I am a fun loving young Nigerian and a Christian,  who loves God and isn’t ashamed to flaunt it,
and if you have being blessed by this Christian blog site, and you haven’t
given your life to Christ Jesus, I now invite you to make Jesus Christ The Lord
of your life by sincerely saying this prayer:

“Dear Lord God, My Heavenly Father, I come to You in the
Name of Jesus Christ. Your Word says, “…..whosoever
shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved”
(Acts 2:21).

I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the LORD of my life.
I receive eternal life into my spirit and according to Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from
the dead, thou shalt be saved,”
I declare that I am saved; I am born –
again; I am a child of God! I now have Christ dwelling in me, and greater is He
that is in me than he that is in the world! (1 John 4:4). I now walk in the
consciousness of my new life in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah! Amen!

Congratulations! You are now a child of God.

Always, expect a new post daily!

  6. BUMMYLA,
Dear Brother, I was wondering about the Church of God? Is it the same that originally was part of the Church of God, that used to have their headquarters in Cleveland Tennesee?
If so, I was raised up in that church. My grandfather was a pastor, than overseer, and Bishop.
My father also had his ministers license in that church.
One thing, I grew up with straight bible teachings, very good, and in context.
    Bless you,
    Teresa

  13. KEEP LIVING FOR GOD
Rather Than Pollute Your Christian Experience, Keep Living For God

“He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.”

    2 Corinthians 5:15 (NLT)

What we as believers must realize is that we are fighting an adversary that is putting people under pressure so that they will deny their faith. But you must come to a point where you take some quality decisions like the three Hebrew friends who said to Nebuchadnezzar, O king we are not careful to answer you in this matter. Our God is able to deliver us but we want you to understand that even if He is not able to, we are ready to die and go to meet Him. Rather than pollute your Christian experience, keep living for God. Whether anyone is there or not, it is a personal responsibility to keep living your life to please Him.

2 Peter 3:13 says “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness”. When you are living for Him, expect a manifestation. Keep your expectations high that things will change. Keep hope alive. God will visit you and it will not end on a bad note, no matter how it looks. You will come out of this situation. No matter the pressure or challenge always remember that this is the day that the Lord has made for you to rejoice and be glad in it. When you continue to hope in God and the breakthrough comes then it will be your day.

There is always a day out of the days that the Lord has made for your own visitation. So you have to keep hope alive because there is no manifestation for anyone who does not have hope. Spiritual hope is confident expectation that it will happen. You must continue to believe that it just has to happen. God will step in. He will come through for me and I know He will. You must keep hope alive any time the enemy tries to create doubt in your heart. Remind yourself it will still happen. I declare to you today that your hope will not be denied and your expectation will not be cut off. You will testify in Jesus name.

  14. RCCG 77-Hours Marathon Praise For Pastor E A Adeboye’s 77th Birthday.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) plans 77 hours of praise to celebrate the 77th birthday of its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, according to its National Music Director, Pastor Kunle Ajayi.

Ajayi told newsmen at a news conference in Lagos on Saturday that the ‘77 Hours Marathon Messiah’s Praise’ entitled ‘JESUS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD’, would not only celebrate the cleric, but open up Nigeria to new things.

He said that the celebration, slated for Feb. 25 to Feb. 28 at the Youth Centre, Redemption Camp, Lagos-Ibadan Express Way, would also involve many other countries.

“We are dedicating the 77 hours this year to praise our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ whose life became our light,” Ajayi said.

According to him, countries that will be participating in the praise include Nigeria, United States of America, Canada, England, Australia, Spain, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Israel and Zambia.

Other countries are Cameroon, Kenya, Netherlands, Sweden, Malaysia, South Africa, Ukraine, Ghana, New Zealand and Ireland.

“This is a giant step in our quest to bring ‘Marathon Messiah’s Praise’ to the doorstep of every living being on the planet,” he said

Ajayi said that to ensure a hitch-free programme, over 5,000 people have registered to volunteer in various departments and in other various key sectors of the programme across the participating countries.

“Over 120,000 live participants are expected to be in attendance with over 10 million viewers expected to watch the event on TV and social media channels.

“This year’s MARATHON MESSIAH’S PRAISE will be the greatest in its series and we are confident that as we praise the Great Redeemer, He will do something new in Nigeria.

“As we are coming towards the electioneering time, God is going to give Nigerians good and credible leaders.

“There will be a harvest of souls, miracles, signs and wonders, restoration, peace, progress and divine intervention across the globe,” he said.

    Psalms 121:2
    Read.
    Psalms 121:1-8.
    1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
    2. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
    3. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
    4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
    5. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
    6. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
    8. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

    Message.

It has been said that one of the common features of Christianity is the diverse conflict that is targeted at a child of God from the moment of conversion; it presents itself as a permanent companion in the journey of life, and appears to become more intense as you progress in the Christian race.
These conflicts may come in the form of physical, emotional, and spiritual attacks. They could sometimes be manifested as temptations, financial trouble, physical or health challenges, vocational problems, obstacles and obstructions, sickness or death of a loved one, stagnancy, discouragement, failure, depression, and family problems.
Many of these may appear normal, but some are direct attacks on children of God, to hate, despise, persecute, oppress, blackmail, and even kill them. Yet, in the face of such malicious attacks, many Christians have persevered and stood firm in their convictions, with great grace and in defiant faith.
Such people were able to stand in the face of evil, holding on to God’s promises for help. One of such could be found in Hebrews 13:5-6 that says “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”
I pray that as you look up to God for help and assistance today, He will send help to you and you will never be disappointed in Jesus’ name. Like the saints of old, we are expected to build our confidence on the sure promises of God. King David in his affliction said, “My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:2) thereby revealing the source of his confidence.
In the above passage, the word of God says, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”. Because of this sure promise of God which can never fail, we may say with confidence that the Lord is our helper, a sure and dependable help in times of trouble. I decree into your life today, God will always be there for you as a reliable ally against all evil attacks in the name of Jesus.
A simple analysis of the statement “I will not fear what man shall do unto me” implies the inevitability of determined evil actions of men, but the Bible is saying that even in the face of such evil threats, we should not become fearful but remain confident, knowing that God will never fail us.
However, there are conditions that a true Christian must meet to guarantee His assistance. We must be free from covetousness, and be satisfied with whatever we have. People with uncontrollable desires for delicacies, designer wears, social status, high offices or positions, and other worldly attractions, are usually a little desperate and unstable.
Such people will do anything, including lowering their Christian standards, in order to retain positions that support their livelihood at all cost. You will not be driven by fear to sell-out your birth right or backslide into error in Jesus’ Name.
The promises of God are perfectly reliable because “God is not a man, that he should lie”, if God be for us, who can be against us? Who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? Our confidence rests absolutely upon the promise of God. Hallelujah.
    Prayer Point.
Father, my confidence rests upon Your Holy Word, please be there for me always in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  17. Dangers Of Envy. Sermon And Prayer Point By Pastor E A Adeboye

    Memorise
And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.
    Genesis 30:1

    Read: Numbers 16:29-35
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.
30 But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.
31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
34 And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.
35 And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.

    Message
Envy is a terrible character flaw that everyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour must completely give up. Envy can lead to the murder of the one being envied or the murder of his or her dreams. Many polygamous families are wrapped up in envy. The mark of a place where there is envy is confusion and evil. James 3:16 says:
“For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”
As much as it lies within your power, avoid such places, because the Spirit of God will not stay in a place where there is confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). In such places, people go to any extent to discredit, poison, afflict and destroy their own out of envy. If you are driven by envy, you are on a satanic mission: a self-destructive mission that will definitely lead to regret someday. Today, some churches are envy-driven. Do you know that some pastors go to set up their own ministries out of envy? The foundation of such ministries is faulty from the beginning, and if you dare to check, God is completely out of it. Are you driven by envy? What are you doing as a result of envy? Repent and amend your ways today before it is too late.

There is a great price the envious always has to pay. This price could have a physical, emotional and spiritual component. The price for envy can be very costly! You would be amazed at what that tiny envy in your heart towards your neighbour can take out of you. Envy can erode the blessings of the envious. If you do not want to lose your blessings, completely abstain from it. Korah, Dathan and Abiram paid dearly for the envy that led them to rebel against their leader – Moses (Numbers 16:1-3). God publicly set them aside to show everyone that they had done the wrong thing. God, who earlier appointed them as leaders under Moses, openly discredited them. Thereafter, the ground swallowed them up together with their households. Envy made sure their generation was terminated. That envy in your heart can terminate your future generations! Greed and envy are two tools the devil uses to destroy future generations and destinies! Gehazi’s greed brought leprosy to his generation (2 Kings 5:27), while the envy of Korah, Dathan and Abiram completely wiped out their generations. Check your heart! That tiny looking seed of envy that appears harmless today can become your greatest undoing. Ask God to help you uproot it now.

    Prayer Point
Father, in Your mercy, uproot and destroy completely every trace of envy in my heart.

  18. Chosen For Laughter. Sermon and prayer point by Pastor E A Adeboye

    Memorise
And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
    Genesis 21:6

    Read: Genesis 21:1-6
1 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.

    Message
We serve a God that fills the mouth of his chosen with laughter. Some chosen of the Lord testified of this in Psalms 126:2 saying:
“Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.”
In Genesis 18:1-14, when the Lord visited Abraham and Sarah and ate in their tent, He promised them that they would have a son in nine months’ time; but Sarah laughed because her husband was over 99 years old and she herself was 90 years old. She thought that this promise was a joke borne out of how much the three august visitors enjoyed the meal that she and Abraham had prepared. God asked why she laughed, but she denied that she laughed. Nine months later, she gave birth to laughter, and she laughed for the rest of her life (Genesis 21:6). Today, God still makes people laugh.
When God makes you laugh, your laughter will be sustained. But how can God make you laugh today? God makes you laugh when you receive an unexpected divine visitation. It is one thing for you to pay God a visit, like when you attend a church programme or a special programme like the Holy Ghost Service; but it is another thing for God to visit you. It is a beautiful experience when God visits a congregation or group of people, but it is even lovelier when God picks out an individual in a large congregation for divine visitation. The Lord will single you out for a divine visitation this season in Jesus’ Name.

In John 5:2-9, there was a multitude of sick folks at the pool called Bethesda, but when Jesus visited there, He went straight for the man who had been sick for 38 years, healed him and left the place. In like manner, in Mark 10:46-52, Jesus entered Jericho and passed through it looking for whom to visit. He saw none in Jericho, but as He was leaving, in the midst of a crowd, he saw a blind beggar outside the city gate, healed him and continued with His journey. As Jesus healed these people, He introduced laughter into their lives.
There was no record that either of them was ever sick again. Whatever criteria He uses to determine candidates for His visitation shall work in your favour today. Out of the crowd of those who need children, the Lord will visit you with yours. Out of the crowd of those who need promotion, the Lord will promote you. Out of the crowd of those who need special anointing, the Lord will visit you specially today. However, flee from sin, and do only what pleases Him. Be faithful in your tithes and offerings, and worship Him.

    Prayer Point
Father, I have wept for too long; from now on, introduce laughter into my life and make me laugh forever.

  19. Boasting Disallowed. Sermon And Prayer Point By Pastor E A Adeboye

    Memorise
And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
    1 Corinthians 8:2

    Read: Psalm 49:6-7
    6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

    Message
An individual who believes he or she is wiser than other people is proud. Proverbs 26:12 says:
“Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.”
It is bad enough to be a fool, but this Scripture tells us that a person who thinks he knows more than every other person is in worse shape. While there may still be a ray of hope left for the fool, the case of the proud is almost completely hopeless. 1 Corinthians 8:2 says:
“And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.”

It is what some people know that makes them proud (1 Corinthians 8:1). The knowledge of God that you have should not generate pride in you but strength (Daniel 11:32). As a husband, if you say you are not proud, why then is it that you don’t entertain the useful suggestions of your wife? As a leader, do you operate with others under you as if you are the custodian of knowledge? If you are not proud, you will be able to learn from your subordinates and even from children. Believe it or not, there are lots of advice, useful suggestions and other blessings God will be sending to you through your subordinates and those under you; but if you are not ready to humble yourself to receive these, you may likely miss them.

One way of identifying the proud is through their boastings. A proud fellow will not only brag about what he can do, but also about several things he cannot do, all in a bid to make him look bigger than who he really is. As a child of God, you are expected to avoid boasting because several variables in life are completely out of your control (James 4:14-16). Hence, our Bible reading says even when you are wealthy, never put your trust in your wealth or boast about what you have. Money may buy you a water bed, but it cannot buy you sleep. What is the use of a water bed without the ability to sleep? Also, you may be the richest man in the world, and yet with all your wealth, you cannot buy salvation for yourself or for your brother. Money can buy a beautiful wife but not a good name. Do you boast of your accomplishments? You need to be broken. Forget whatever you may have achieved and yield yourself to the hands of the Lord, asking God to mould you as He deems fit.

    Key Point
Pride, like smoke, cannot be covered. Before long, it will be seen in the carriage or conduct of its host.

    Message
The Moment You Gave Your Life To Jesus Christ, A Battle Line Was Drawn Between You And The Kingdom Of Darkness. Unhappy That He Has Lost You To God’s Kingdom, Satan’s Main Goal Is To Secure Your Return To His Kingdom. One Major Tool He Tries To Use In Accomplishing This Mission Is Temptation. The Devil And His Agents Will Bring Temptations Your Way To Make You To Do Things That Would Break Your Relationship With God. This Is Where Prayer Comes In. Prayer Is One Veritable Tool That Prevents You From Falling Into Satan’s Traps. This Is Why Jesus Urged His Disciples At The Garden Of Gethsemane To Pray. Luke 22:40 Says:
“And When He Was At The Place, He Said Unto Them, Pray That Ye Enter Not Into Temptation.”

When You Pray, The Strength To Overcome Temptations Is Released To You. A Christian Who Fails To Pray Will Sooner Or Later Become A Victim Of The Tempter. The Extent To Which You Will Overcome Temptations Is Determined By How Robust Your Prayer Life Is. If You Have Been Rising And Falling So Often, Check Your Prayer Life And The Way You Study God’s Word. If You Can Improve On Both, You Will Experience More Stability In Your Faith.

One Of The Modus Operandi Of Satan Is To Show You Dazzling Sights That Could Tempt You To Follow Him. In Other Words, He Presents An Object Of Temptation In A Bright And Attractive Way; Repainting An Evil Thing In Brilliant And Attractive Colours. For Instance, A Prostitute Is Labelled A Commercial Sex Worker, In Order To Support The Excuse That He Or She Is Simply Trying To Earn A Living, Whereas The Essence Of Prostitution Is Fornication And Adultery. In Tempting People, The Devil And His Agents Make Sin Look Attractive And Inviting, Almost With An Air Of Irresistibility. Prayer Deadens These Illusions By Painting Sin In Its Real Colours. Every Time You Pray Over An Object Of Temptation, It Becomes Less Inviting And Less Attractive.

As You Pray, The Desire To Sin Is Brought Under Subjection. Through Prayer, We Obtain Grace To Walk In The Reality Of The Truth That Our Flesh Has Been Crucified (Galatians 5:24). Prayer Strengthens Our Spirit Man And Keeps The Flesh Where It Belongs: Crucified And Dead On The Cross Of Calvary (Romans 6:6). It Connects Your Spirit With The Holy Spirit And Separates You From The Devil, By Moving Your Focus Towards Heaven And Away From The Allure Of The World. How Prayerful Are You? No Believer In Christ Can Triumph Without Using The Weapon Of Prayer.

    Prayer Point:
Father, Please Give Me The Grace To Pray Like Jesus Prayed While On Earth.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness –

    2 Timothy 3:16.

    Read.
    2nd Timothy 3:1-8
    1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
    2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
    3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
    4. Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
    5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
    6. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
    7. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
    8. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

    Message.

A deceiver is someone who practices deceit as means of seducing, misleading, or giving false impressions to people. A deceiver would try to impose a false idea that causes bewilderment, helplessness, or confusion in people’s mind. Every act of deception is a direct attack against the truth for the purpose of distorting the original creative order and position of things by the Almighty God.
Deception is therefore the devil’s invention which has been carefully designed to create doubts and questions about the credibility of God in the hearts of men. This is the reason why deceit is condemned by God as an attempt to deny His sovereignty and the revelation of Himself.
After the devil’s successful attack on Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:1-7, God repeatedly warned humanity about the subtlety of Satan and his false prophets. Matthew 24:11 says “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”
The whole of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation is full of similar warnings about the deliberate plot of devil to send his evil agents of deception in form of false prophets and heretic teachers into the world, in order to deceive and mislead many. These deadly agents of deception have perfected the means of attacking unsuspecting individuals from two seemingly harmless fronts.
One of their tactics is to preach the gospel of the alternative. They claim to be serving the same God through another saviour, and therefore present their religion as a better alternative to Christianity that only has the appearance of the Christian religion on the surface, but is full of heresy, ungodliness, and immorality in actual practice.
To this end 1st Timothy 4:1-2 says “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter time some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;”
In the above passage, the Word of God is making it very clear to us that the activities of these agents of darkness will become very concentrated and effective in the latter days, such that it will cause some believers to depart from the faith.
This will happen because those affected would commit the error of giving heed to seducing spirits. They would be seduced through the preaching of other gospels, the gospel of relativism, modernism and post-modernism, and through attractive motivational messages.
To counter the evil, we must turn to 2 Timothy 3:16. God has given us all scripture by His inspiration, to be profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. Dangerous heretic teachings are in the air, but anyone that abides in the Word of God, can never be deceived. Be warned.

45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

    Message.

Apostasy in Christendom refers to religious rebellion. It is the withdrawal of loyalty or a breaking away from the leadership or authority of God. An apostate is a practicing Christian that once pledge allegiance to God and the Bible doctrines, then afterwards turned back to live contrary to his avowed belief and declaration of faith. On the other hand, a reformer refers to a person that is making efforts to bring back those that strayed from godly commitments, to the proper form of Christian life. A reformer would do everything possible to instruct apostates, Christians and unbelievers, in the complete renewal of biblical instructions of Christianity.
Apostasy occurred in several places in the Bible, and each occurrence reveals God’s displeasure and terrible anger against apostates and anyone that incites the people to rebel against Him. I have frequently shared stories of several individuals who came to accept Jesus at the peak of their troubles when their situations were hopeless, and later decided to abandon God after they had received divine solutions to their problems through Jesus. Some years ago, when we tried to follow-up on one of such people, he said that a hospitalised fellow is usually allowed to go home after a successful medical treatment. He viewed the Church as a hospital and though he didn’t have any business with God whatsoever after being healed. The end of such ungrateful and rebellious people is always worse than their beginning. I pray that you will not be overcome by the spirit of apostasy in Jesus’ name. Hebrew 6 : 4 – 6 says :
“For it is possible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.”
It is important to note that apostasy is not a casual sin but a voluntary rejection of God’s will. It is a conscious departure from the Fatherhood of God, and a deliberate walk away from Jesus Christ and everything He stands for. This is the reason why the above Bible passage presents apostasy as a terrible error that is virtually impossible to remediate. May the Lord deliver anyone that is in any form of backsliding today in Jesus’ name.
On the other hand, the main assignment of a reformer is to call the Church of God and His people into genuine repentance and a careful reconciliation between contemporary Christian practice and Bible doctrines. The body of Christ must be delivered from end-time lukewarmness, modernism, and the doctrine of relativity that is presently holding it in captivity. May we yield ourselves to be used as the Lord raises reformers that will re-ignite the fire of revival in the body of Christ today in Jesus’ name.
    KEY POINT.

  25. God’s Love.
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?”
    Romans 6:1 (KJV)

Today, I thought it necessary to balance the message of grace so you do not run off saying you have been forgiven and therefore can indulge freely in sin. The best way to explain the grace of God is to take a look at the love of God. Let us take a look at this example. If you as a child know that your Daddy loves you very much, is always there for you; takes you to school, attends several extra curricula activities like sports with you, is always ready to assist you with your assignment and everything you come to him with. As a child, you know that you will reciprocate by loving him and as a result of your love for your Daddy, there are some things you will not do; not because he said you must not do it, but because you love him too much to hurt him. I am sure you can identify with that. There are some things that may not be wrong out rightly, but because you are not sure of your Daddy’s disposition towards those things, you would most likely rather hold on and find out his opinion first, just because you do not want to hurt him.

That is the same thing with a believer. When you understand the love of God, you do not want to upset Him. You do not want to do anything that will make the devil mock Him. You want to be the son or daughter that He will be proud of. That is what God expects of us. Take time to think of the love of God – the more you understand His love, the less you will commit sin because the only thing that will appeal to you will be to make God happy.

If that be the case, there is no way you will want to continue in sin. Yes, you can fall into sin once in a while, but you will not dwell in sin. You cannot deliberately want to hurt God because you love Him. You want to see Him happy with you and saying “well done my child”. When you understand the love of God, you will be dead to sin.

It is my prayer that the Lord will open your eyes to show you His love.

    MESSAGE.

    Peace is the result of one’s communion with God. Peace is an inner rest that cannot be expressed in words. Every God given direction and instruction is accompanied by peace. This is why the Psalmist said;

“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.” – Psalms 23:2

When God leads, it is always in the path that guarantees peace and rest. Whenever you want to make a decision and you lose your peace, there is a need for you to re-examine that decision because, if you do not have peace concerning that thing, God may not be involved. All the battles of my life till date have been fought by God; I just fold my hands and bask in His rest. There are people running from one point to the other, until you allow the peace of God to come into your heart, God cannot be at work in your life. With the peace of God in your life, there will be achievements of many feats. With the peace of God in your life, triumphs in your pursuits are guaranteed. As disciples of Jesus, we must seek for peace of God above all things and this can be achieved when we make our ways right with Him.

“Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.” – Job 22:21

    We must return to the will of God so that there can be peace in our hearts. Let us set our hearts on the truth of the Word of God, even if it means experiencing social intimidation. Let us pattern our lives after the will of God. Let us focus on that which is true, noble and right. Let us keep our minds on the pure, lovely and admirable ways of life which please God, so that all things can work together for our good. We live in a world where there is no peace except in Christ alone. Nations are lifting up arms against nations; there is so much tension in world affairs. Suicide rates are on the increase. Terrorism is spreading like fire. You never can tell what the next person standing next to you is capable of, yet in all these things assured us that;

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

Jesus is the author of peace. He is the Prince of peace, when He dwells in you, war and crises cease.

    MESSAGE.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is very important to every heaven-bound Christian for many reasons. The first thing that comes to mind is the personality of the Baptiser, that is, the Holy Spirit Himself. He is the third person in the Trinity. From the beginning, God has been in charge of everything that goes on in the universe including the redemption of man. The Holy Spirit, being the third person in the Trinity plays a major role, not only in the redemption process but also plays the role of preserving the believer after the salvation experience.

“And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” – Ephesians 4:30

There are lots of spiritual virtues the Holy Spirit imparts on believers when they receive His baptism. These virtues are very fundamental to the Christian experience. For example, in our text for today, we read of the flow of rivers of living water, symbolizing the Holy Spirit. Just as water is very important to the physical survival of man, so also is the Living water very important to the spiritual survival of man. A Christian gets spiritually dehydrated and consequently spiritually dead as a result of the lack of the Holy Spirit. This is the reason why one wonders when some schools of thought say that the Holy Spirit baptism is an outdated Christian experience. It is not. Another fundamental blessing which accrues from the baptism of the Holy Spirit is what we find in the instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ in today’s memory verse. Without the baptism of the Holy Spirit, there can be no power for Christians to evangelise or witness about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. It would have been a different ball-game if the disciples of old were not empowered and emboldened by the coming of the Holy Spirit when they were apprehended by the Jewish leader:

“31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. 32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. 33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.” – Acts 4:31-33

Beloved, do you think you are a weak Christian; afraid of coming out to exhibit your conviction that Jesus is Lord? Or, you are rising and falling because you cannot stand the wiles of the devil which are inevitable in this perverted generation? Are you being played with like a toy in the hands of demons? All you need is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. To be baptised, however, requires your determination to please the Lord and live above sin. Pray earnestly for it and you will be baptised for power, refreshing and for a victorious Christian living.

    Prayer Point.
Lord Jesus, please send your Holy Spirit to me afresh, and get me refreshed and empowered today.

  28. Be Thou Perfect.
    Text:
    Genesis 17:1-8
1And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

    Introduction:
It takes a loving father to give guideline to his children. God demand absolute obedience to His instructions from all his children. If anyone can obey God totally, he or she can surely attain level of perfection.

    How Can One Be Perfect?
    1. Through Genuine Repentance
    John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    2. By Living A Holy Life
    Matthew 5:48
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

    3. By Putting On The Whole Armour Of God
    Ephesians 6:10-18
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
    14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
    18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

    4. By Fleeing From Every Appearance Of Evil
    1 Thessalonians 5:22
Abstain from all appearance of evil.

    Conclusion:
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and Spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
    2 Corinthian 7:1
7 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Bible in One Year: 2 Samuel 18:1-19:15, Proverbs 13:1-14

    MESSAGE:

A betrayer is a covenant breaker and there is danger in being a covenant breaker (Romans 1:31). A betrayer is someone who knows the secret of the strong and / or the weak point of an individual through an intimate relationship and leaks example of a betrayer is Judas Iscariot. Reading the story of the betrayal of Jesus Christ will teach us many lessons. Firstly, the fact that someone is close to you does not mean he or she cannot betray you. As a matter of fact, it is the casual acquaintance be guilty of betrayal because there is hardly any secret to divulge. Secondly, a betrayal is a killer, betrayal is murderous.

“51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. 52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:” – Acts 7:51-52

The Bible describes a betrayer as someone who reveals secrets (Proverbs 11:13). Proverbs 26:22 says: “The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.” Betrayal is not a Christian virtue. Before the Almighty God, it attracts a “capital punishment” as it is written:

“6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!” – Matthew 18:6-7

Beloved of God, let us not be caught-up with the spirit of the end-time as predicted by apostle Paul in his writings about the characteristics of the perilous times, when there will be blasphemers, boasters, trucebreakers, false accusers, despisers of godliness, traitors, and lovers of pleasures than lovers of God. I pray that as many as have been caught in these deadly habits shall be delivered today in Jesus’ name.

  30. Lord. My Fortress. RCCG Open Heavens. Sermon And Prayer Points By Pastor E A Adeboye.

Memorise: And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; – 2 Samuel 22:2

    Read: Psalms 91:1-8 (KJV)

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

    5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Bible in One Year: 1 Kings 12-13, Proverbs 17:15-28

    MESSAGE:

The experience of the Psalmist concerning divine protection is worthy of study. According to our memory verse for today, he says: “The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer.” Whoever experiences these attributes of God in his life can be rightly described as the inheritance of the Lord. The psalmist further wrote:

“They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.” – Psalms 125:1

    One point to quickly note is that this Bible verse talks only to those who put their trust in the Lord, not those who have alternatives. David trusted totally in the Lord and he was never disappointed, that’s why he had made such statements as this;

“As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.” – Psalms 125:2

In other words, the Lord builds walls of protection round about his people. This is ‘food for thought’ for double-minded people who are still in doubt of God’s ability to totally protect. Some people are even afraid of prosperity, because they feel they would be prone to attacks from enemies if they get rich. They obviously do not know that the Almighty God that prospers is the One that protects as well.

“3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence….5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;” – Psalms 91:3, 5

One is thrilled by assurance with which the Psalmist is telling us about the Lord’s protection over His people. David’s experiences, first with the lion and the bear, and later with Goliath, are testimonies that should make a doubter believe that Our God is indeed Jehovah-Nissi.

I assure you that if you put your trust in the Lord, your protection is guaranteed. Our Lord never fails, He watches over his elect so that His name will not be blasphemed. Also, He fights on behalf of his elect so that they may not be discouraged by the battles of life.

My prayer is that the Rock of Ages will continue to protect you and your loved ones in the name of Jesus. However, ensure that you have no other god beside the Almighty God.

Prayer Point: Father, please deliver me from the nets of the fowler in Jesus’ name.

  31. Fasting, Sex And Love Making.
    I just got this text!
    Dear Emeka,
Please I want to ask you this, is it good to fast after having sex with your spouse?
    Thank You!

    My Reply!
Sex or love making is energy sapping; one needs to recover from such intimacy before embarking on such spiritual exercise as fasting.

You must have a mutual agreement with your husband or wife, concerning the fast.

Fasting is not only abstaining from food and drink for a while. It also includes abstaining from every pleasure like sex for the given period.

First discuss with your spouse, if you just had sex, start the next day.
Also read 1 Corinthians 7:1-5, most especially verse 5.

1 Corinthians 7:1-5 King James Version (KJV)

7 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.

5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
