As an experienced teacher with nine years of service in various private schools across four states, I’ve encountered numerous challenges. However, my current school has left me utterly dissatisfied. The anti-teacher policies and biased leadership have created a toxic environment.

Unreasonable Expectations

I’m tasked with monitoring students’ lunch, ensuring they finish their food, and reporting absences to parents. Yet, when teachers are absent, parents show little concern. Recently, I was instructed to collect a student’s scores from multiple teachers, despite being overwhelmed with responsibilities.

Lack of Support

The proprietoriess consistently favors students and parents over teachers. Disciplining students results in blame, while failing to correct them leads to public reprimand. Students can insult teachers with impunity, and any attempt to address misbehavior is misconstrued.

Unfair Treatment

I’ve experienced firsthand the proprietoriess’s bias. She protects select staff while unfairly judging others. Her emotional and sentimental approach creates divisions among teachers. Gossiping with favored staff about other employees further exacerbates the issue.

Contradictory Policies

Deducting scores for cheating is discouraged, and punishing students for exam malpractice is problematic. Teachers are expected to maintain discipline without effective support.

Economic Exploitation

Parents can bully teachers, backed by the school owners. Refusing to pay for private lessons can lead to repercussions, as the proprietoriess prioritizes customer satisfaction over teacher welfare.

Conclusion

Despite my passion for teaching, this school’s environment has left me frustrated. The lack of support, unfair treatment, and contradictory policies have created an unbearable work environment. I hope that sharing my experience will spark change.
