The Song Of The Bow At TPH. This Present House This Sunday.

Pastor Chris Delvan will be at This Present House church this Sunday 3rd of April. Chris Delvan is a very lively, enthusiastic person, and such a great singer!. It’s going to be inspiring listening to him again at The Dome, this Sunday.

If you live in or have ever visited the suburbs of any city, you have probably seen a house being built. The construction process is very complicated and delicate, and the detail with which the contractor and workers must work is amazing! Imagine walking blindfolded through an unfamiliar dark room; you know that it is almost impossible to navigate from one side to the other without a single scratch, bump, or bruise. Life is a room that we are not able to easily navigate—we have not tried it, before, and the enemy tries to blind fold us and cause us to stumble.

Now imagine walking through the same room with light shining everywhere, eliminating all of the shadows and helping you avoid the chaos and the hurt that would have…

Throughout the ancient Mediterranean world, the shepherd was a common sight. The responsibility and attention that it took to tend and care for the sheep was vital. And the shepherd is often used throughout the old testament as a symbol of leadership and the responsibilities that come with it.

When Jesus came, He turned that familiar concept upside down.

Instead of speaking about the leadership and power that a shepherd must have over his flock, He chose to focus on how much the shepherd will sacrifice to protect and care for the sheep.

John_11-25: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”. —John 11: 25-26

When we grow up in the world, we are told that we have to do everything that we can before we die, because that is all that we will leave, and that there can be nothing after death.

When we walk with Jesus, even death is not the end! Nothing seems as final as death, and yet Jesus challenges that by declaring Himself the Resurrection and the Life. He stared death in the eye, and death blinked.
