Jesus Can Break Any Addiction That You Have

I met with a young couple awhile back who shared a beautiful story of how Jesus had broken the power of addiction in their lives. This young man had recently come to Christ and was an alcoholic. He shared, “The moment I came to Jesus Christ, He took away my desire to drink instantly!”

When Jesus was living on earth, He delivered people from demonic spirits and powers. And I want you to know I believe people are still possessed and enslaved by Satan today. But Jesus can set you free. You may have an addiction, but Jesus can perform the miracle of breaking the chains of sin and the power that binds your life.

Now, God may not work that dramatically in every situation. It may take some time for a person to grow. But let me tell you this: Jesus Christ can absolutely break any addiction that you have. He can perform a miracle in your life and set you free if you will believe and trust in Him. He does this because He loves you.

So whatever addiction or sinful pattern of behavior you are experiencing in your life today, trust in Jesus to set your free, believing that by His healing power, you can be restored to wholeness!

There’s a popular singing competition television show today called The X Factor. The show gets its title from a term that’s used to denote a certain quality or qualities that cause a person to rise above the ordinary and become a star.

Years ago, I picked up a book at the bookstore entitled The X Factor: A Quest for Excellence written by George Plimpton. In it, the author surveyed athletes looking for that extra something in their lives that propels them to victory. He also looked at those who are successful in the business world, in politics, and in the arts to see just what it was that took them from ordinary to extraordinary.

As a Christian, you have the X factor! Do you know what that something extra is? It is the divine dynamic of knowing God! That is CHRIST IN YOU! It’s that something extra that you have in Him when you pray and seek His face. It’s the power of His Holy Spirit living inside of you.

Very often, I see Christians who settle for such an ordinary life. They think, “I’m not talented or brilliant, so I guess I’ll just let life happen to me.” Well, if you’re in Christ, you have what it takes to live powerfully through the Spirit. So take the leap and start living boldly for Jesus today!

In Christ, You Have What It Takes To Rise Above The Ordinary. So Surrender Today And Start Living Boldly For The Kingdom Of God!

True Joy

You don’t have to look far today to see that too many people lack joy in their lives. They’re like that little boy whose mother took him to Disneyland. He was right in the middle of Disneyland, “The Happiest Place on Earth,” just crying his eyes out. So his mother looked at him and said, “You’re going to have fun whether you like it or not!”

So often today, people mistake happiness for joy. They think, “This made me happy, so it must be where I’m going to get the most out of life.” But the problem is that there are so many things today that can make you happy, but will never give you joy. They gratify, but they’ll never truly satisfy.

Real joy comes about not because of our circumstances, but from our heart’s focus. Joy is a condition that surpasses our momentary afflictions and concentrates on the promises that we have in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can bring you true joy.

Stop looking for real and lasting joy in fleeting pleasures. Find your joy solely in Jesus Christ, trusting in His promises of deliverance and salvation from negative circumstances and entrusting yourself wholly to Him!

Instead Of Finding Joy In Fleeting Pleasures, Look To Christ To Give You Real And Lasting Peace No Matter Your Circumstances!

I know that there is a quest and desire like never before today for success and relevance. We all want result in all areas of our lives. It is not just you that is reading this, but that is generally the position with the body of Christ at large. No one wants to be seen as a failure and it is easy to fall for the trap of seeking success at all cost. More especially when you begin to consider the challenges we are facing.

The activity of the enemy is increasing no doubt. We have greater challenges to contend with like never before. The opportunity to compromise the standard of the word confronts the believer every day. The words of Paul to Timothy are coming to pass before our very eyes when he said, “In the last days, perilous times shall come” (2 Timothy 3:1)

There is the desire to breakthrough these walls of resistance the enemy has created and it is the desire of God that we get result in all our endeavours because we represent God. He wants us to succeed in every area of our lives – in marriages, academics, jobs, business, finance etc.

However the question God is asking is, “Are you looking for success anyhow?” Are you in the league of those who say if you can’t beat them join them or are you part of those who claim the end justifies the means? Are you interested in just getting result or do you care about having His presence? What do you want for yourself? There are many today who have lost the presence of God. What do you want out of life? Is it the gold or the glory? Is it the crowd or the crown? Do you want the gift or the giver of the gift? Thank God for success and achievements, but when it is at the expense of His presence it is not good success. The Bible rightly admonishes us to seek good success. I challenge you today to make it His presence or nothing.

He That Sits In The Heavens Shall Laugh. Nothing Can Stop The Promises Of God From Manifesting In Your Life

We are witnessing in our days, an unprecedented increase in the activities of the devil and his cohorts. We are seeing violence on the increase, crime, rebellion, anarchy, disobedience and disloyalty are more or less daring our God, staring us in the face and asking where our God is. There is an orchestrated attempt from the very pit of hell to ensure that God’s people with the very life of God are put down, humiliated, frustrated and discouraged.

It is from the pit of hell and as we begin to climax the age it will increase, but there is good news for God’s people; The God that we serve is not in trouble! Fear not! Your God is the Almighty. He is in perfect control.

He is high and lifted up, higher than your challenges and everything the devil can ever throw at you. He is Jehovah Elohim. He is God the Creator. He is Jehovah Sabaoth. He is the Beginning. He is the End. He is the First and the Last. When He shuts, no one opens.

When He opens, no one shuts. He is God, beside Him there is none else. He created time and stepped out of time to control it. His decrees are in eternity and they manifest in time for the good of man. He is God and He upholds all things by the word of His power.

Do not be troubled at what you see or what you hear. Your God is not in trouble. The scripture declares that “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh” Your God is laughing at the intrigues and devices of the wicked. Therefore, fear not! Rest in Him. He is not a man that He should lie neither the son of man that He should repent. If He has said it, He will do it, if He has spoken it, He will bring it to pass. Nothing can stop the promises of God from manifesting in your life.

I Shall Not Want

David knew from a young age that he has been despised and rejected but at the backside of the desert, he began to pursue God.

He committed himself to loving, serving and obeying God. That was why he said in Psalm 23 that “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” He knew that as long as the shepherd is with the sheep, there can be no need unmet. In verse two he said “He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.” He was saying “I don’t make myself, God makes me and as long as it is God making you, you are made. He also said “He leadeth me beside the still waters” again, as long as God leads you, you remain safe and you can’t miss the way.

Did you notice that when he stopped heeding to God’s leading and started working by his own dictates in verse 4; he began to walk in the valley of shadow of death! Beloved you expose yourself to danger the moment you dump God and you start doing things your own way. Except the Lord builds a house, those who build do it in vain. Your talent, smartness, skills etc are wonderful but when the chips are down, it is what you do with His presence that will sustain you. If there is anything to pursue today, it’s the presence of the shepherd and His ways.

Smith Wigglesworth at the age of fifty told himself if he will ever learn how to read, it will be because of the Bible and nothing else. It produced the presence of God in his life to the extent that we still quote him till today. Today I see a lot of people with heart ache, I see many who are frustrated in life because they do not care about the presence of the shepherd. Like David, make the Lord your shepherd today, listen and yield to Him in all things and you will experience the richness you have always desired for your life.

God’s Love For Me Is Eternal

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten son into the world, that we might live through Him, herein, is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent His son to be propitiation for our sins”. 1 John 4:9-10

On this beautiful day, I come your way with a word of assurance from God that His love for you knows no bound. I can hear you say, but, “If He truly loves me, then how come I am still going though this situation; how come I am having all these challenges? Beloved, the truth is that if you truly understand the love of God, you can take to bed knowing that He will take charge of your situation. He loves you in spite of your challenges. Challenges are temporal, but His love for you is eternal. He first loved you even when you were unlovable. Beloved, not only does God have a great capacity for love; He is love personified. Lamentation 3:22-23 (NASV) says that “The Lord’s loving-kindness indeed never cease for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness”

Today, it is no longer news, that we live in a world that is characterized by sin, pain, hardship, hatred, scheming, intrigues and all manner of evils, but the good news is that God has not given up on His own people. As a believer you must realize that God has not given up on you no matter what. Beloved, if you were saved, then that makes you a recipient of God’s love. That makes you special and different. I come to encourage you today to receive and acknowledge the love of God in your heart. Yes, I know you may have messed up somewhere along the line in time past, but love of God has wiped it all away. God is about to turn that mess around and make it a message.

Child of God, rejoice for you are greatly blessed, highly favoured and deeply loved. God is set to do new things in your life and there is nothing the devil can do about it because His loving-kindness towards you never ceases. God’s love for you is new every morning. It is never stale! Now how does that grab you? In other words, as you wake up every morning you receive a fresh dose of God’s love. As you go about your business today, may you experience his love in an unlimited measure in Jesus name. Amen

What Is Hindering You From Being Filled With The Holy Spirit?

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit

God has clearly commanded you and me to “be filled with the Spirit.” But an unconfessed sin or resistance to His authority will block the “flow” of His life within us. If we do not deal with it, our spiritual lives become stagnant and we lose our attractiveness and usefulness to God. And we have nothing refreshing about us that would draw other people to Christ.

What is hindering you from being filled with the Holy Spirit? To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to be under His moment-by-moment control. He has not been given to you so that you can keep Him confined to a particular area in your life. Let Him loose! He is Lord! The amount of power you experience to live a victorious, triumphant Christian life is directly proportional to the freedom you give the Spirit to be Lord of your life!

Hebrews 10:22
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

I would like you to imagine this scenario: You borrow a huge sum of money from a friend and promise to pay him back in six months’ time. When the time comes, you feel really bad because you cannot repay him as you don’t have the money. A year rolls by without you repaying a cent. Now, you feel extremely guilty. You try to avoid your friend because you are too embarrassed and ashamed to see him.

Let’s say that your best friend hears about your plight. Out of the goodness of his heart, he goes to your creditor and says, “Look, I understand that my best friend owes you money.”

“Yes, he owes me N50,000.”

“Here is N100,000. I am paying you on his behalf.”

Your creditor says, “No, no, no! He owes me only N50,000.”

Your best friend says, “I know. But take the N100,000 so that you can never say that he still owes you money.”

Now, your debt has been paid, in fact, more than paid. But if you don’t know or believe this, that debt will still be on your conscience. You will still be afraid to see your creditor. And you will avoid him because he reminds you of your debt.

My friend, you need to know that Jesus was an overpayment when He offered Himself as your sin offering, because of the quality and worth of the Man Himself. My friend, He overpaid for your sins when He became your sacrifice on the cross.

But if you don’t know or believe this, you will suffer as your unbelief will rob you of assurance, joy and peace. You will still have debt on your conscience. Even though God is not imputing sin to you (Romans 4:8), sin is still on your conscience. And as long as sin is on your conscience, you won’t dare to draw near to Him.

Beloved, the truth is that your sins have been more than paid for. Jesus was an overpayment. So draw near to God today with no sin on your conscience!

It Never Occurred To Satan

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

Ephesians 2:13, NIV

God is righteous and just. But God is also loving and merciful. He cannot be less than Himself. Satan, in his temptation of Adam and Eve and in his plan to defeat the purpose of God, failed to take into account the very character of God. He failed to realize one very important thing – how much God loved the man and woman He had created and the depths to which His grace would go in order to bring them back to Himself. It never entered Satan’s wicked, self-centered imagination that God would commit the fullness of His eternal, divine nature to bring man back into a right relationship with Himself. It never occurred to Satan, who ever seeks his own pre-eminence that the Creator of the universe would lay down His own life in atonement for man’s sin. But that’s exactly what happened. The solution to the problem of sinfulness is the cross of Jesus Christ.
