PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:

THE MESSAGE:

Today’s devotional takes a sober look at a satanic luxury that we all should avoid. This is because many people ignorantly pamper the anger in them instead of dealing with it thoroughly. The Holy Spirit has a word of caution for those who have acquired this satanic and expensive luxury called anger. It is heavy satanic luggage or burden. If you are carrying this heavy luggage, you must get rid of it.

Anger is indeed an expensive but depletive luxury. It is also a dangerous luxury, which is why it is said that it is a letter short of danger. Anger and uncontrollable temper will shorten your life and reveal the bad aspects of your true nature. Anger is a satanic weapon against you. Whoever angers you conquers you. It is a temporary madness. It starts with insanity and ends in regrets. Only fools and unintelligent people get angry easily. There is a saying that the emptier the pot, the quicker the boiling. Most angry people are fools. Anger is worse than witchcraft, and it destroys a man’s life. The Bible counsels us to avoid sin when angry. This calls for self-control.

A man fasted and prayed on the mountain for seven days. When the man came back home, he was very hungry. He demanded food from his wife. Rather than attend to his request, the wife told him that she was going to get her hair done. The man got very furious and hit the wife in anger. She never stood up from where she fell. The man broke his fast in a police cell, all because he could not control his anger. Anger destroys relationships and puts marriages, homes, and families asunder.

Anger terminates precious things. It is a form of cruelty. When you allow anger to rest in your bosom, it will lead to terrible problems. Take note of the words, “in their anger they slew a man.” Anger can become strong enough to lead to murder. It is highly destructive. Do not allow anger to lead you to hell. In case you are guilty of this destructive habit, repent now and pray yourself out of the grip of the demon called anger. Jesus is willing and ready to set you free.

Father, Please Uproot Completely Every Seed Of Anger In My Life In Jesus Christ Mighty Name, I Pray, Amen! Anger, The Path To Destruction.

Father, Please Uproot Completely Every Seed Of Anger In My Life In Jesus Christ Mighty Name, I Pray, Amen! Anger, The Path To Destruction.

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please deliver me from the grip of anger.

MEMORY VERSE: “Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.” – Ecclesiastes 7:9

BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 4:3-8 (KJV)

3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Anger is a strong feeling of displeasure, hostility or antagonism towards someone or something, usually combined with an urge to harm. Today’s bible text makes it clear that Cain killed his brother Abel because he was wroth (angry) against him. And Cain was severely punished by God for his action. Anger is commonly seen as little expression and it is often overlooked as sin. But please remember that little foxes spoil the vine (Song of Solomon 2:15).

i. Envy can lead to anger and ultimately to murder, if not quickly nip on board.

ii. Cain killed Abel because he was angry with him.

iii. And he did not go unpunished.

A: MOSES AS A CASE STUDY:

In Genesis 49:5-7 Jacob cursed Simeon and Levi over their anger.

In Exodus 2:1-10 a man from the house of Levi got married to a woman from Levi’s house.

Moses killed an Egyptian for maltreating an Israelite (unchecked anger). – Exodus 2:13

Moses did not enter the promised land because of anger. – Numbers 20:10-13

Anger can stop a child of God from reaching his/her God given goal. Whether the anger is inherited or developed as a result of life situation, please nip it on the bud before it stops your destiny.

B: THE WAY OUT OF ANGER.

i). Give yourself to constant prayer. – Luke 18:1

ii). Always study the word of God. – 2 Timothy 2:15

iii). Give heed to Holy Spirit instructions and bear the fruit of the Spirit. – Galatians 5:22-25

SUMMARY: Please glue to the Holy Spirit for the infilling, then anger will become a stranger in your life.

CONCLUSION: Anger is not part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, a Christian should not exhibit it. It can lead to destruction if we refuse to completely yield to the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Father, thank You for Your words that are ever new.
  2. Father, please help me to always remember Your words as it concerns anger in my life.
  3. Father, please uproot completely every seed of anger in all RCCG members.
  4. Father, please help Daddy G.O. to finish strong.
  5. Personal prayer requests.

Thank You Jesus.

Jesus Loves You.

Forgiveness Therapy. The Burden Anger And Hatred

Luke_6-37: Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven

Luke_6-37: Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven

Forgiveness Therapy. The  Burden Anger And Hatred

Unforgiveness is classified in medical books as a disease. According to Dr. Steven Standiford, chief of surgery at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, refusing to forgive makes people sick and keeps them that way.

With that in mind, forgiveness therapy is now being used to help treat diseases, such as cancer.

“It’s important to treat emotional wounds or disorders because they really can hinder someone’s reactions to the treatments, even someone’s willingness to pursue treatment,” Standiford explained.

Of all cancer patients, 61 percent have forgiveness issues, and of those, more than half are severe, according to research by Dr. Michael Barry, a pastor and the author of the book, The Forgiveness Project.

“Harboring these negative emotions, this anger and hatred, creates a state of chronic anxiety,” he said.

Chronic anxiety very predictably produces excess adrenaline and cortisol, which deplete the production of natural killer cells, which is your body’s foot soldier in the fight against cancer,” he explained.

Barry said the first step in learning to forgive is to realize how much we have been forgiven by God.

“When a person forgives from the heart – which is the God’s standard we see in Matthew 18, forgiveness from the heart – we find that they are able to find a sense of peacefulness. Quite often our patients refer to that as a feeling of lightness,” he said.

Barry said most people don’t realize what a burden anger and hatred were until they let them go.

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

—Proverbs 15:1

READ: Proverbs 15:1-4

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. —Proverbs 15:1

My car broke down in a tunnel during rush hour in downtown Boston. Angry drivers expressed their frustration as they struggled past me. Eventually, the car was towed to a station for repairs. Later it broke down again, stranding me along the Interstate at 2 a.m. Back to the shop it went.

Unfortunately, the repair shop also doubled as a parking lot during Red Sox baseball games. When I arrived after work the next day to pick up my car, it was hemmed in by 30 other vehicles!

Let’s just say I was less than Christlike in my initial reaction. I ranted and raved, and then, realizing it was only making them less willing to help me at the close of their day, I decided to give up. I stormed toward the glass doors and struggled to get them open. My anger increased when the station workers laughed at me.

I had barely made it out when I realized how unlike Christ I’d been. Chastened, I rapped on the locked doors and mouthed “I’m sorry” to the staff inside. They were stunned! They let me back in, and I meekly told them that Christians shouldn’t behave as I had. Minutes later, they were shifting cars to free up mine. I learned the truth that soft rather than harsh words can change circumstances (Prov. 15:1). —Randy Kilgore

O may I find in anger’s grip
The strength to temper tongue and lip;
But failing that, may God grant me
The courage for apology. —Kilgore

A soft answer has often been the means of breaking a hard heart.

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
Mark 11:25

Don’t waste time holding onto anger toward someone who has wronged you. Forgive that person today.

John 20:23 warns, “If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” If you withhold forgiveness, you will be denied forgiveness as well.

I know you have reasons for not forgiving-someone hurt you too deeply, they did it on purpose, or they haven’t asked to be forgiven. Whatever your reason is, it isn’t listed as a condition for forgiveness in the Bible.

God knows your situation and He has still called you to forgive-no matter the circumstances. No one is perfect-everyone needs to be forgiven. Do not stand in the way of your own relationship with God by denying forgiveness to someone else.

Luke 6:37 says, “Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt you, even if they don’t deserve it. It may not change how you feel about what they did, but it will change you. It’s too important to your spiritual health to put off.

Cain and Abel

CAIN AND
ABEL

Why did Cain
kill his brother?

When we read
the story of Cain and Abel (Genesis 4), we see the effects of sin in the world.

The first
sin was when Adam and Eve disobeyed God.

In this
story, we see the sins of jealousy and hatred leading to anger and murder.

Both Cain
and Abel presented gifts to God, but Abel’s gifts pleased God more than Cain’s.
So Cain was jealous of God’s favour. Eventually, Cain’s jealousy and anger led
him to kill his own brother.

Jealousy and
anger can cause people to do terrible things; even to the people they love.

Watch out
for those feelings and deal with them before they hurt you, too!

May Our God The Almighty prosper
Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name,
Amen!
