I was sitting here encouraging myself this morning about the promises God gave me. I’ve been trying too many things yet trying to find the right choice.

The Lord reminded me of His promises. His ways are not our ways, and neither are HIs thoughts our thoughts.

He also reminded me that His plans are better than what I can imagine and that I must not grow weary in well doing.

So, this morning I encouraged myself to be content with what the Lord has blessed me with and to focus on perfecting that which He gave me.

I must lay aside every distraction and all those things which cause me to stray from the truth of the Word of God and His promises to me.

I must be content with what I have and not allow the enemy to distract me and throw me off course. I realize that…

We are qualified to come to Jesus just as we are. The great I am wants us heavy burdened and all. Our trust of Him increases the more we get to know His character.

In our moments of suffering, we are given the opportunity to get to know more about who Jesus is. He wants to let his presence be known to us. Not only through his Spirit, but through the spirit of others. God designed your good days just as he allowed the arrows to move through and hit you on the bad days.

Let others love you with their actions and remember the truth of who God is.

I catch myself wondering how some people can be so evil, watching news and seeing some of the monstrosities that people are capable of doing, thinking to myself I’m glad I’m not like that. Have you ever done that?

It has been often said that the mind is the devil’s playground. There is a lot of truth in that statement as so many of the spiritual battles we fight against our enemy take place in the mind. Maybe it’s the guilt of a past sin that our spiritual enemy continues to place into your mind or the cravings of an addiction that you have not fully overcome. Perhaps, he whispers negative words that give you doubts about your faith or your ability to accomplish what God has intended for you to do. Do as Romans 12:2 says today and allow God to transform you through the renewing of your mind. Pray and ask God today to remove the negative thoughts our spiritual enemy continues to infiltrate your mind with and allow God to renew your mind and replace the negativity with clarity and purity. I took a few days off. I’d not felt as continuing with the Sunday Series and now I’m off to training in some computer system I could hardly care about. Maybe I’d continue working on Sunday Series sometime next week.

A tiny, unidentifiable bug was making its way on my laptop surface. Before I had to think much about it, my pointer finger crushed it, clearing the invader off! I would not hurry to tell my Buddhist friend about it, who delights in all insects, as well wild rodents, she reassured me. But, in contrast to that bug, I was empowered. It felt quite pleasant. I was in charge. Sometimes in life, we desire to have control, if not over politicians or celebrities, but at least, the bugs, for mercy sake. That invaluable, ignorant creature could not possibly accomplish anything whatever for me. It was quite worthless. What is a conclusion!

Several days later, as I went with my reflection on the matter, realizing how unimportant we, as humans are, compared to God. (For those who do not acknowledge there is God, there is yet a chance you don’t know…

I am Daryls wife, Joyce. I know that Daryl has posted here for a long time and that many of you have encouraged him. Yesterday he heard his name called in Heaven and left our earthly home for his Heavenly home. He was the love of my life and we were married for 48 wonderful years. He was truly a man after Gods own heart. We, his family, will miss him more than words can express. Please hold us up in your prayers as we walk this long, difficult road. May God hold each of you in the palm of His hand till we meet at Jesus’ feet.

However, YOU are very valuable. You have something no other person has and if you don’t RISE and SHINE that light within, there would be a disconnect in the process of God’s design.
