You Must Avoid Curses

Galatians_3-13-1: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree
Galatians_3-13-1: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree

MEMORIZE:

“Abstain from all appearance of evil.” – 1Thessalonians 5:22

Read:  Genesis 4:3-16

3.  And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord.

4.  Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering,

5.  But He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.

6.  So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?

7.  If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

8.  Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

Advertisements

9.  Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”

10. And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.

11. So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

12.  When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”

13.  And Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is greater than I can bear!

14. Surely You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground; I shall be hidden from Your face; I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me.”

15.  And the Lord said to him, “Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.” And the Lord set a mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him.

16.  Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden.

MESSAGE:

A curse is a summon to spiritual forces to work against someone or a group of people, while a divine curse is a summon to all forces in heaven, on earth, and beneath the earth to do the same. No matter how strong you are, I’m sure you don’t want any spiritual force to work against you; hence, you must avoid curses.

In Judges 9:5-57, we see an example of a curse impacting an entire city. Jotham had escaped being killed by his brother, Abimelech, who had killed seventy of his brothers, and he responded by placing a curse on Abimelech and the men of Shechem who helped him. Three years later, God allowed an evil spirit to execute the curse, leading to chaos and destruction in the land and, ultimately, Abimelech’s death.

I heard a story when I was young that helped shape my actions as I grew older. It was reported that a young man who was travelling on a journey passed by an old man and laughed mockingly at him for no reason. The old man responded by saying, “I may be too weak to do anything, but the basket is never satisfied with water.” After saying this, he continued on his way. Suddenly, the young man felt an intense thirst, so he rushed to the nearest hut to drink some water before continuing his journey. Shortly after, he became thirsty again, and he stopped at another hut to drink more water. After many more similar stops, some people sensed that something was amiss. They questioned him, and he told them the old man’s statement. They shouted, “Ah! That is a curse.” They found the old man and begged him to forgive the young man. He agreed, released him from the curse, and immediately, the intense thirst stopped.

Beloved, avoid actions that can attract curses to you. Honour elders, and do not cheat or hurt other people.  If you have done nothing wrong and someone curses you, it will not come to pass because a causeless curse will never come into effect Proverbs 26:2

When you study your Bible, you will see that certain actions can attract curses from God; avoid them like a plague. If a man’s curse can be as powerful as the one in the story I shared above, how much more curses from God? I will discuss more about avoiding God’s curses tomorrow.

If there’s any curse currently operating in your life, I decree that it will be broken today, in Jesus’ name.

Key Point.

Be wise; avoid anything that can attract a curse.

PRAYER POINT.

1.   Father, thank You for the salvation of my soul through Jesus Christ

2.   Father, give me the wisdom that will keep me and my descendants away from curses

3.   Father, give me the grace to keep a pure heart before You in Jesus’ Name

4.  Father, unlike Cain, I ask for the wisdom and humility to heed Your warnings.

5.  Father,   open my heaven and keep it widely opened and cause the ground to yield its strength to me in Jesus Name

6.   Father, by Your Spirit open the eyes of all those who are under a curse to run to Jesus Christ, the Curse Breaker

7.  Father, give the above mentioned the grace never to return to their vomit again lest something worse come upon them again in Jesus Name

Thank You LORD!

Hymn 601. Behold how pleasant for brethren

1-Corinthians_15-58: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord
1-Corinthians_15-58: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord

1:

Behold how pleasant for brethren

To dwell in unity,

Brethren whose hearts are in oneness

In holy fellowship.

2:

It is like the precious ointment,

That ran down Aaron’s beard,

And on it went down to his skirts

And brought forth sweet perfume.

3:

For it is pleasant as the dew

That descends on Zion;

Where God reveals His great glory,

And shows to us His grace.

Thank You Jesus,

“The Last Drumbeat” – A Soldier Who Never Danced Home Again

“The Last Drumbeat” – A Soldier Who Never Danced Home Again

His name was Staff Sergeant Chinedu Nkemakonam.

To his village, he was the boy who always danced first at every masquerade festival.

To the Nigerian Army, he was a fearless fighter — the man who never let a single bullet scare him.

But to his wife, Amaka…

He was just “Nedu” — the husband who never stopped smiling, even when he was tired from battle.

The call came on a Friday.

Troops were needed urgently to back up men pinned down near the Sambisa axis.

He packed quickly. Hugged his twin sons. Gave Amaka a note sealed in nylon.

“If I don’t come back, open this.”

She slapped his chest playfully, laughing through her tears:

“Stop that, Nedu! You’ll come back. You always do.”

He smiled. He always smiled.

The operation was brutal.

A hidden IED tore through their Hilux.

Shrapnel hit three soldiers.

Chinedu was the last man standing.

He radioed for air support, dragged one bleeding corporal behind cover, and kept firing…

…until he didn’t.

When reinforcements arrived, they found Chinedu slumped over his radio — hand still clutching the mic.

“Enemy approaching from the east… hold line… I repeat—”

And that was his last transmission.

Three days later.

A knock on Amaka’s door.

Three officers in dress uniform.

One folded flag.

She knew.

She opened the nylon he gave her. Inside was a letter written in ink and rain-stained fingerprints:

“If you’re reading this, Amaka, it means I didn’t make it home. But I died for you. For our boys. For this land we call Nigeria. Tell Chisom and Ebuka that their father was a warrior. And tell Mama… I’ll see her again in the land of ancestors.”

Today, in the compound of Chinedu’s family house, his mother still beats the ogene (metal gong) every evening — not in celebration, but in mourning.

And his twin boys?

They now wear little wooden necklaces carved with the letters “SN” — for Sergeant Nedu.

And when anyone asks who their father was, they say:

 “Our father danced into battle… and never stopped until the music faded.”

He was a son, a father, a fighter. And now, a name carried by the wind.

Hymn 604. How good and pleasant ’tis to see

John_16-33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world
John_16-33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world

1:

How good and pleasant ’tis to see,

When brethren cordially agree,

And kindly think and speak the same!

A family of faith and love,

Combin’d to seek the things above,

And spread the common Saviour’s fame.

2:

The God of grace, who all invites

Who in our unity delights,

Vouchsafes our intercourse to bless;

Revives us with refreshing show’rs,

The fulness of his blessing pours,

And keeps our minds in perfect peace.

3:

Jesus, Thou precious corner stone,

Preserve inseparably one

Whom Thou didst by Thy Spirit join:

Still let us in Thy Spirit live,

And to Thy church the pattern give

Of unanimity divine.

4:

Still let us to each other cleave,

And from Thy plenitude receive

Constant supplies of hallowing grace,

Till to a perfect man we rise,

O’ertake our kindred in the skies

And find prepar’d our heav’nly place.

Thank You Jesus,

Hymn 602: Come, and let us sweetly join

Hebrews_4-16: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. .God's Throne Of Grace
Hebrews_4-16: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. .God’s Throne Of Grace

1:

Come, and let us sweetly join

Christ to praise in hymns divine;

Give we all, with one accord,

Glory to-our common Lord.

2:

Hands, and hearts, voices raise;

Sing as in the ancient days;

Antedate the joys above,

Celebrate the feast of love.

3:

Strive we, in affection strive;

Let the purer flame revive,

Such as in the martyrs glowed,

Dying champions for their God.

4:

We, like them, may live and love;

Called we are their joys to prove,

Sav’d with them from ffuture wrath,

Partners of like precious faith.

5:

Sing we then in Jesus’ name,

Now as yesterdays the same;

ONe in every time and place,

Full for all of truth and grace.

6:

We for Christ, our Master, stand,

Lights in a benighted land:

We our dying Lord confess;

We are Jesus’ witnesses.

7:

Witnesses that Cchrist hath died,

We with Him are crucified;

Christ hath burst the bands of death,

We His quick’ning Spirit breathe.

8:

Christ is now gone up on high,

Thither all our wishes fly;

Sits at God’s right hand above,

There with Him we reign in love.

Thank You Jesus,

Hymn 603: Jesus, Lord, we look to Thee

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

1:

Jesus, Lord, we look to Thee,

Let us in Thy name agree;

Show Thyself the Prince of Peace;

Bid our strife for ever cease.

2:

By Thy reconciling love,

Every stumbling block remove;

Each to each unite, endear,

Come, and spread Thy banner here.

3:

Make us of one heart and mind,

Courteous, pitiful, and kind,

Lowly, meek, in thought and word,

Altogether like our Lord.

4:

Let us for each other care,

Each the other’s burden bear,

To Thy church the pattern give,

Show how true believers live.

5:

Free from anger and from pride,

Let us thus in God abide;

All the depths of love express,

All the heights of holiness.

6:

Let us then with joy remove

To the family above;

On the wings of angels fly,

Show how true believers die.

Hymn 605. Happy the heart where graces reign

Romans_5-17: For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ
Romans_5-17: For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ

1:

Happy the heart where graces reign,

Where love inspires the breast;

Love is the brightest of the train,

And perfects all the rest.

2:

Knowledge, alas! ’tis all in vain,

And all in vain our fear;

Our stubborn sins will fight and reign,

If love be absent there.

3:

‘Tis love that makes our cheerful feet

In swift obedience move:

The devils know, and tremble too;

But satan cannot love.

4:

This is the grace that lives and sings.

When faith and hope shall cease;

‘Tis this shall strike our joyful strings

In the sweet realm of bliss.

5:

Before we quite forsake our clay,

Or leave this dark abode,

The wings of love bear us away,

To see our gracious God.

Hymn 606. Through the night of doubt and sorrow

2-Peter_3-10: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
2-Peter_3-10: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

1:

Through the night of doubt and sorrow,

Onward goes the pilgrim band,

Singing songs of expectation,

Marching to the promised land.

2:

Clear before us, through the darkness,

Gleams and burns the guiding light;

Brother clasps the hand of brother,

Stepping fearless through the night;

3:

One the light of God’s own presence,

O’er His ransomed people shed,

Chasing far the gloom and terror,

Brightening all the path we tread.

Advertisements

4:

One the object of our journey,

One the faith which never tires,

One the earnest looking forward,

One the hope our God inspires.

5:

One the strain that lips of thousands

Lift as from the heart of one;

One the conflict, one the peril,

One the march in God begun.

6:

One the gladness of rejoicing,

On the far eternal shore,

Where the one Almighty Father,

Reigns in love for evermore.

Advertisements

7:

Onward therefore, pilgrim brothers,

Onward with the cross our aid!

Bear its shame, and fight its battle,

Till we rest beneath its shade.

8:

Soon shall come the great awaking,

Soon the rending of the tomb;

Then the scattering of all shadows,

And the end of toil and gloom.

Thank You Jesus,

Diogo Jota (4 December 1996 - 3 July 2025)

Liverpool and Portugal Striker Diogo Jota (28) has reportedly died in a car accident in Spain. Along with his kid brother, Andre Jota (26).

According to Marca, their car went off the highway and burst into flames which extended into vegetations.

Also according to reports from Reuters and BBC, Diogo Jota’s Lamborghini suffered a tire blowout during overtaking, causing it to veer off the A-52 highway near Zamora, Spain. The impact likely ruptured fuel lines or the tank, igniting leaked fuel via sparks or hot components, leading to the car bursting into flames. The fire then spread to nearby vegetation. Tragic loss.

Jota just got married on June 22nd.

Thank You Jesus,

Christ is made the sure Foundation,

Christ the Head and Corner stone,

Chosen of the Lord, and precious,

Binding all the Church in one,

Holy Zion’s help for ever,

And her confidence alone.

To this Temple, where we call Thee,

Come, O Lord of Hosts, today;

With Thy wonted loving kindness,

Hear Thy people as they pray;

And Thy fullest benediction

Shed within its walls always.

3:

Here vouchsafe to all Thy servants

What they ask of Thee to gain,

What they gain from Thee for ever,

With the Blessed to retain,

And hereafter in Thy glory

Evermore with Thee to reign.

4:

Praise and honour to the Father,

Praise and honour to the Son,

Praise and honour to the Spirit,

Ever Three and ever One

One in Might, and One in Glory,

It is July

Welcome To the Month Of July
Advertisements

1.

IT IS JULY, Officially Mid-Year, no pressures but you may have to take your life a little serious so that this year doesn’t end up like last year.

2.

IT IS JULY, Always remember, No relationship, vision, or undertaking can succeed without prayer. The act of praying itself opens the heart to possibility.

3.

IT IS JULY, Don’t seek Pleasure, seek Purpose!

4.

IT IS JULY, If they take you back to places and things you have outgrown….WRONG ASSOCIATION.

5.

IT IS JULY, Don’t applaud yourself for your achievement so far, look for more opportunities to do more.

6.

IT IS JULY, Never mistake your consistent advancement in life as an endorsement for your bad habit. BE CAREFUL.

7.

IT IS JULY, Don’t forget, Your relationship circle is yours to decide. It’s your right to decide who stays or leaves. Find the ‘Why’ for every ‘Who’.

8.

IT IS JULY, When you keep refusing to grow in what you are doing, be sure you are packaging yourself into big time IRRELEVANCE.

9.

IT IS JULY, Start simple. Grow creatively. Innovate courageously. Experiment cautiously. Increase your Impact exponentially.

10.

IT IS JULY, HOPE for it; but most importantly WORK for it.

11.

IT IS JULY, Don’t hype your readiness when your weaknesses are still on the frontline. Pause and work on yourself.

12.

IT IS JULY, GREATNESS demands that you learn how to sweat in PRIVATE so you don’t bleed in PUBLIC.

13.

IT IS JULY, Learn what You need to learn Soon.

Un-learn what you need to un-learn soon.

Re-learn what You need to relearn Soon. No time to waste!

14.

IT IS JULY, Always learn to look DRAMA into the eye and say- Not Today, Not ever; I won’t let you capture my Peace. Never ever.

15.

IT IS JULY, HOPE is the red carpet on which a Great Future marches on. Don’t lose Hope, there is laughter ahead.

Hope this made little sense???

Thank You Jesus,

Salvation Prayers

If you don’t Know Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour and would like to accept him into your life as your personal Lord and Saviour, Please say this prayer:

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward You. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that Your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your Will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
