to talk us into believing His Word. The ability to believe God’s Word is a gift of faith from Him (Ephesians 2:8).
If you find yourself questioning the reality of God’s Word, then you need faith. How can you get faith? “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).
Read the Word of God, listen to the Word of God, repeat aloud the Word of God, meditate on the Word of God and sing God’s Word. This will allow faith to come-for without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

INTRODUCTION In our last lesson on divine missions, we were told who a missionary is so that we do not begin to have a wrong idea about him. Missionaries are people with a call. They are special. It is interesting to note that Jesus our Lord was a missionary. May the Spirit of the Lord open our hearts as we study, in Jesus’ name.

JESUS AS A MISSIONARY The most important aspect of the definition of a missionary is that a higher authority sent Jesus. Jesus said it several times that He was sent by the Father whom He said is greater than Him – John 7:16, 9:4,3:17,17:4. Jesus mentioned the fact that His father sent Him, forty three times in the Gospel of John as well as in the other Gospels. The purpose of this sending was that the world might be saved. Another thing about a missionary is that his work usually requires a change in location as well as culture. Jesus left Heaven, a different place, with a different culture, different language and a different people to come to this earth that is different in every way to Heaven so that we would know and serve the true God. He came to provide us with salvation and reconcile us to God – John 8:23; 5:33,38; Acts 26:16-18; Luke 19:10. What did Jesus do as a missionary? He taught publicly and ministered to the crowd. He taught both Jews and Gentiles such as the Samaritan woman in John 4 who recognised Him as the Saviour of the world. He met the Syro-pheonician woman (Matt. 15:21-28), the Roman Centurion (Matthew 8:5-13), healed the possessed man and other people in Decapolis (Matthew 5:1-20; 7:31-37.) Those Gentiles put their faith in Him as He helped them. He first sent them to the Jews and later to all nations. This is cross-cultural missions – Matthew 28:19-20; 10:5¬7. We must teach, preach and heal. We must be ready to suffer in order to take the Gospel to those not yet reached who are lost. We must complete His work by taking the news to them – Matthew 4:23.
JESUS AS A SENDER OF MISSIONARIES Jesus was not only a missionary but also sends out missionaries to all the nations of the world to preach the good news. Jesus, during His ministry on earth, said the good news about Him would be preached to the whole world. This did not materialise until His resurrection from the dead. Before He went back to Heaven, He commissioned all His disciples in what is generally known as, ”The Great Commission” to take the Gospel to all the nooks and crannies of the earth. We all are His disciples and therefore should be fully involved in carrying out His instructions – Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:45-49; John 20:21-22; Acts 1 :8. This instruction was given at various times. It was given on the resurrection day, as recorded by Mark, Luke and John, on the mount of Olives before His ascension and on the mount of Galilee as recorded by Matthew. This instruction was so important to Jesus that He had to give it more than once. He also gave Paul a similar call in Acts 26:16-18. The prayer of Jesus in John 17:18 clearly shows that sending people out was part of what Christ was sent to do.
CONCLUSION We cannot afford to disobey the Lord in this regard. If He takes it seriously, we must also.

SUN: James 1 :22 – Let us do the word that we may see the Lord.

Gratitude To God. Text: Psalm 107:21-27 They must thank the Lord for his constant love, for the wonderful things he did for them. 22 They must thank him with sacrifices, and with songs of joy must tell all that he has done.
23 Some sailed over the ocean in ships, earning their living on the seas. 24 They saw what the Lord can do, his wonderful acts on the seas. 25 He commanded, and a mighty wind began to blow and stirred up the waves. 26 The ships were lifted high in the air and plunged down into the depths. In such danger the sailors lost their courage; 27 they stumbled and staggered like drunks— all their skill was useless.
Why Should We Show Gratitude Or Give Thanks To The Lord? Psalm 107:1-3 “Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good; his love is eternal!” 2 Repeat these words in praise to the Lord, all you whom he has saved. He has rescued you from your enemies 3 and has brought you back from foreign countries, from east and west, from north and south.
Psalm 103:1-6 Praise the Lord, my soul! All my being, praise his holy name! 2 Praise the Lord, my soul, and do not forget how kind he is. 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. 4 He keeps me from the grave and blesses me with love and mercy. 5 He fills my life with good things, so that I stay young and strong like an eagle.
6 The Lord judges in favor of the oppressed and gives them their rights.
John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
How Do We Show Gratitude To God. 1. Keep track of what you are thankful for. Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
2. Vocalizing our “Thank You.” Psalm 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 3. Don’t complain 24 hours. 1 Corinthians 10:9-11 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
4. Recognize God’s hands to acknowledge him. Proverbs 3:5-6 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
5. Repent of our sin. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
6. Obey God’s commandment and to please Him. 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
7. To meditate on God’s Words. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
8. To rejoice in the Lord. Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
9. Praising God. Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.
Psalm 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
10. To be content with what we have. Philippians 4:12-13 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

“He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: He that cometh from heaven is above all” John 3:31
The text says that He that is from above is above all. The “He” refers to Jesus, He came from above and so He is above all. But since we are born again it refers to us also. When you gave your life to Christ, you entered into a relationship that catapulted you from the realm of failure to the realm of success for where Jesus is, is where you are also, because you are in Christ.
Jesus said except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God (John 3:3). Also except a man be born of the water and the Spirit he cannot enter the Kingdom of God (John 3:5). By the new Birth every believer is In Christ. The Bible goes on to say that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17). Yes your physical body does not change, but the real you does, your real you, your spirit man becomes new.
If you are in Christ, you are automatically where He is. He is above Satan and his cohorts. He is above sin, sickness, disease, poverty, death, depression, frustration, deception etc. that means that you, the believer, is above them too. Put on that mentality and rise above Satan’s intimidation and deception. You are born from above and so you are above all. Declare it three times to yourself with your eyes closed: “I am from above and so I am above all” Paint the imagination; see yourself above that challenge and it will come to pass – you have what you see.

Adam and Eve were sinless and perfect when God created them. But they still could choose to do what was wrong (just like you and I can choose to do what we aren’t supposed to do).
When the devil tempted them to eat the forbidden fruit, they chose to do it. Although people talk about Adam and Eve eating an “apple” in the Garden of Eden, we don’t know what the fruit looked like or how it tasted. All we know is that it was the one fruit in that big, beautiful Garden that they weren’t supposed to eat.
Adam and Eve ate the fruit because the devil started them thinking about what it might be like. Then he lied about God’s rule to make them think that God was keeping something good from them. Pretty soon they wanted to eat the fruit more than they wanted to obey God’s rule.
Choosing to obey God is always better than choosing to disobey Him!
May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

And He said unto them, “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest awhile: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat (Mark 6:31)
Many times we just work and work and don’t know when to give our bodies the necessary rest. It’s good to be hardworking and very diligent at work but at the same time it’s equally important to realize that the human body has a limit of exertion it can endure. Stretching it beyond that limit makes the body subject to unnecessary wear and tear.
It’s therefore important you take very good care of your body, not only in the things you eat and do to your body, but also in making sure your body is well rested. The Bible tells us how that God blessed and sanctified the seventh day: “because that in it He had rested from all work…..” (Genesis 2:3).
The Lord Jesus, as our opening scripture indicates, took time off with His disciples to rest. Then in Mark 4:38, we learnt that He rested His body in sleep when He got tired: “And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto Him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?” On another occasion, He rested at the well of Samaria as revealed in John 4:6: “Now Jacob’s well was there: Jesus therefore, being wearied with His journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour”
The Lord rested because He was tired. So it’s possible to get tired, and when you get tired, you need to rest your body so it can recover. Many don’t do this and the implication is that they stand the risk of wearing out their bodies. Giving your body adequate rest is a way to maintain good health, so take it very seriously.

DEAR FATHER, THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORD THAT HAS ENLIGHTENED ME ON THE NECESSITY AND IMPORTANCE OF TAKING GOOD CARE OF MY BODY. THROUGH YOUR HELP, I’M ABLE TO GIVE MY BODY THE NECESSARY REST IT REQUIRES TO REMAIN HEALTHY, STRONG AND FIT FOR THE TASK AHEAD. BE CONSCIOUS OF WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST JESUS
Jesus said unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet have thou not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father….. (John 14:9)
When Jesus walked the earth, He had the consciousness of a king that distinguished Him from the crowd. He had no consciousness of lack and He always confidently spoke words that amazed the religious people of His day.
One day, He said “the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” Jesus knew His Words weren’t empty; He was conscious of His divinity and boldly declared it. In John 6:38 He said “for I came down from Heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” What boldness and audacity! Everyone knew Him as the son of Joseph the carpenter, yet He declared He came down from heaven. Only a man who knew who He really was could speak this way. No wonder He had absolute mastery over the circumstances of this world.
Again, in John 8:12, He said, “I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not work in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Can you beat that? He didn’t come talking about the light, but says, I am the light of the world.” No wonder the soldiers that were sent to arrest Him one time, after hearing Him speak, concluded “No man ever spoke like this man.” (John 7:46)
But did you know Jesus also spoke about you and said “You are the light of the world?” (Matthew 5:14). Therefore everywhere you go, you ought also to declare with gusto, ‘I am the light of the world!” be conscious of who you are in Christ Jesus, be bold to call yourself what God has called you.
Jesus gave us an example to follow of how to live victoriously on the earth. His consciousness of who He was controlled everything He said and did. You also can live as successfully as He did by following this principle. But first you need to have the Holy Spirit, for He’s the one who brings boldness into your spirit by making the consciousness of who you are in Christ Jesus real to you.
CONFESSION
I have in me the consciousness of a victor. I know who I am and I walk in the consciousness of this reality. I’m the light of the world and the salt of the earth. I walk in prosperity, peace, and divine health. Nothing can stop my progress for I have in me the yeast of greatness! Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the World! Amen!
