1 Samuel 31. The death of Saul and his sons

1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel: and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa. 2 And the Philistines followed hard upon Saul and upon his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Melchishua, Saul’s sons. 3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him; and he was sore wounded of the archers. 4 Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. 5 And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was…

2 Samuel 1. David learns of Saul’s death

1 Now it came to pass after the death of Saul, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had abode two days in Ziklag; 2 It came even to pass on the third day, that, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul with his clothes rent, and earth upon his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance. 3 And David said unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped. 4 And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also…

2 Samuel 2. Israel and Judah at war. David is made the king of Judah

1 And it came to pass after this, that David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron. 2 So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal’s wife the Carmelite. 3 And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron. 4 And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul. 5 And David sent messengers unto the men of…

2 Samuel 3. Joab kills Abner

1 Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker. 2 And unto David were sons born in Hebron: and his firstborn was Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; 3 And his second, Chileab, of Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite; and the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; 4 And the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith; and the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital; 5 And the sixth, Ithream, by Eglah David’s wife. These were born to David in Hebron. 6 And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house…

1 Samuel 9. Saul chosen king

1 Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power. 2 And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a goodlier person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

3 And the asses of Kish Saul’s father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses. 4 And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land…

Is Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior bad for your business?

The whole city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they begged Him to depart from their region.

Matthew 8:34

You would think that after the miracle of casting out demons from two men who had violently oppressed them, the people in the area would have said, “Jesus, You are the man! We love what you did! Now we can go back to the cemetery and pay our respects to our loved ones and put flowers on their graves. We wouldn’t even go near there before. These guys were scary. Thank you, Lord, for coming to our community.” But that is not what happened. Instead, they wanted Him to go away. Why? It was because Jesus was bad for business.

Jesus had cast the demons out of the men and into a herd of swine…

1 Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabeshgilead: and all the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee. 2 And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel. 3 And the elders of Jabesh said unto him, Give us seven days’ respite, that we may send messengers unto all the coasts of Israel: and then, if there be no man to save us, we will come out to thee. 4 Then came the messengers to Gibeah of Saul, and told the tidings in the ears of the people: and all the people lifted up their voices, and wept.

1 Samuel 13. Isreal in distress. War against the Philistines

1 Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel, 2 Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent. 3 And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear. 4 And all Israel heard say that Saul had smitten a garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel also was had in abomination with the Philistines. And the people were called together after Saul to Gilgal. 5 And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel…

1 Now it came to pass upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over to the Philistines‘ garrison, that is on the other side. But he told not his father. 2 And Saul tarried in the uttermost part of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men; 3 And Ahiah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod’s brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the LORD’S priest in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone. 4 And between the passages, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines’ garrison, there was a sharp rock on the one side, and a sharp rock…

Do you believe in miracles?

Prayer's avatarPrayer Haven

Do you believe in miracles?

We serve a God of miracles. A miracle is the supernatural intervention of God in the problems of our lives. By believing in the power of God, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

At some point in our lives, we will either be forced to live in the potential of our faith in God, or with the consequences of our doubts.

“Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” Mark 9:23

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

For When You Feel Alone

For When You Feel Alone By Samantha Evilsizer

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.” John 15:9-10 (ESV)

Miss Emma‘s wrinkled hands cupped my chin—her palm a reservoir for my tears. I walked down the hallways saying tearless goodbyes to 119 other residents, and yet my farewell with her released a levy of emotions.

The scattered pieces of my heart felt like they were blown about by the scurrying of nurses’ footsteps and doctors’ orders resounding off the walls of the nursing home.

It felt wrong to leave her alone, forsaken in this dark place.

Her family, or lack thereof, had rendered her anchorless; adrift in the lonely sea of a 120 bed facility. A…

I know that my Redeemer lives

Prayer's avatarPrayer Haven

Česky: Kříže - symbol utrpení Ježíše Krista a ...

I know that my Redeemer liveth.

Job 19:25

The marrow of Job’s comfort lies in that little word “My”-“My Redeemer,” and in the fact that the Redeemer lives. Oh! To get hold of a living Christ. We must get a property in Him before we can enjoy Him. What is gold in the mine to me? Men are beggars in Peru, and beg their bread in California. It is gold in my purse which will satisfy my necessities, by purchasing the bread I need. So a Redeemer who does not redeem me, an avenger who will never stand up for my blood, of what avail were such? Rest not content until by faith you can say “Yes, I cast myself upon my living Lord; and He is mine.” It may be you hold Him with a feeble hand; you half think it presumption to say, “He…

Never give up

Prayer's avatarPrayer Haven

Česky: Kříže - symbol utrpení Ježíše Krista a ...

Never give up

In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good (Ecclesiastes 11:6).

There are people, who perhaps started out on a business venture that seemed profitable and were excited about it at the initial stage, however, two or three months down the line, challenges set in and it didn’t seem like the venture was making as much progress as they’d expected and as a result they gave up the business. They should have stayed with it!

Possibly, you’re in a similar situation today; you’re at the verge of giving up something you started. My counsel to you is, stay with it and believe in your progress! Keep at it, and don’t give up. The Bible says, “…whatsoever you do shall prosper” (Psalm

whenever troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy

Prayer's avatarPrayer Haven

May God help me! May God help me! (Photo credit: radiant guy)

Whenever troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy

(James 1:2)

Have you ever looked upon trouble as a time for joy? This is not foolishness but the deepest kind of wisdom. This joyful perspective is the very key to persevering and growing in wisdom during times of affliction.

It has been said that we as Christians are like tea bags: we are not much good until we have gone through a bit of hot water. When the temperature rises, we learn something about ourselves and about God. We find out that we need a little seasoning, and that He is steadfast and faithful in our trials. Can you trust God? I must tell you that you can, but your faith will never be real until you are forced, through circumstances, to place all your trust in…

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4

You are an overcomer

Not only has Jesus overcome the world, but so have you.  You are God’s workmanship,

and have His spirit living within you. The force, the strength, the might, and the

spirit that lives within you is greater than anything that the enemy will try to

use against you.

Stand straight! Stand tall! Confidently face each day knowing that you are participating

in a “fixed” fight.  The outcome has already been decided – you win! Face your enemy

like the champion you are. You know the end of the story, and you have overcome! Hallelujah! Amen!

God doesn’t want any to perish, but all to come to repentance

Prayer's avatarPrayer Haven

God doesn’t want any to perish, but all to come to repentance

This Is War!

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

Psalm 24:8

There is a wicked war raging between heaven and hell. The battleground is the mind of man. The spoil of war is your soul. No one is exempt from this conflict. Perhaps this simple acrostic teaching on the word “war” will help you in the fight.

Warning signs—God doesn’t want any to perish, but all to come to repentance. He was grieved that He had ever made man on the face of the earth, yet He warned Noah, though no one else believed. God sent angels to bring Lot and his family from Sodom just before its violent destruction. Likewise, the Lord sends His messengers to warn you.

Attack—From the time we are born there are…
