Why Should I Sing?

“Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.”Isaiah 54:1

I can understand it when I sing because things are all right for me in every area of life – I have a good job, I am married and I have children. My business is doing fine; I have passed my exams with distinction. These and many more are good reasons to sing.

However, If the reverse is the case and the instruction still remains to break forth into singing as the text today suggests, it is a paradox.
