Theme: The immediate and dangerous consequences of neglecting harvest

Texts: Luke 19:41-45. John. 15:6; Proverb 1:32; Hosea 4:6; Luke 9:62

INTRODUCTION: Dwindling harvest is not just a problem—it is a danger signal. It means something is already going wrong. In the Kingdom, harvest does not just reduce without consequence—it triggers loss, judgment, and missed divine opportunities. Jesus wept over Jerusalem—not because there was no activity, but because they missed their time of visitation. That is the real peril: not noise, not busyness—but missing what God is doing now. In this season of RCCG Vision 2032, dwindling harvest is not something to manage—it is something to confront urgently. Because when harvest declines, souls are lost, momentum dies, and divine opportunities close.

PART 1: THE PERIL OF LOST SOULS — HARVEST LEFT IN THE FIELD (John 4:35) When harvest dwindles, souls don’t wait—they are lost.

• Unreached people drift further away

• Interested hearts grow cold

• Opportunities expire. Every neglected harvest is a soul that may never return. See delay as danger. Evangelism must be urgent, not occasional.

PART 2: THE PERIL OF WASTED SEED — EFFORT WITHOUT RESULT (Luke 8:14) Seeds are being sown—but choked.

• Outreach without follow-up

• Converts without discipleship

• Messages without transformation. Not all harvest is lost in the field—some is lost after it enters your hands. If you don’t preserve the harvest, you are wasting it.

PART 3: THE PERIL OF SPIRITUAL DRIFT — LOSING GOD’S PRESENCE (John 15:6) “If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth…” A dwindling harvest is often a sign of disconnection from God.

• Prayer becomes weak

• Sensitivity to the Spirit fades

• Power reduces When God’s presence reduces, harvest reduces. Guard your connection—because harvest flows from presence

PART 4: THE PERIL OF DIVINE REJECTION – LOSING TRUST AND ASSIGNMENT. (Matthew 25:28–30)

The unproductive servant didn’t lose effort—he lost opportunity.

• What was given was taken.

• What could have grown was reassigned. God removes responsibility from those who refuse to multiply. RCCG Vision 2032 Charge

• If you don’t multiply what the mission has committed to you, then you stand the risk of losing it.

• If you fail in increasing your harvest as per the RCCG Vision 2032 mandate, you stand the risk of losing opportunities for promotion.

• If you don’t use what God gave you, you may lose it.

PART 5: THE PERIL OF CLOSED SEASONS — MISSED DIVINE TIMING. (LUkE 19:44) “…because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.”

Harvest is time-sensitive.

• There is a window

• There is a moment

• There is a season. What is not harvested in its season may never be harvested again. RCCG Vision 2032 Charge

• Don’t just work—work now.

• Dwindling harvest is not a slowdown—it is a warning that something critical is being lost.

REFLECTION

• What harvest opportunities have I already missed?

• Where am I allowing souls to slip through neglect?

• Is my current activity producing lasting fruit—or temporary results?

• Am I drifting spiritually without realizing it?

• What has God entrusted to me that I am not multiplying?

CONCLUSION

The peril of dwindling harvest is real and immediate. It is not just about smaller results or church attendance—it is about lost souls, wasted effort, reduced power, and missed divine moments. What is ignored today may be unrecoverable tomorrow. In RCCG Vision 2032, this is not the time to slow down, relax, or assume things will improve. This is the time to act with urgency, recover lost ground, and engage aggressively in evangelism and follow-up. Because harvest delayed is harvest endangered—and harvest endangered can become harvest lost.

Thank You Jesus,

Salvation Prayer

If you don’t Know Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour and would like to accept him into your life as your personal Lord and Saviour, Please say this prayer:

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward You. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that Your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your Will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
