The Power of Faith in Pleasing God

Faith Pleases God

 

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1

 

From the very first line of the Bible, God requires us to have faith. He doesn’t go into elaborate detail about who He is or how He created everything. God doesn’t lay out His case as a logical legal brief. He just states plainly, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

 

Once you read these words you are compelled to either walk in faith and believe the Word of God or choose to dismiss it.

 

It’s clear that it takes faith to believe the Bible, because there are many unanswered questions. God wastes no time trying to talk us into believing His Word. The ability to believe God’s Word is a gift of faith from Him (Ephesians 2:8).

 

If you find yourself questioning the reality of God’s Word, then you need faith. How can you get faith? “Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).

 

Read the Word of God, listen to the Word of God, repeat aloud the Word of God, meditate on the Word of God and sing God’s Word. This will allow faith to come-for without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

God cannot disappoint you, His faithfulness is forever sure. Hope and Faithfulness

Hope links with the future. Moreover, there is a link between hope and God because He is the One who controls tomorrow. Anyone in charge of tomorrow is definitely able to uphold hope.

Revelation 1:8 says, “I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, The Almighty”.

Hope is linked with tomorrow and God is the One who holds tomorrow. Do not let any man deceive you: no man holds tomorrow except God. This is why James warns against boasting about tomorrow while acknowledging that we need God – the one in control of tomorrow – to enter into tomorrow of our dreams (James 4:13-16). Many who bragged about tomorrow never lived to see it.

Another way God is linked with hope is through His faithfulness. Deuteronomy 7:9 says, “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that loves Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations.”

God is extremely faithful. The quality of His faithfulness in keeping promises and agreements is unparalleled. There are some people around us who make simple promises that they can easily fulfil yet, they fail to fulfil them because they lack the discipline in faithfulness.

Putting all your hope in an unfaithful man can lead to great embarrassment and loss when the fellow suddenly disappoints you at a crucial time.

God cannot disappoint you! Numbers 23:19 says, “God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?”

God doesn’t only keep covenants but He is the greatest covenant keeper as He can fulfil His promise to an individual or a family for up to a thousand generations!

What a wonderful God we serve!

Your Faith Will Be Tried And Tested. Ace The Test. Ace This Faith Test By Letting Jesus Christ And His Kingdom Be All That Matters To You In This Life

Revelation 3:10 NASB “Because you have kept My word of perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of the testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who live on the earth.”

In Judges 7, when God wanted Gideon to go fight the Midianites, He assured him through the angel that he (Gideon) would defeat his enemies. Gideon thought he’d need an army; so, he gathered his soldiers. But God said to him, “If you go with so many soldiers, you might think that you won the battle by yourselves. Tell everyone who’s afraid to go home”; and the Bible says twenty-two thousand of them went home (Judges 7:3) Then God said, “I want to test the remaining ten thousand soldiers. Bring them to the stream and tell them to drink water. You’ll retain only those who watch out for the enemy while they drink.”

The Bible says only three hundred of them passed that test (Read Judges 7:4-6) They didn’t even know they were being tested. This is going to be happening in these last days. A great test is coming, and it’s already begun because God must separate those that are real from those that aren’t real; those who were never true with God. If this weren’t serious, Jesus wouldn’t require to intervene on behalf of the church in Philadelphia, as read in Revelation 3:10 above.

If your faith in Christ is genuine, it’s going to be tested: “These trials are only to test your faith, to see whether or not it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests gold and purifies it—and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold; so if your faith remains strong after being tried in the test tube of fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day of his return” (1 Peter 1:7 TLB). Ace this faith test by letting Jesus Christ and His Kingdom be all that matters to you in this life.

My Life Is A Testimony Of God’s Grace And A Harvest Of Blessings Because I Walk By Faith In His Word. Faith, Our Tool To Overcome. Have Faith That Prevails.

Hebrews 11: 32-33 NIV “… And what would I say again?  For I would not have enough time to speak of Gideon, Barak, Samson, and Jephthah, as well as of David, Samuel, and the prophets: who by faith conquered kingdoms, exercised righteousness, obtained promises, closed the kingdom, mouth of the lions.”

The Bible is full of amazing stories of people who by faith dominated their world.  The eleventh chapter of the book of Hebrews records the extraordinary accomplishments of these great people of faith.  He tells us how they subdued kingdoms, functioned in righteousness, and stood their ground in the face of astounding opposition.  Today, when we read the accounts of their faith and deeds, we are inspired and uplifted.  Let’s reflect a little on the life story of one of these great heroes of the faith: JOSHUA.

By faith Joshua made the children of Israel walk around the fortified walls of Jericho once a day for six days.  On the seventh day, after circling the city seven times, they uttered a loud cry of victory as the Lord had commanded, and the threatening walls of Jericho fell flat before them (Joshua 6: 16-20). By faith, you can do the same with every obstacle, restriction, resistance or unpleasant circumstance you might encounter, and watch them crumble, right in front of you!

“Pastor, is it that easy?”  you ask .  Of course it is!  The same book of Hebrews exhorts us to be imitators of those who by faith and patience have inherited what had been promised by God.  Therefore, imitate the faith of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joshua, David, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Apostles.  As you speak words full of faith, you will have the same incredible stories of victory and triumph as you change every dire situation around you and make great things happen.

Hebrews 6:18 (KJV)

The devil loves to magnify the issues confronting you and make you think that there is no way out, so that you can give up and throw in the towel. I come to remind you of the fact that God cannot lie. God is the creator of time and He is not bound by time. He can suspend time for your sake if the need arises. He did it for Joshua when he was faced with a battle and the sun and moon stood still until the war was over (Joshua 10). He is the same God. What He has done for one is an indication of what He can do for you.

Let me ask you this: what are the promises that God has made to you? Can you list them all on a paper? If yes, attempt to do just that. Secondly, how many have come to pass? Can you tick them off? Then look at what is left and tell yourself: the same God that did the others that you have ticked will do them. Next thing I want you to do is to put a scripture beside each promise. Then personalize the scripture for yourself. So what you have is a confession. Take for instance one of the issues is healing in your body. Put 1 Peter 2:24 in front of it then write it down personalizing it this way: “Who His own self bore my sins in His own body on the tree, that I, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by His stripes I was healed”. Did you see that? When you do that to all the issues listed, what you have is a table of confession, personalized just for you.

After every prayer time, declare those words over your life and you will see them come to pass. God cannot lie. His word is yea and amen. He is not a man to lie neither is He the son of man to repent. Hold on to His word, it will surely come to pass.

1. Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
2. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
4. And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
5. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
6. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
8. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

Message

If children of God would take time to study the Word of God and pay great attention to His person, ways, attributes and commandments, the world would be a much better place. Prayers will be answered quickly and Christians will revel in the glory and favour of God. We will partially know the reason(s) behind God’s actions and what to do at any time to move His hands in our favour.
By the grace of God, anyone that is conversant with the history and development of the Redeemed Christian Church of God will agree, without any doubt that God has constantly revealed His mind to us in the place of prayer. May His name be praised forevermore in Jesus’ name. Amen!
A careful study of the story of Hezekiah in Isaiah 36-38 reveals two important factors that lead to God’s deliverance through prayer. The first is recorded in Isaiah 37:20, where Hezekiah asks God to deliver Israel for His own sake and not theirs: “Save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone are the Lord” Isaiah 37:20.
God responded by saving them for His glory. There is no greater and stronger foundation for our salvation than this. It is by His grace and it is accessible to all human beings without any qualification. It is open to the poor as well as the rich; it is open to men and women of all ages, race and background. Not because we deserve it, but to show that God is a merciful God who delights in showering blessings on His children.
The second factor is found in the same story. Hezekiah first prayed for Jerusalem’s existence that was being threatened and God graciously answered and saved Jerusalem, again he prayed for mercy and elongation of his own life and God answered too.
In both cases, God’s deliverance came in direct response to a humble and desperate prayer. God will always respond to the desperate requests of His children because Jesus is our sinless high priest who makes it possible for us to approach the throne of grace with confidence.
The New Testament reveals a similar pattern in the book of Acts 12:1-8;
“Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.” Acts 12:5
The Lord answered the prayer of the Church with the miraculous deliverance of Peter. Here again, God answers the desperate prayer of His people for the glory of His Name. I therefore decree, as you make your request known to God this day, He will answer you by fire with signs following in Jesus’ Name.

I don’t have to tell you that we live in a changing society and culture. No thoughtful person can look at our world and the advances of technology without feeling a bit apprehensive. Humankind now has the capability of destroying the world as we know it.

Yes, we have more power than ever before in our history. And not only that, but we live in a revolution of rising expectations with the influence of media on society. This generation is one which demands everything now. As a result, people have become frustrated, impatient, and most of all, confused.

But the one thing that can hold our world together is an anchor. You see, when a ship needs to stop, it can’t just put on the brakes. No, it has to anchor itself to something solid. It has to touch something tangible, something not susceptible to tossing and turning like the waves of the ocean. Because no matter how big the ship is, the waves will always win.

Do you want stability in an ever-changing and chaotic world? Let Jesus be your anchor. Find your rest and your peace in Him alone. That doesn’t mean you can’t change, but it means that when you do change, you’ll do so with a firm foundation of the Solid Rock… the Lord Jesus Christ!

In A Changing World, Look To Christ As Your Anchor And Find Your Rest And Peace In Him.

  2. I see more Disasters taking place this year. But God will preserve His children.
  3. America and Europe must pray fervently in this year.
    I see the rise of religious fundamentalism in Europe, and serious crisis with the US elections. If care is not taken, there may not be an election in America. I see Obama suddenly changing his mind to run for 3rd term, sparking off serious crisis. They must pray to avert all these.
  4. Nigeria must pray for a former military head of state. Seems like the end of the road.
  5. I see a calendar representing the entertainment industry- some prominent people have been marked with the circles on the calendar for death. We seriously need to pray for the entertainment industry.
  6. I see Nigerian Football returning to Glory days.
  7. I see Explosions in places that no one is expecting to see them, in Nigeria. We need to pray for the Southern part of Nigeria.
  8. I see a former minister passing on this year and also a present minister going home.
  9. We need to pray for Rivers and Akwa-Ibom States- that God should avert any crisis arising from election Re-runs that may eventually happen in those states. I see terrible bloodshed. But if we pray, the opposite will be the case.
  10. Anyone who wants to retain political power this year must seek the face of God.
  11. We need to pray for Kogi State. I see someone sworn in and later eliminated prematurely. Serious intervention needed.
  12. Lots of families will experience generational blessings for the first time this year.
  13. I see a country in Europe having to deal with a major crisis resulting from a fatal train crash with heavy casualties.
  14. Lots and lots of barren women will rejoice this year; because God has released unto them fruitfulness beyond measure.
  15. Our men in uniform, especially the Police Force and the Nigerian Military must embark on serious prayers… there will be some serious shaking this year, in those two divisions.
  16. Terror attack will increase in Nigeria but solution will arise between the 7th and 8th month of this year- 2016.

Grace And Faith

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Isn’t it funny how there are basically two kinds of religions in the world? There are those religions of works, which are false religions. And then there is religion by faith, which is true religion. Those are the only two categories: works-based religion and faith-based religion.

Now, a religion of works says do. It tells you that if you accomplish XYZ in your life, you’ve done well. If you haven’t, then you’ve done badly. That’s how works-based religion determines the success of the follower.

But the faith-based religion, the religion of Christ (which is not a religion but a relationship) has already been done. It takes into account the fact that God is so holy and man is so sinful that there’s no amount of good works we can do to even come close to success. That’s why Jesus came… to live the life we couldn’t and give us His righteousness as He took away our sin.

When Jesus cried out, “It is finished,” He said, “Done!” The work of salvation has been accomplished. And because of His faithful obedience which took Him to the cross, you can now have life in His name by placing your faith in Him!

Christ Did The Work You Couldn’t Do So That You Can Have Eternal Life. So Thank Him Today For That Wonderful Gift!

The year 2016 is coming and with it many prophecies from respected men of God.
The founder of INRI Evangel­ical Spiritual Church, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has unveiled his prophecies for coming year in an interview with the Sun News.

Nigeria is currently facing many challenges. The deadly Boko Haram insurgency that Buhari’s government is said to have crushed, the upsurge in pro-Biafra agitation, corruption and many other political battles.

Read below the top 14 prophecies from the prominent cleric:

  1. Nigerians should not expect President Muhammadu Buhari to achieve much in the anti-corruption war as the whole effort will backfire as several notable people who are close to him will be indicted and thereby tie his hands such that he will not make progress.
  2. Buhari’s administration will have more problems by removing the oil subsidy. If care is not taken, we are going to buy fuel at N200 per litre. The removal of oil subsidy will spur militant youths to damage pipelines to steal products for sale.
  3. Nigeria army will not be able to defeat Boko Haram if the air force is not fully involved. They can only defeat the insurgents with combined air and ground assaults and using satellites to target their leaders.

  4. People in the south west and south south must be careful because the Boko Haram will infiltrate these areas. The insurgents will still carry out more suicide bomb attacks in Plateau and Abuja.

  5. If the All Progressives Congress is not careful, the party will crack. Also if the PDP does not go back to beg the founding fathers, the party may not recover, because some PDP governors will flee to the APC.

  6. A northern party will emerge. CPC is not yet over. A group from the north will recreate the CPC with a northern person in charge. APC as it is now will have problems if they are not careful. APC and PDP need a lot of prayers.

  7. More political parties will be registered. Not all House of Assembly speakers will finish their terms. It is only prayers that will make the Taraba woman to go back to that seat.

  8. Seriake Dickson has to pray very well to retain his seat.

  9. The Halliburton case will come up again.

  10. In probing Jonathan, Buhari will end up shooting himself in the leg. What I mean by that is that as he tries to trouble Jonathan, it will cause problems. He will only be able to hit corruption, but will not make much impact. In the process of the corruption battle, some people who are close to Buhari will be indicted. That is why I said that Buhari will shoot himself in the leg.

  11. Buhari will make efforts to make Nigeria better, but his efforts will be frustrated by a cabal in his government. He will step on many toes, but that would frustrate his administration the more.

  12. Buhari must not overlook Biafra. He should dialogue with them. He must not hold dialogue with Boko Haram. If he does it, he will destroy his administration. Nigeria will face a lot of agitations by different groups. His government should not see these predictions as doom messages, but as a warning and follow the advice appropriately.

  13. NFF will have crisis. If our club sides play very well they might win a cup. They have to be motivated or they might not perform well. Government efforts to alleviate poverty will not be easy, fruitful. I see a lot of crises: Kanuri-Fulani crisis, Hausa-Fulani crisis. We should pray against massive fish poisoning in the river.

  14. Atiku should seek the face of God very well because some people want to create trouble around him and destabilize his political machinery.
