Fear vs. Faith

Lendl Rhode's avatarThe Christian 411

I should’ve titled this devil vs. God, because Fear is from the devil and Faith is from God
PS. I will never give the devil a capital  ‘D’ in my life, he does not deserve that
Moving on –
Faith is one of the hardest parts of being a Christian for me. Its because we have to have complete trust in something we cannot see.
We are faced with so many really terrible situations and we know these are trials and lessons but, often we fail.
We fail because our faith is tested and we don’t think God can cover us in this area.
What is Faith?
Faith is defined as belief with strong conviction; firm belief in something for which there may be no tangible proof; complete trust, confidence, reliance or devotion.
Faith is the opposite of doubt
How do you grow your faith?
In Romans 10:17 we find…

JESUS MAKES ALL THINGS RIGHT!

Jerry Cartwright's avatarWORLDWIDE INTERNET EVANGELISM

What a shame it is to see what politics has done to our nation. There is no greater proof of how incapable man is of governing himself. Only Jesus Christ has the answer to man’s problems! Bending the knee and bowing to God in prayer and confessing our sins to Jesus who changes everything and can make all things right. Luke 18:27 “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

Adoption: The True Heroes are the children

Melissa LeGates, writer/artist's avatarMelissa LeGates professional freelance writer

adoption (Upper right) Lolita, myself, my wife Julie and Mary in Riga, Latvia, throwing keys off Lock Bridge Aug. 24, 2014. Lock Bridge is special to many adoptive families, who write their names on a lock and throw the keys in the water to signify a pact has been made that the family and adopted child will stay together forever.

By Bill Sammons (as told to Melissa LeGates)

Time is running out for millions of orphans worldwide, who will age out of orphanages and foster care, and find themselves homeless. We were blessed to provide one of them with a happy ending and a forever home. It was a long journey to get here but worth every minute of heartache. This is our story.

If adoption is a roller coaster, and it is, then we completely jumped the tracks in September 2013.

For more than a year, my wife Julie and…

Striving or Strife?

AskOtis?'s avatarSome Jesus Things

Strife's Campfire verse graphicThere are those who thrive on strife. Constantly finding fault, nitpicking, bickering, starting trouble, making mountains out of mole hills, and trying to making their senseless issues yours. They live and thrive on the chaos. The more commotion going on the more they can spread strife and enjoy the adrenaline of the struggle.

This type of person has to constantly have some kind of issue in their life to feed their discontentment. This is how they hide the corruption that comes from within, so they do not have to face themselves.

These are the same ones who complain the most. Exclaiming, “It’s not my fault, woe is me!”

These people can not handle a peaceful, quiet, calm, and serene lifestyle. A lifestyle that seeks the peaceful rest of God. (Hebrews 4:9-11)

Strife can manifest its ugly head equally oppressing heathens, atheists, and Believers alike. For the Christian it…

Nothing Can Separate Us

Earvin Kyle Amacan's avatarChristian Daily Verse

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”Romans 8:38-39

If the guilt you are feeling makes you stop closing to God that is only a tool of our enemy to stop following God. Guilt is their weapon, as long as we are sincere in asking forgiveness, we shouldn’t underestimate our forgiving God.

I remember there was a time when felt of giving up playing in worship team because I had a family time conflict with Sunday service. So it was usual every Sunday I got late and lose my mood of worship. I really don’t want to be late but conflict is inevitable as well as hurting feelings…

Lord I Lift Your Name On High Meaning

abeamacan's avatarChristian Song Meaning

Lord I Lift Your Name On High was recorded by MercyMe that appears on their album Traces of Rain, Volume 1 which was released on 1996 but both lyrics and music were written by Rick Founds in 1989.

This song is a cycle of redemption and it was compared with the water cycle. We should know that God is our Creator. He is our Lord God and as a result we should thank and praise His name on high.

We must praise Him for His unending mercy. Our salvation is from God and He gave many spiritual blessing to us. As a response we must praise His glory. As a Human being we should give Him a truly praise that He deserves.  Our Lord is so Good. God is love.  Lord I Lift Your Name On High! Amen!

Lyrics:

Lord I lift Your name on high
Lord I love to sing Your praises

truth for all of us's avatartruthforallus

Hi to all who have read my blogs. first I would like to say sorry for any comments I haven’t replied to. it has been a crazy couple of years. I haven’t really been near this blog. only because I haven’t really known what to say. I went through a tough time not long after my last post. but I have learnt a lot since then. I am seriously looking at putting all of what I have learnt in a book but I don’t really know how.

I now call God, Jesus and Holy Spirit my friends. because that is what they have become. I had to learn to let go of all I have been taught and just live life with them. I am going to try and put together some more posts to share where I am and what I have found. I am not sure how long…

What matters most for a seeker in the spiritual pursuit?

prasanna74's avatarMethods And Solutions Consulting

What matters most for a seeker in the spiritual pursuit?

Self Realization

  • The first and foremost ideal in life must be to lead a truthful life, whether it be through the spiritual quest of Self Realization or through a selfish cum egoistic pursuit of sensuality and materialism. The mode of living, whether it be through the liberal approach of introverted spiritual pursuit or through the utilitarian approach of extroverted materialistic cum sensual pursuit is secondary or immaterial provided our ideals are prioritized for the ultimate achievement of the selfless ideal of Self Realization. Though the spiritual pursuit is the ultimate solution, one cannot overstep one’s true level of spiritual evolution. This is because overstepping beyond one’s present caliber will only result in injuring oneself that will consequently result in unnecessary slow down of spiritual progress. Everything within the limits or in moderation or gradual improvisation is most recommended or prescribed by the…

Fear

Jason M. Rabago's avatarFramework to Success

Fear is one of the biggest enemies to success. Fear disguises itself in many shapes and forms. It’s slick and devious enough to keep you from achieving results without you even knowing it. It can keep you locked in a position to where you can’t move forward and reach that next level of progress.

To be a success you must take risk. This is where fear can take you and your future hostage, and usually for most people it happens in the beginning. When that vision of a bright future comes to the forefront of your mind, fear comes in right away and tells you it’s too risky, or if you do “this” then you may lose “that” if you fail. Fear likes to expose your failure before you even try to do anything! At this point, this is fear trying to shove you into a cage as you envision…

Lesson 1: The Word of God and Faith

The reason we start with the Word of God and faith is because they will act as two foundational principles that we can build upon as we go through the four lessons of this Bible study. We will establish that the Word of God is infallible and that you can put your faith in every word that is written in your Bible. When you put your faith in His Word, God will begin to do some amazing things in your life.

The Store of Happiness

Lift Up's avatarLift Up

The-Beatitudes

The other night, I listened to a Francis Chan message on YouTube. He was talking about the abounding, backward joy we experience when we suffer for Jesus’ sake. One of his comments has been running circles in my mind:

“In the Beatitudes, it’s like Jesus walked into the store of happiness and changed all the price tags.”

That comment has inspired this post.

You walk in, and you are met by a salesman. Inscribed on his name tag are the letters D-E-C-E-I-T.

“Hello sir! Welcome! My name is Deceit, and I’m here to guide your experience through The Store of Happiness today. Is there anything in particular you are looking for?”

“Hi, umm..”

You’re puzzled. Perplexed. Deceit’s smile looks so gentle, and his voice rings so sweet. But his eyes look peculiar. Shifty. You’re not sure if you can trust him.

“Well, I don’t suppose so. I was told that this store has every…

What Your Wedding Ring Means To You

firengasmarriagerescue's avatarFire n Gas Marriage Rescue

As I reflect back on the years of affairs and how many times I looked down at my wedding ring wondering what it “really meant” to me.  As we went through one of the last affairs, I thought I wanted another wedding ring as that defined what my marriage was.  In my mind E had defied everything it was suppose to mean. It wasn’t the ring that defined my marriage, it was the love I have for E that made the ring more special and the commitment to stay with him no matter what he was struggling with.

Today my mother and I were talking about my grandmothers wedding ring.  My mother wants to wear it and yet it makes her miss my grandmother. My grandmother would’ve wanted her to wear it. It should remind her if the love that my grandmother had for my grandfather. The love that made…

Is Social Reform Our Calling As Christians?

daxhughes's avatarInfected Saint

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16

Our world is a mess. Fake news, disunity, racism, immorality, hatred, fear… the list goes on. What is our duty as a Christian? Are we the ones to try and fix this? To make all the social woes go away? Is God calling us to reform this nation and make it a better place? My head is spinning lately. I feel overwhelmed and it seems everything I say is emotionally charged and polarizing to someone. This is a scary climate we are in and it’s difficult to know how to navigate.

What did Jesus do? He is our greatest example on how to engage the culture. A deep study of his life shows something very differently than how…

Praise; Key to God’s Blessing

ckeminternational's avatarCHRIST KINGDOM EXPANSION MISSION INTERNATIONAL

TOPIC:   Praise Key to God’s Blessing

Text:        Psalm 112:1-3

Preacher: Pastor Adetula, Dorcas (Ph. D)

Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, Who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever..

WHAT IS PRAISE?

Praise means thanking someone for what we believe they will do for us. It means thanking God for  what He has not yet done for us. This is higher than thanksgiving. God promised to give Abraham a son and he believed God for it and praised Him. Between the time you ask something from God and the time you see its manifestation, fill the gap with PRAISE.

Praise means to boast about God. 1 Corinthians 1:31.

WHY DO WE NEED TO PRAISE GOD? Psalm 112:1-3
