ENCOURAGEMENT FOR THE DAY
Have you Become an Obstacle?
Romans 14:13
Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother’s way.
Throughout his writing, Paul has regularly instructed against doing certain things. He has also given clear directions about what to do instead. For example:
Ephesians 4:25: “Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.”
Ephesians 4:28: “He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.”
Philippians 4:6: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
2 Timothy 2:22: “Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and…

Rain storms
Water droplets are the reminder of what once was.
Sometimes we go through rain storms and those rain storms cause lots of water droplets.
Do these rain drops cause irritation to leaves? Yes, if the water is left on the leaves it will eventually turn brown and subsequently die.
What about the water droplets in our lives? You know what I’m talking about.. Past hurts, pain caused by a loved one, or trama. I’m speaking to myself here.
We need something in our lives to help dry up those droplets so we don’t die. (Physically, mentally, and emotionally)
Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known ? hast thou not heard , that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary ? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no…

Learning from Our Past – Lessons from “Young Tom Edison”
A philosopher, essayist, poet and novelist named George Santayana wrote (in The Life of Reason, 1905) was: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
We may find ourselves in great trouble if we forget THAT quote.
I have been thoroughly enjoying a classic film “Young Tom Edison” starring the late Mickey Rooney.
It is a great gift to our current society to learn from the lessons that our past society struggled with during the time in which Thomas Edison, the great American inventor, grew up. If it had not been for his mother, a former Canadian schoolteacher, who saw her son’s intellectual potential, we might be without the advantages from so many technological advancements he helped to develop. True, there are more controversial arguments about what Edison actually accomplished but my point today surrounds the way a uniquely bright child was really misunderstood in his time. We…

Devotion: “Father, into Your Hands,” Luke 23:46
Daily Prayer, Early Evening LSB 297
Devotion on Psalm 100, Luke 23:46, 3rd Petition
The words of our Lord from the cross we know. We also know what happens after. Jesus died.
In the conclusion of both Luther’s morning and evening prayer, these words are prayed, “Into your hands I commend my myself, my body, and soul, and all things.”
On the surface, these words say what they mean. In the midst of experience, they are exhaustive and include everything. Everything.
To say such a prayer, only the Christian can pray. This prayer reflects only what a Christian can pray. When all else seems lost, the Christian continues to have hope, and to be hopeful.
Such hope and such hopefulness does not rest in our decisions, but in the Lord who establishes in the faith, and feeds that faith with and by none other than Christ and His precious…

PALACE OF HOPE
May the dance of my dreams be forever mine.
In my palace of hope,
May this bond be forever strong; this song forever sung,
In the fat realities of reality.
Conjured powers of our shared universe, shall this union bless
With canopies of love
and banners of sweetness from high above.
May this bond be nourished with meats of many heavenly tomorrows
Cursed be the glasses of adversity; the winds of negativity.
Let the wine of hope thoroughly satisfy our nerve and ease our sorrows.
When this pink dreams end and the pink roads bend,
Pink love will be my recurring theme, my sacred hymn of hymns.
Music of dancing waves, serenading ears and healing souls;
The song when I sing, the laughter when I laugh, the love of my life.
Pink be the fire that burns, buffering words that melt,

Faith, science and fireman anecdotes
Most of us have heard the story. Most of us have been annoyed with how simple it seems. Many of us are just fed up with anecdotes that friends and family use as tools during the discomfort.
Maybe God put a fireman at our window. Why turn it down? Do we have more faith by staying in a fire or climbing down the ladder?
That fireman just so happens to have a bag full of shots, pills, appointments, and ultrasounds. Is my desire to use a doctor out of less belief or out of gratefulness at what he has provided? So how does that fit with my belief that God will provide?
I think it fits well. God is big and has the capacity to move mountains. He is the immeasurably more. But the real question depends on what my faith is in. Is my faith rooted in what…

OUR MONDAY MORNING MESSENGER; OUR GUEST WRITER FOR THIS WEEK
Help My Unbelief!
By Wayne Jackson
It is an episode fraught with mystery; one about which we wish we knew more. A man brought his son, who was possessed of a demon, to the Lord’s disciples. He wanted the Master’s men to cast out the evil spirit, but they could not. Jesus pinpointed the problem; the disciples’ faith was lacking (Mark 9:17-19; cf. Matthew 17:20). Accordingly, the lad was brought directly to the Savior himself. As they came near, the malignant force threw the child into a convulsion, and the boy fell to the ground, foaming at the mouth. The father subsequently informed Christ that this had been going on for a long time, and the lad had suffered much damage. The gentleman then said to Jesus: “If you can do anything, help us.” Note carefully that “if” (Mark 9:22)…View original post 657 more words
Grateful for the Yes & the No
I am grateful for God’s “yes” and His “no’s”. Take a look back at some of the things God told you yes about and some of the things you got a resounding no about.
Carefully look at them.
Objectively look at them.
Can you see how they would not have fit in the life you have now?
Can you see His grace for your life?
I can…I REALLY can!

Where did Jesus go when He died?
Where did Jesus go when He died? I decided to gather some scripture to answer this question. (I’m sure I’ll find more soon) Read and look over the verses. Scripture in no way contradicts itself. The Word of God is all truth, living and powerful. Below the verses, I have put together what I imagine happened on the day our Great God and Savior died for us.
So he went and preached to the spirits in prison— those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood. And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God froma clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 3:19-21
Now Christ has gone…

Happy Mother’s Day!!
Happy Mother’s Day!!
Summary:
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,
but rather expose them.
{Ephesian 5:11}
Jesus Christ is the answer to all of our problems. Are you saved? Do youknow Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears muchfruit;
for without Me you can do nothing.
{John 15:5}
Pray to the One who saves man’s soul from eternal darkness separated from the giver of Life, Jesus Christ. Ask Him into your heart, repent from your wrong doings (sin) and accept Him into your daily lives. He is faithful; He is forgiving; He will save you.

Outrageous work conditions in Athens, Greece.
Yes, I am a disgruntled employee. Read my story and then judge me, if you consider it necessary.
My odyssey began on the 13th of August 2011 (the night before my 43rd birthday). From what I can recall, it was about 2:30 a.m. when three hoodlums appeared out of nowhere and began, for no reason, to beat up a group of prostitutes close to the entrance of the hotel where I work. This is nothing new as the entire city block surrounding the ‘Athens Center Square Hotel’ during the evening hours is overshadowed by (under aged) prostitutes, homeless people, drug users, traffickers, stray dogs and small time pick pockets and violent thieves. I also wish to inform you that I have been employed as the security guard on the night shift since the 13th of June 2009 – despite the fact that on paper I am registered…
