When You Feel Like Giving Up. When You Feel Like Giving Up: 5 Strategies to Keep Going.

When you feel like giving up, talk to someone. You were never meant to walk through this life alone. Often, angels come in human form. Many problems are diffused by the love of those around us. 

When you feel like giving up, sing an uplifting song. Music has healing power. Also, listen to an inspiring message. One kind word can change your day. One inspiring word can change your destiny.

When you feel like giving up, meditate on your life’s purpose – the positive difference you’re making in this world. Our lives are fuelled by a sense of belonging, meaning, significance and purpose. 

When you feel like giving up, exercise. Jogging, swimming, bowling, tennis, or a mere walk in the park reduces cortisol (the stress hormone) and activates several happy hormones in your body.

When you feel like giving up – pray. Don’t be anxious about anything. Instead, take everything to God in prayer. He is our refuge. He is our strength. He is our loving Father. He’s just a prayer away.

Empowered to Obey: God’s Destiny for You.

God doesn’t just give you the desire; He gives you the power to obey. It may not make sense, it may feel over your head, but this is a destiny moment. If you will make a move, God will step in and help you do what you couldn’t do. Finishing strong isn’t about perfection. It’s about staying faithful to the end. The grace of God fuels our perseverance. So press on, even when it’s hard. God said in Philippians, “I will bring you to a flourishing finish.” (Philippians 1:6 MSG). The Cure For Backsliding. God’s Invitation To Backsliders: Repent And Live Holy.

MEMORISE

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19

READ: Jeremiah 3:11-15

[11] And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.

[12] Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever.

[13] Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.

[14] Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:

[15] And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

MESSAGE.

Yesterday, I taught about backsliding and how God does not hate backsliders but only hates the act. Backsliding is the terrible state of returning to sin after being saved by Jesus Christ.

In today’s Bible reading, God invited backsliding Israel to repent and live holy. If you are backslidden, He is extending that invitation to you now because He is not interested in the death of any sinner or backslider. Instead, He wants them to reunite with Him.

Restoration for a backslider starts with acknowledging sins and having a desire to get back on track with God. In other words, backsliders must be remorseful about their sins and genuinely repent of them so that they can experience forgiveness and times of refreshing in God’s presence.

My dear child, it is a terrible thing to live or die in sin, and this is why you must surrender your heart to the Lord totally.

If you are backslidden and would like to get back on track with God, please say these words, “Lord Jesus, I am sorry for going back to my vomit. Please give me complete victory over sin, in Jesus’ name, Amen!”

If you are backslidden, find a branch of RCCG near you and tell the pastor that you want to join the Believer’s Class.

Switzerland has been named the greatest country in the world by U.S. News & World Report, in its annual Best Countries rankings.

This is the third time in a row Switzerland, with its population of 8.7million, has swiped the top spot. The central European nation is followed by Japan, the United States, Canada and Australia in the latest edition of the analysis.

The rankings are based on a global survey in which nearly 17,000 people across 36 nations are asked their opinions on a whole range of different qualities, such as how dynamic, safe and a leader that country is, as well as how much it cares about human rights and how economically stable it is.

God Doesn’t Cancel Dreams: Holding On to Faith and Hope.

We may have given up, but the good news is God hasn’t given up. He doesn’t cancel dreams. He’s called the Author and the Finisher of our faith. Even when we feel like giving up, God continues to support, guide us, and He never abandons the dreams He’s placed in our heart. Even when we feel like giving up, God is still at work, fulfilling His promises and bringing our dreams to life. He never cancels what He has started in us. Keep the faith and trust that His timing is perfect. It’s not over until God says it is. Your story will not end until your victory is confirmed. Always keep going, keep faith and hope alive even in your toughest moments. (Romans 5:1-5). Amen. Good morning. Shalom.

The Power of Contentment: Trusting God in Every Season.

CONTENTMENT is not settling. It is the ability to enjoy what you have, where you are, while you’re trusting GOD for whatever is lacking. To experience contentment:

* Realise that you’re already blessed. Regardless of what you “don’t have” you have enough right now to be grateful. Gratitude attracts Increase.

* Know that GOD is with you. Even if you’re not faithful to Him, He’s faithful to you. Do your best to give GOD your best but don’t forget His promise to “be with you always”.

* Say where you’re going. Your words are powerful. Life is waiting for instructions from your lips. So, speak your desire. You will have what you say (and work towards).

* Maximise where you are till GOD opens doors. You can’t curse where you are and expect it to be blessed. I don’t care where you call ‘home’, GOD is there and if He’s there, anything is possible.

Thank And Praise God Always. Thanksgiving: The Gateway to God’s Blessings and Favour.

 FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:” (PSALM 92:1).

Thanksgiving is a qualitative spiritual substance that is highly priced in the heavenly kingdom. As a vessel which serves God, you must always be full of it. 1 THESSALONIANS 5:18 says, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Thanksgiving is God’s will for you; which means, you have been recreated in Christ so that as a vessel that serves God, you will regularly serve God thanks. To remain in God’s will and plan for your life, your heart and lips must never run out of thanks.

It is not possible to be full of thanks and complaints at the same time, as these two are contrary to each other.

Any believer who is always complaining is not only void of thanks but also outside God’s will. This is dangerous. God’s blessings-favour, grace provision, etc. locates you in the will of God, so never let complaining, murmuring, and grumbling push you off the track of your blessings!

“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ;” (EPHESIANS 5:19-20).

Another lesson here is that thanksgiving should not be restricted to a particular day, time, or event. Thanksgiving should not be a seasonal activity but one that is done at all times and in every situation.

If you thank God only when He has answered your prayers or done something for you, that thanksgiving is seasonal! God is not pleased with seasonal thanksgiving because seasonal ‘thank-givers’ are part of those who rob Him.

When the going is good, give Him thanks. That is easy. Anybody can do that. But when the going is bad, do you give Him thanks? Did I hear you say, for what? Give it to Him because He demands it; it is His right.

When you are spiritually high, give Him thanks. When you are spiritually down, give Him thanks. When you are healthy, give Him thanks. When you fall ill give Him thanks. When you have just been promoted give Him thanks. When you have lost your job give Him thanks.

From today beloved, let your thanksgiving no longer be conditioned upon any particular situation. Thank God whether you feel like it or not because it is our due to God. In His faithfulness He will give you reasons to give Him thanks over and over again

Dearly Beloveth, reflect over negative situations you have been through and thank God for not allowing you to drown in the fire or floods of life in Jesus Christ victorious name Amen

See You When You Come Back.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your destiny is at the mercy of your tongue.

In one of services one day, by revelation, I spoke prophetically about someone who was traveling to a far eastern country, precisely China. I said that the Lord would take the person there and bring them back safely.

A woman came out and said “Sir, I am the one you were talking about. I’m traveling to China this Friday.”

Then I said to her, “Go and return safely. See you when you come back.”

So, she travelled and went to China. But on her way back, between China and Dubai, in the course of the flight, about thirty-five thousand feet above sea level, the aircraft’s engine failed. The aircraft dropped in altitude by ten thousand feet within five minutes. It was dropping like a stone.

At this point the pilot announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for a crash.”

Then immediately, passengers started screaming and shouting. In a lamenting voice, someone beside her said, “Is this how we are going to die?”

But this woman, the member of our church who earlier received the prophecy, “Go and return safely. See you when you come back”, stood up and said, “If you are about to die, I am not about to die. My pastor told me, ‘See you when you come back. And he will see me when I get back’”.

After the declaration she began to pray in the language of the Holy Ghost.

All of a sudden, within five minutes, the aircraft gained altitude and stabilised.

Then the pilot announced again, “I don’t know what happened, but everything is in order now.”

Beloved, that was the impact of the tongue. You can live by your words and you can die by your words. But death is not your portion in Jesus’ Name. Your destiny is at the mercy of your tongue.

Remember this: Your destiny is at the mercy of your tongue.

ASSIGNMENTS:

Don’t talk carelessly.

Shape your life and destiny with your words.

PRAYER:

Lord, I receive the grace to shape my life with my Words. Give me the grace to talk gracefully and positively, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Let There Be Light.

Genesis 1:3, John 1:1-5.

A very powerful prayer to pray.

A little over a year ago, one of our dear sisters and leaders in church was pregnant with a baby after a long wait. It was such big news to us. And she had to go abroad for her delivery due to the sensitive nature of the pregnancy.

She put to bed but a fierce battle began. We kind of sensed it was going to be tough so we started praying. She began feeling some unexplainable pain. The medical team made up of some of the very best in the UK, could not figure out the cause of the pain. They deployed some of the best equipment and gadgets, medication but could not address this pain. Her organs began to shut down. We organised a 24 hours prayer watch in church over zoom and reached out to a few minister friends to join with us in prayer. But it just won’t shift. At a point, this medical team finally admitted they had done their very best and knew nothing else to do. At this point, I knew it had to be GOD and GOD alone. Then I had a moment of light! The word came.  “LET THERE BE LIGHT” – I knew by the Spirit that was the key. Then we changed our prayer point and just called out for the light of God to shine and expose the darkness. A few hours later, the doctors decided to go in just one more time. But this time, Lo and behold, they found hiding somewhere in her stomach area, in our sister’s words “a blood clot measuring about a litre” – something their machines could not locate. This was clearly the work of darkness.  But then the light shone and darkness could not hide.

”And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. “

John 1:5 NKJV

Can I pray for someone reading this now, every work of darkness in your life right now is exposed by the LIGHT OF GOD’S WORD. I declare, LET THERE BE LIGHT! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Weapons Of Our Warfare. Diligence.

TEXT: 2 Peter 1: 1 – 8 & Proverbs 22:29.

INTRODUCTION.

Diligence is the totality of the effort to do one’s part while keeping the faith and reliance in God. A diligent fellow will make every effort to follow through on everything he starts, which requires self-discipline.

OUTLINE 1: The Significance of Diligence.

Diligence teaches us to learn about contentment and be grateful for the work that lies ahead of us, no matter how hard it is. Phil: 4:12.

Diligence, as taught in the Bible, is much more than about achieving temporal success; rather it’s about stewardship of the gifts and callings God has placed on our lives.

OUTLINE 2: God’s Expectations.

Diligence, when combined with faith, assures spiritual success. Diligence as one of secret virtues describes thoroughness, completeness, and persistence of an action, particularly in matters of faith.

David – Ps 78:70-72; Isaac – Gen 26:12-17; Joseph – Gen 39:1-23; Job – 17:11; Paul – Phil 3:14.

OUTLINE 3: Effects /Benefits of Diligence.

1) Find joy and satisfaction in doing God’s work. Jer 10:23; 1Tim 6:6-7.

2) Our lives are not ours, and we brought nothing to this world, and we will take nothing out of it.

3) You act without having to be told what to do all the time. The sons of Prophet. 2Kings:6:1-3.

4) Focus on the most important things. You prioritise your values. All things are lawful unto me, but not all things are expedient. 1 Cor:6:12-20.

5) Don’t give up when things get hard. 2 Cor:4:9.

6) You pray for guidance and strength. Ps 28:7.

7) It attracts recognition and promotion. Prov 22:29.

8) It attracts patronage in whatever business you do. It wasn’t an accident that Joseph was a sought-after he found himself.

9) It attracts jealousy and criticism. 1 Sam: 17:28; 1Sam 18:7-8.

10) It differentiates between success and failure. Prov 10:4; Prov 12:24; 13:4.

11) It brings about internal joy and fulfilment. 2 Tim 4:7.

Conclusion.

Success is the culmination of adequate preparation and thorough execution. This simply means success will be far from the lazy folks. The need to be diligent in every aspect of endeavour is simply undebatable. Even the Bible makes it clear that diligence is also an essential component of our walk with God. May God help us to be diligent in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen.

Building The Body, Family Devotion

TEXT: Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Family devotion is an essential part of Christian living. God wants every believer to use this platform to nurture members of the family with the word of God. He commands that “thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

Although most Christians believe in the value of family devotion, very few maintain it consistently. This neglect reflects in the Christian values of members of the family, especially the children. We should never allow engagement in either secular and religious activities or the pressure of duty to deprive us of the benefits of this scriptural way of nurturing members of our family.

Suitable Time For a consistent family devotion, the first thing to decide is the time that will be most suitable for the family. Usually, early in the morning and later in the evening when everybody is still physically alert are the best times. All members should see and accept it as an integral part of the family life.

Where there are young children in the family, they should not be kept awake till late in the night to participate in the family devotion. Instead, either father or mother could have a time of devotion with the children early in simple language so they can understand.

Snags to Avoid However, during the explanations of the text for the day or during prayer sessions, we should avoid using the opportunity to castigate any member of the family. This may cause disinterest and resentment. Rebuke and correction should be done in love but at a different time.

We must avoid making it boring by encouraging participation. Activities such as memorising of some verses of Scripture or learning of a new chorus or song can be introduced to make it lively.

Where family devotion is sustained, it helps unsaved members of the family to receive Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour and all saved members to know Him more. Apart from providing spiritual nourishment, it deepens our knowledge of the Scriptures and promotes communication among family members. It also brings a burden and concern for each other as individual needs and problems are mentioned and prayed for. It provides an opportunity to teach the children Christian values and all members of the family their responsibilities to God, the church, the nation and one another.

THE LAW OF REST.

MEMORISE:

“For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” – (Hebrews 4:10)

READ: EXODUS 20:8-11 (KJV)

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

10 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

MESSAGE:

After creation, God rested on the seventh day (Genesis 2:2). How is it that the Almighty, All-powerful God needed to rest? He did not need to rest; He can never be tired. If He had been tired, then He would have been tired at least once in all the thousands of years since the earth was made. Psalm 121:4 says that He never sleeps nor slumbers. Therefore, resting on the seventh day was not for Him but for us; He was establishing a law that we should follow for our own good – the law of rest (Exodus 34:21).

The law of rest is to be applied to your land, animals, and staff. You must not let your staff work for seven days a week; they must have at least one day to rest and be refreshed (Exodus 23:12). This is important for them to be productive the next week. Also, you will get the best out of your farmland if you leave it to rest for one year every seven years (Leviticus 25:4). It is a law that will increase your productivity greatly.

If you think that working for seven days will bring more productivity than working for six days every week, you are wrong. There is a fast-food restaurant in the United States of America that works for only six days and is closed on Sundays. That restaurant is one of the fastest-growing fast-food restaurants in the world. Resting for one day every week greatly improves your productivity as opposed to working for seven days a week.

Working continuously without rest will damage an individual’s health. Many people have died because they did not rest as they ought to. Going against this law can bring great danger to a fellow’s health and life. I was telling one of my sons about this law of rest, and he looked at me in a funny way as if to say, “You? Do you rest?” I told him that I rest, even though he may not know it. I wouldn’t be this productive if I don’t rest. In fact, there are periods in the year when I don’t go anywhere; I just stay in a quiet place to rest. My body will no longer be useful to God if I damage it just because I am so zealous about the ministry that I disregard the law of rest.

KEY POINT:

Work hard, but make sure you take out time to rest so you do not wear out your body.
