Text: Proverbs 5:21

The passage for today is Proverbs 5:21. It says, “For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he watches all his paths.” This means that God is always watching us and he knows everything we do.

We should live our lives in a way that pleases God, knowing that he is always watching. We should not do anything that we would be ashamed of if God saw it.

We should also be thankful for God’s constant presence in our lives. He is always there to help us and guide us. We can trust him with our lives and know that he will never leave us or forsake us.

Let us live our lives for God’s glory, knowing that he is always watching and that he loves us very much.

DAY 5: STANDING UPRIGHT IN VICTORY

BIBLE TEXT: Psalms 20:8, 16:6

INTRODUCTION: Life is a battle. As children of Light, we often find ourselves in battle against forces of darkness, however, there are assurances in the scripture that as long as we remain in the light, we are winners all the time. May these prayers, grounded in God’s Word, strengthen our faith and equip us to stand upright in victory over all enemies in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, we thank You for assured victory, by delivering us from the hands of all our enemies in Jesus’ name Psa 34:17

2. Father, strengthen us to stand upright in the face of our enemies, always trusting in Your power for victory in Jesus’ name. Isa 40:31

3. Father, cover us with Your protection so that no weapon formed against us shall prosper in Jesus’ name. Isa 54:17

4. Father, strengthen our faith in the truth over all adversaries in Jesus’ name. 1 John 5:4

5. Father, go before us in every battle and let Your presence bring us victory in Jesus’ name. Exo 14:14

6. Father, help us stand upright in righteousness so that our enemies will not have a foothold in our lives in Jesus’ name. Prov 10:30

7. Father, remove all fear from hearts and grant us the courage to face our enemies with boldness in Jesus’ name. 2 Tim 1:7

8. Father, guide our steps so that we may walk in victory and not be shaken by the plans of our enemies in Jesus’ name. Psa 37:23

9. Father, grant us complete victory over every scheme and trap set by my Satan in Jesus’ name. Psa 23:5

10. Father, give us strength to endure trials and to emerge victorious in every battle in Jesus’ name. Jam 1:12

11. Father, intervene in our situation and scatter every enemy that rises against us in Jesus’ name. Psa 68:1

12. Father, help us to stand in Your victory, knowing that; You are our salvation and stronghold. Psa 27:1

13. Father, empower us to triumph over all evil and to stand as a testimony of Your goodness in Jesus’ name. Rom 12:21

14. Father, help us to remain stable and firm in our faith in You in Jesus’ name. 1 Cor 15:58

15. Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we declare victory over all our enemies in Jesus’ name. Psa 44:5

INTRODUCTION:

Man, though created in God’s image fell and lost smooth fellowship with God. God sent His only son, Jesus Christ to pay the price for the sin of man through His mercy, therefore as many that will confess and forsake their sins, the Lord is ready to forgive by His mercy. It is time to cry to God for mercy and forgiveness.

PRAYER POINTS:

1. Father, stretch forth your hands of mercy and forgive me all my past errors in Jesus name.Ps.51:1.

2. Father, let mercy reign over judgment in my life, in Jesus name. Jam.2:13

3. Father have mercy on me and forgive me my iniquities, in Jesus name. Ps.51:1-3

4. Father let your goodness and mercies follow me all the days of my life, in Jesus name. Psa 23:6

5. Father, hear the voice of my plea for your mercy, in Jesus name. Psa 28:2

13. Oh my God, in the multitudes of your mercies please let me obey and serve you as I have never done before in Jesus name. Psa 69:16

14. Father, we ask for your mercies over every error we have committed in your church and our gatherings in Jesus name.

“Entering Your Rest: A Devotional on Perseverance and Faith”

ENTERING YOUR REST.

MOMENTS FOR REFLECTION.

“Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief” [HEBREWS 4:11].

Good morning and welcome to this beautiful day. Beloved be reminded to be part of this evening’s Bible study, you will be tremendously blessed by it as you enter your rest in Jesus Christ name! Amen.

“There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God” [HEBREWS 4:9]. Have you been labouring so hard and wondering when you will enter into your rest? Are the trials, temptations and difficulties you often encounter along the pilgrim’s way getting at you?

Friend, are you asking God: when will it be over so that I can truly have a sigh of relief? Rejoice, it will soon be over in Jesus name. You will soon enter into your rest. You will soon arrive at your promised land. Do not waste your years of labour.  One of these days, it could even be sooner than you thought, you will arise into a glorious dawn.

All your worries and struggles will be over. You shall not die before entering into your rest. All the plans of the gates of hell to derail you from making it to heaven will fail. You will reach your goal in Jesus Christ name! Amen.

“Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief” [HEBREWS 4:11]. God is encouraging you to continue the fight. Every move you make in righteousness, faith, service to God is taking you closer to your rest.

However, if there was a time to be very careful it is now. You may have gone more than one-quarter, one-third, half or even three -quarters of your journey into the city of rest. You may just have a very short time left hence you need to be more careful now than when you first believed.

Why do you have to be extra careful? Some believers were careless and slipped away when they were very close to their promised land. Some could not enter because of being mentally attached to the Egypt they left years ago [NUMBERS 11:4 -6].

Some became offended and began to murmur and complain over every slight problem [EXODUS 15:24]; Some engaged in negative confessions to their destruction [NUMBERS 14:27-30]; Others were swept off their feet by lust of the flesh [NUMBERS 11:4, 18 -20, 31 -34].

It was unbelief that sank the faith of some [HEBREWS 4:11] etc. Remember Moses could not enter into the Promised Land he was to take the Israelites into because of anger. This is the time to check those little, little things in your life capable of hindering your entry.

Beloved, prayerfully expunge them and yield totally to God. Keep on working for the Lord. Keep on your fight of faith! It will soon be over and you will finish well and strong in Jesus Christ amazing and victorious name! Amen.

Dear friend, you are tired of your impossible spouse. All attempts to have a peaceful home has failed. You are strongly considering divorce. Don’t! A way is around the corner. Ask God in Jesus Christ precious name Amen-Shalom.

“Morning Prayer: Seeking God’s Presence and Guidance”

Morning Prayer

Thank you, Lord, for creating me and delighting in me. Thank you for calling my name and speaking to my heart. Thank you that your life in me is ever growing. Open my eyes to see your presence with me today. Come and dwell within me so that I can give you glory.

Lord, I am honoured that you have called me. As I have heard your call to faith, teach me to be ready and willing to respond to your call and to follow you. Give me the courage to walk in the path you have set out for me. Give me the grace to take another step toward the perfection you want for me. May I follow without hesitation wherever you are leading me.

Holy Spirit, I am determined to walk with you today and always. I trust that you will help see me through. Inflame my heart with your love and bring my spiritual instincts to life. Help me to accept and act on all the grace you have for me. Give me the desire to follow you and remain close to you. Help me to hear and do all that you ask today and always in The Mighty Name Of Jesus Christ AMEN

Praising God for What He Does

TEXT: Psalm 146: 1-10(NKJV)

146:1. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul!

146:2. While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

146:3. Do not put your trust in princes, [Nor] in a son of man, in whom [there is] no help.

146:4. His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.

146:5. Happy [is he] who [has] the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope [is] in the LORD his God,

146:6. Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that [is] in them; Who keeps truth forever,

146:7. Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The LORD gives freedom to the prisoners.

146:8. The LORD opens [the eyes of] the blind; The LORD raises those who are bowed down; The LORD loves the righteous.

146:9. The LORD watches over the strangers; He relieves the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked He turns upside down.

146:10. The LORD shall reign forever — Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the LORD!

STUDY:

This Psalm is “the first of five joyous hymns of praise that close the Psalter” (The Ryrie Study Bible). It opens with a call to praise (vv. 1-5). The writer declared that he would praise the Lord while he lived (v.2). He listed the reasons for the praise as the greatness of God (v.6) and the graciousness of God (vv.7-10): God made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them. God executes justice for the oppressed, gives food to the hungry, gives freedom to the prisoners, opens the eyes of the blind, raises those who are bowed down, helps widows and orphans among other things He does. We cannot enumerate all that God does to warrant our praising Him. The truth is that our experiences of God are different and the way we praise Him sometimes is based on our personal experiences. Do you feel there is nothing worthwhile God has done for you-just praise Him that you are alive today. That gives you more opportunity to be hopeful.”… A living dog is better than a dead lion” (Eccl. 9:4). You can also praise God for who He is; a great and mighty God!

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, may I always see reasons to praise you daily in my life in Jesus Christ mighty name I pray! Amen.

26.  And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.

27 . And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.

28.  And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.

29.  And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.

MESSAGE:

In my primary school days, our teacher told us the story of a man who offended his king. The king was very angry and called the man concerning the issue. The man immediately got on his knees and pleaded for mercy. He admitted his offence and said that he was very sorry. The king pardoned him because of his repentant heart. Our teacher told us that if we are wrong and admit it while asking for mercy, we will obtain mercy. However, if we try to cover our wrongs, we will surely get punished. The lesson stuck with me, and so, when I do something wrong, I don’t try to cover it. If I offend God, I turn to Him and say, “Lord, I have offended you, please have mercy on me.”

If you want to obtain mercy from God, you must not cover any sins that you commit. The reason God always had mercy on David is that he never tried to cover his sins; rather, he would confess them to God. In 1 Chronicles 21:1-16, when Gad came to tell David that he had offended God, not only did David accept his wrong, he called the elders to fast and pray with him for forgiveness. Compare that to Saul in 1 Samuel 15:20-21. After Samuel had come to tell him that he had not carried out God’s instruction to the letter, he made excuses instead of accepting his wrong. When Samuel refused to worship God with him, he did not plead with him to help appease God, rather, he pulled Samuel’s skirt just because he didn’t want the elders to see Samuel walking away from him. He clearly wasn’t making the sacrifice to ask for mercy, he was doing it to cover his sin and make everything look alright. 1 Samuel 3:19 tells us that God honoured Samuel and never allowed his words to fall to the ground, but in 1 Samuel 16:1, as much as Samuel pleaded for Saul, God said that he should not waste his time because He had rejected Saul.

Beloved, covering your sins will land you in destruction. When you do something wrong, don’t try to keep up appearances. Your Christian life is not about publicity, it is more of your personal relationship with the King of kings.

Confess your sins and plead with God for mercy. When you do that, He will have mercy on you, but if you cover your sins, you are risking His total rejection.

Action Point:

Don’t cover your sins; confess them and repent genuinely.

PRAYER POINTS

1.   Father, thank You for the Blood of Sprinkling that cleanses us from all sins

2.   Father, give me the grace to run to You in genuine repentance instead of away from You whenever I sin in Jesus Name

3.   Father, give me understanding to realise that obedience is more important to You than service to You.

4.   Father, I ask for the grace never to reject Your Word sent to me in Jesus Name

5.   Father, preserve me from the fear of men so as not to ensnare my soul in Jesus Name. 

6.  Father, help me never to cross Your red lines such that there be no more room for repentance or mercy in Jesus Name.

7.   Father, in Your great mercy grant Your Church especially her leaders a true repentant heart when we sin and miss it in Jesus Name
