Your name is a confession

Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee (Genesis 17:5).

All over the world, people bear names that represent different things, some names represent personalities, landmarks or events, and they’re handed down from one generation to another. Many times, Christians have found themselves bearing names that contradict what they believe. Those names were handed to them by their forbears, and not many ever bothered to find out the meaning of those names to be sure they’re consistent with who we are today in Christ Jesus.

It’s no use answering the name that contradict what you believe about the Gospel and who you are in Christ Jesus, for it can work against you. The name you answer is a major confession in your life. As you answer that name you’re continually confessing the meaning of that name. if you study the Bible, you’ll notice how God changed the names of several people. Before their names were changed, they lived the life of the name they bore. When God changed their names, their destinies also changed.

Abraham, for example, which means father of many, used to be called Abram, meaning “exalted or assumed father” (Genesis 17:5). He and his wife were without a child until their names changed to Abraham and Sarah. Isaac’s son Jacob is another example. His name meant “one that takes by heel; deceiver”. In today’s rendition, that would mean, “swindler, fast guy, or scammer.” Of course, he grew up to answer his name; he deceived his father, cheated his brother, and remained a cheat until God met him and changed his name (Genesis 32:27-28).

To answer a name means that you agree to, confess and endorse the meaning and import of that name in your life. That’s why you ought to answer only names that are consistent with God’s purpose for you; names that glorify God’s Word and are consistent with your identity and position as a new creation in Christ Jesus.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me a new name according to your divine plan for me. I’m a success, a victor, and more than a conqueror; I’m not just the effulgence of the glory of God, my name is “The Glory of God!” prosperity, divine health, joy and peace are mine, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Follow the Directions

by Pastor Andre Butler

Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and

cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when

thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that

take, and give unto them for me and thee

Mathew 17:27

Look at this example of how God is able to provide with abundance, even

for paying tax. Jesus told Peter to take a hook, throw it in the

water, take the first fish that took the hook, open his mouth, and find

four days wages.

Notice two things. First, God gave this fish specific directions. The

fish had to go down to the bottom of the sea, eat the gold coin, swim

over to the shore, and wait. When the hook came, he had to jump on it.

Secondly, Peter had to be obedient to God’s specific instructions.

When you start worrying about how and what’s going to happen, you take

your focus off God and start looking for the person you think God’s

going to use. Forget the how—just know Who! God is more than able to

give you what you need and more. He is able to make you rich!

At the end of every trial – lies the blessing of God

The Lord Wept

At the end of every trial – lies the blessing of God.

James 1:12 “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”

When temptations, trials and tribulations come into your life you need to be resolute, standing firm, knowing that at the end of every trial lies the blessing of God and the manifestation of His promises over your life.

God will use what you put at His disposal to allow things to come into your life

God will use what you put at His disposal to allow things to come into your life

God will use what you have at His disposal.

Proverbs 6:6-11 “Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise,

7 Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler,

8 Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest.

9 How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep?

10 A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep—

11 So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.”

While God has promised to supply all your need according to His riches in glory, you need to realize that you still have a part to play. God will use what you put at His disposal to allow things to come into your life. As an example, He will use your business to channel finances into your life. He will use your faith, mixed with action to bring blessings and provision into your life.

Be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Filled with the Holy Spirit

Ephesians 5:18, NIV

God has clearly commanded you and me to “be filled with the Spirit.” But an unconfessed sin or resistance to His authority will block the “flow” of His life within us. If we do not deal with it, our spiritual lives become stagnant and we lose our attractiveness and usefulness to God. And we have nothing refreshing about us that would draw other people to Christ.

What is hindering you from being filled with the Holy Spirit? To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to be under His moment-by-moment control. He has not been given to you so that you can keep Him confined to a particular area in your life. Let Him loose! He is Lord! The amount of power you experience to live a victorious, triumphant Christian life is directly proportional to the freedom you give the Spirit to be Lord of your life!

Acts 2:2-4, NKJV

On The Wings Of Faith

I understand that a turkey and an eagle react differently to the threat of a storm. A turkey reacts by running under the barn, hoping the storm won’t come near. On the other hand, an eagle leaves the security of its nest and spreads its wings to ride the air currents of the approaching storm, knowing they will carry it higher in the sky than it could soar on its own.

Based on your reaction to the storms of life, which are you?

A turkey or an eagle?

It’s natural for me to be a turkey in my emotions, but I have chosen to be an eagle in my spirit. And as I have spread my wings of faith to embrace the “Wind,” placing my trust in Jesus and Jesus alone, I have experienced quiet, “everyday” miracles:

His joy has balanced my pain.

His power has lifted my burden.

His peace has calmed my worries.

So . . . would you spread your wings of faith and soar?!

I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. —Philippians 4:11

I have learned in  whatever state I am, to be content. —Philippians 4:11Now that my   daughter is learning to talk, she has adopted a favorite word: more.   She will say “more” and point to toast with jam. She held out her palm and   said “More!” when my husband gave her some coins for her piggy bank. She even   exclaimed, “More Daddy!” one morning after her father left for work.

Like my little   one, many of us look around and call for “more.” Unfortunately, enough is   never enough. We need the power of Christ to break the cycle so that we can say   with Paul, “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content” (Phil.   4:11).

The phrase “I   have learned” tells me that Paul did not meet every situation with a smile.   Learning contentment required practice. His testimony included ups and downs   ranging from snake bites to soul-saving; false accusations to founding   churches. Yet he claimed that Jesus was the answer to soul-level   satisfaction. He said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens   me” (v.13). Jesus had given him the spiritual muscle to endure lean times and   to avoid the pitfalls of abundance.

If you find   yourself angling for “more, more, more,” remember that contentment comes when   you have “more” of Christ. —Jennifer Benson Schuldt

Fret not for want   of earthly things;
They’ll never satisfy.

To let the Lord supply. —D. De Haan

True contentment is not dependent on anything in this world.

Proverbs 3:9-10 “Honor the LORD with your possessions, And with

the first fruits of all your increase; So your barns will be

filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.”

Honoring God, with your possessions, is one of the most

Important principles to positioning yourself in the blessing of

God. Honor means to place someone in high esteem; to put them

first in your life. God has to come first when it comes to your

finances. In honoring God you will find His blessing poured out

over your life.

Learning to Wait God‘s Way

David was the anointed king of Israel, but before he could enjoy the realization of God’s promises, he had to go through a season of testing and waiting. During this time, he was forced to hide out in caves and literally run for his life. King Saul, who was bent on David’s destruction, continually hunted for him. Perhaps the Lord has given you a promise through His Word. You are ready to see it unfold, but it hasn’t happened yet. Though you have waited, it seems that there is no hope on the horizon. Remember, God’s timing is perfect.

He knows what you need, when you need it. He knows that if we are going to learn how to walk with Him in the daylight or the good times, we must learn first to trust Him in times of darkness.

At some point, each of us has waited for God’s promises to come. David may have wondered when the Lord would open the door to blessing. However, he never allowed his thoughts to turn to doubts. In fact, in Psalm 18:17, 19, he praises God for the victory he knew would be his one day. “(God) delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me … He brought me forth also into a broad (or spacious) place, He rescued me, because He delighted in me.”

When God delivers you from trial and trouble, you can be sure that He will bring you out into a spacious place of joy and delight – one that also will glorify Him and add encouragement to your life. Have you been pushing and shoving in an effort to move God on to the place where you think you should be? If so, stop and be determined to wait on God. The time you spend waiting in darkness will one day be rewarded by the Father of lights (James 1:17).

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Believe in the promises of God

Believe in the promises of God

Biblical faith is not amorphous. We don’t believe in Santa Clause or the Tooth Fairy—they have no substance or reality to them. Faith believes in the character and the promises of a very real God. We demonstrate our faith by acting on His Word.

Have you ever turned on your radio to listen to the traffic reports? We believe these reports because someone is up in a helicopter and can see much more from the air than we can from the ground. They have a different perspective than we have. We demonstrate our trust in their word by taking a different route to our destination.

Doppler radar makes weather patterns visible, enabling scientists to see something that is invisible to the eye. Doppler radar provides a measure of safety, especially at airports where wind shears could make the ride pretty rough for planes about to take off or land. Occasionally, a burst of invisible wind could drive a commercial airliner to the ground like a toy.

In the spiritual realm, we are limited in our perspective. We cannot see what is happening in that realm unless we believe God, who gives us the details. Fire is hot; the sky is blue; water is wet; and God tells the truth.

“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1-2).

SUFFERING IS UNNECESSARY!

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as He said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the World (Hebrews 4:3)

Everything required for your success has already been provided by God. The works were finished from the foundation of the world. Now, when the Bible says the works were finished from the foundation of the world, as in the scripture above, it means you don’t have to struggle in life, for everything concerning your success, health and prosperity has been taken care of. You’ve entered God’s rest; you’re not called to suffer defeat in life.

Everything you need for success and prosperity has been made available: “According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3)

For the Christian, suffering is absolutely unnecessary. If you’d pay attention to God’s Word and make certain to do what He says, you’d live a fulfilled life. Believe and receive this truth today with faith. You’ve been established on the path of success and victory. God did it ever before you came on the scene. He made you a success and ordained your prosperity before you were born. Nothing in this life is too good for you, for you’re the seed of Abraham, called to a life of power, glory and virtue.

Prayer

Dear Lord and Father, I praise You and rejoice at Your Word that has made me realize Your eternal plans of success, prosperity, progress and victory for my life. I’m grateful to know that You’ve already ordained me to a life of victory and triumph, in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

Broken for a blessing

Broken for a blessing

Dear Friend,

Remodelling is a way of transforming and updating a house or place of business in order to make it more appealing, efficient, or useful. Usually, it involves a redesign on the inside of a building, but it can also include the outside of the property.

Those who have been through the process of remodelling know how extensive and upsetting it can be. Even in the best of circumstances, workers will still create dust and chaos. Yet, in order to enjoy something old being made new, you have to go through the process of remodelling. The same is true when you view God‘s plan for your life.

There are times in the life of every believer when he or she will go through a time of remodelling. It is a time when God is updating our life by stripping away old thoughts and habits and replacing them with His truths and principles. Instead of calling it remodelling, we call the process brokenness.

Just like the beginning phases of a construction program, it may be hard to imagine a beautiful outcome – especially when things have been torn apart. Sheetrock is missing, and tools are scattered from one end of your home to the other. However, before we can do the same, we have to be willing to allow God to give us spiritual eyes to see life from His perspective. After all, He is the One who holds the blueprints to our lives. Paul knew that there were many glorious benefits to the times he faced suffering. The greatest was his testimony of faith in Jesus Christ. No matter what befell him, Paul continued to trust in the One who had saved him and was in charge of his life. Have you come to a time of brokenness? If so, let God remodel your life, and you will be amazed at the outcome.

See A Man Diligent In His Work, He Shall Stand Before Kings, He Shall Not Stand Before Mean Men

“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before Kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” (Proverbs 22:29)

An army officer stopped to have his shoes shined by an Indian boy on the street. The boy launched into his task with such enthusiasm and vigour that the man was utterly amazed. He worked diligently until the leather sparkled with a brilliant lustre. The officer asked the boy why he took so much time to polish the shoes; the boy replied

“Last week Jesus came into my heart and now l belong to Him. Every time I shine someone’s shoes, I do the very best I can because I want Him to be pleased with me.”

Diligent people are always willing to work hard and make a very good use of everything their hands find to do, even when it is not always convenient. They work hard not because they want to become famous, rich or admired, but to serve and please God.

They prosper, make profit, enjoy favour, are successful and reap prosperity through hard-work.

Diligence is a vital part of wise living.

Be industrious and try to put care and effort into what you do as this will bring in blessings.

A diligent man will stand before kings.

Chores can be fun if seen as divine opportunities to serve God!

WALKING WITH
GOD

“For what seems to be God’s
foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and what seems to be God’s weakness is
stronger than human strength………….God has chosen the foolish things of the world
to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the World to
put to shame the things which are mighty” (1 Corinthians 1:25; 27)

Walking with
God is not just a duty, it is a calling. We are called to fellowship with God
and for our fellowship to be intimate and rewarding we must be ready to trust
and obey God. Genesis 26 reveals what practical obedience entails.

Isaac went
to the king of Philistine only for God to tell him to ‘stay put’ in the land
where he was. The ironic thing is that there was grave famine in the land.
Isaac chose to obey God and the bible tells us that “The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became
very prosperous”
(Genesis 26:13)

The
resultant effect of what happened to Isaac is the similar experience a believer
will have after abiding by God’s directives.

We must
purpose in our hearts to obey God no matter the situation that confronts us.
Isaac defiled famine, hunger and dearth to obey God and at the end he had a
testimony.

As children
of God we must be ever ready to defy anything so as to obey God.

The key to
our prosperity is obedience to God instructions!

However, we
must be ready to burn the bridge so that we won’t look back.

NOTEBOOK: What have you defied to
obey God?

BE CONSCIOUS
OF WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST JESUS

Jesus said unto him, have I been so
long time with you, and yet have thou not known me, Philip? He that has seen me
has seen the Father….. (John 14:9)

When Jesus
walked the earth, He had the consciousness of a king that distinguished Him
from the crowd. He had no consciousness of lack and He always confidently spoke
words that amazed the religious people of His day.

One day, He
said “the words that I speak unto you,
they are spirit, and they are life.”
Jesus knew His Words weren’t empty; He
was conscious of His divinity and boldly declared it. In John 6:38 He said “for I came down from Heaven, not to do mine
own will, but the will of him that sent me.”
What boldness and audacity! Everyone knew Him
as the son of Joseph the carpenter, yet He declared He came down from heaven.
Only a man who knew who He really was could speak this way. No wonder He had
absolute mastery over the circumstances of this world.

Again, in John 8:12, He said, “I am the light of the world: he that follows
me shall not work in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Can you beat that? He didn’t come talking
about the light, but says, I am the light of the world.” No wonder the soldiers
that were sent to arrest Him one time, after hearing Him speak, concluded “No
man ever spoke like this man.” (John 7:46)

But did you
know Jesus also spoke about you and said “You are the light of the world?”
(Matthew 5:14). Therefore everywhere you go, you ought also to declare with
gusto, ‘I am the light of the world!” be conscious of who you are in Christ
Jesus, be bold to call yourself what God has called you.

Jesus gave
us an example to follow of how to live victoriously on the earth. His
consciousness of who He was controlled everything He said and did. You also can
live as successfully as He did by following this principle. But first you need
to have the Holy Spirit, for He’s the one who brings boldness into your spirit
by making the consciousness of who you are in Christ Jesus real to you.

CONFESSION

I have in me
the consciousness of a victor. I know who I am and I walk in the consciousness
of this reality. I’m the light of the world and the salt of the earth. I walk
in prosperity, peace, and divine health. Nothing can stop my progress for I
have in me the yeast of greatness! Greater is He that is in me than he that is
in the World! Amen!

WE ARE
COMPLETE IN CHRIST JESUS

And ye are
complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power (Colossians
2:10).

We’re living
in the last days, the days of intense pressures and challenges. However, it’s
important you realize that God has given His children divine ability to quell
every machination of the adversary. You’re complete in Christ and superior to
satan. The more you study the Bible, the more you’ll discover that you’re
thoroughly furnished to handle any situation, for you are God’s house (1
Corinthians 3:16), His Living Tabernacle.

Some houses
which are constructed today are customized and well – furnished with the latest
high – tech equipment. Most of their facilities and accessories are fully
automated and activated at the push of buttons. Even if there’s a problem, you
can easily troubleshoot and fix things by simply pushing some other buttons.

You are
God’s customized building; specially designed by Him. Also He has given you
what I call “The push-button life”. This
means that you don’t have to struggle for anything; you’re complete and thoroughly
furnished to advance the course of the kingdom of God.

Everything
you require to live in victory the rest of your life is inside you already.
When there’s a problem, you know what button to press: you can pray in the
Spirit and speak in other tongues, issue commands in the Name of Jesus or sow
seeds to frustrate the plans of the adversary. You’re full of resources to
cause a change in any situation; you’re never out of ideas on what to do. This
is why the Child of God cannot be disadvantaged regardless of the situation.

When problems
come, you can be still, for God has raised a standard against the adversary in
your life (Isaiah 59:19). Christ is in you; hence, you can press the necessary
buttons in you to frustrate his plans. You shouldn’t, therefore, settle for
anything less.

PRAYER

Dear
Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me the victorious life and the
supernatural ability to cause changes in any situation. You have fashioned me
for greatness and furnished me unto good works. Therefore, I ask that you open
my eyes and enlighten my heart in your Word, so that I may comprehend fully
every gift and ability in me, and teach me also to use the same to the glory of

Your Holy Name! Amen!

The Shunammite woman voluntarily gave to Elisha. She gave food, then a
home. God gave her what money cannot buy: A
Child.

God gave him a blank cheque.

God asked him to ask whatsoever he wanted.

He asked for divine treasure of wisdom; God gave him more than he asked
for.

  1. 5.
    DIVINE ATTENTION MARK 12:41-44

Widow’s mite.

God pays attention to giving. When the widow gave all that she had; Jesus
called the disciples to see what the widow did.

God knows our ability.

God Is The
Source Of Our Supply! Amen!

Psalm 23:1

A dear lady
once shared an amazing testimony with me – she had no job or means of income,
thus for several years, she couldn’t pay her mortgage bills. A number of times,
the bank had called her and because she couldn’t pay, she was taken to court.
However, one day during the period, she saw a pastor on TV and started
listening to the message of the gospel. On her first appearance in court, the
manager who came representing the bank told her “lady, don’t cry. It’s going to
be okay!” there and then, all her debts were cancelled! What a Mighty God we
serve!

If you’re
born again, it’s important you understand that God is your Source of Supply.
The government will never make you rich for no government was designed to make
anyone rich. When you recognize the Lord as your Source and Provider you’ll
discover that your financial prosperity has nothing to do with government
policies or the state of the economy in the country where you live. That’s when
you realize that it’s possible to be admitted into school while someone else is
paying your tuition! That’s when you become conscious of the fact that you can
own a car without paying for it, you can live in a house that you didn’t build
or pay for, just as the Bible says: “And
the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister
unto thee….”
(Isaiah 60:10)

When you
recognize the Lord as your Source, you’ll never lack food, shelter or clothing,
rather you’ll have all your needs met, for they that seek the Lord shall not
want any good thing (Psalm 34:10). Even without seeing the physical amount of
money, you’ll never run dry, because God is your Source!

Learn to
believe and trust the Lord to take care of you; He is more than able to give
you much more than you could ever need! He wants you to always have more than
enough, so that besides having all you need for yourself, you can be of help
and a great blessing to others as well.
