The More I Release, The More God Pours Out His Blessings Unto Me

The More I Release, The More God Pours Out His Blessings Unto Me

Proverbs_10-22: The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it

Proverbs_10-22: The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it

“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
Proverbs 19:17 (KJV)

In Luke 10, Jesus told His disciples the story of the Good Samaritan to answer the question: who is my neighbour? According to the story, a man on his way to Jericho fell among thieves and was robbed, stripped, wounded, and left for dead. The Good Samaritan was the one who was sensitive enough to help the man and meet his needs. Beloved, not everything is about money. You can meet a need in several ways. There are many people who have stacks of beautiful clothes, shoes, and accessories in their wardrobes that no one is using. I am not talking about things that don’t have any value. No, I am talking about those things that are of high value. One way to share the goodness of God in your life is to be a source of blessing to someone else.

Have you ever thought of packaging some high-quality things and sending them to the needy through various initiatives to assist the less privileged? For example, in TREM (The Redeemed Evangelical Mission), we have the “We Care Ministry”. I am sure that every local assembly has something similar. God’s intention is for you to be a very profitable channel in order to bless humanity. The more you release, the more He pours out unto you. Therefore, always see yourself as a channel of blessing. Don’t ever say you don’t have enough because every person has something to give. Go out of your way and give of your substance whenever the call for support is made. Always remember that whenever you give towards putting food on someone else’s table, or clothing on someone else’s back, you are actually lending to the Lord. Let me assure you that you will never give to make life better for others and go away empty handed. God is obligated to replenish your storehouse when you give to the poor.

There is someone out there who is praying that God will meet a need in his life. And guess what? You may just be the answer to that prayer. I encourage you to go out of your way to find areas where you can be of assistance to others.

Don’t let this month end without you consciously being a blessing-not to someone who can repay, but to those who may never even say thank you. Show kindness by being a channel of blessing to others around you.

God’s Blessing Is Never Earned, Deserved, Or Merited

God’s Blessing Is Never Earned, Deserved, Or Merited

Proverbs_10-22: The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it

Proverbs_10-22: The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it

“So then they which be of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham.”

Galatians 3:9 (KJV)

As long as you are struggling to earn, deserve, or merit the blessing of God, you will wait for the blessing for a very long time. God’s blessing is never earned, deserved, or merited. Blessings are received by grace. This is a fact I have been hammering home and I will not stop until every single believer gets it. You cannot earn God’s blessing; you simply receive it.

According to our text, if you accept that you are justified or made righteous by faith and not by your deeds you are blessed with faithful Abraham. In Romans 4:6, Abraham believed in God (and did not do right), and he was accounted for righteousness. Romans 4:5-6 says, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works” (KJV). So all you need to do is believe that the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus have made you righteous. And because of it you are in the company of the blessed and cannot be cursed.

When you realise that you are blessed by faith and not by works, life will stop being a struggle. You will go through life with clear knowledge of the fact that God is for you. You will walk with your shoulders high, and nothing will intimidate you. Then you will reign over the affairs of life here and now.

Don’t let the devil make you cower or deceive you in to thinking that God’s blessing is for everyone except you. There is no exception to the message of grace. Only the person who has refused to accept Jesus as the Lord and Saviour will be left out. The blood washes the worst sinner and the cleanest sinner. Did you read that carefully? I didn’t say the “cleanest saint”, but the “cleanest sinner”. Do you know why I wrote this? It is because all have sinned. So no matter how piously you try to live your life, you cannot enjoy the fullness that Jesus has made available to man unless you have already accepted Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. You can only be blessed by faith, so enjoy this new status today (2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 5:17).

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work”. 2 Corinthians 9:8 (KJV)

Beloved, the word of God is God’s personal writing to you. Yes, it was first written to men of old, but every word there is relevant to us today. Don’t let the devil deceive you into excluding yourself. I can imagine someone reading this today and saying, “I don’t know what to believe anymore! I have tried all I know how to do, yet nothing seems to be working.” If this describes you, I am glad you are reading this devotional today, because God is set to turn your story around.

When God gave us this theme, He already knew what you had been through. He knows your past and present and nothing is hid before Him. Yet He says that this is your Year of all Sufficiency. Don’t entertain one iota of doubt in your heart. Like Mary, simply receive and say to God, “be it unto me according to your word.”

Look at today’s verse again. I need you to get genuinely excited about the word of God to you this year. Remember, God does not crack jokes, He says what He means and means what He says. This year, you will have sufficiency in all things. Whether it is in finances, the fruit of the womb, a job, an examination, marriage, etc.-whatever area of life, I declare that this is your year. Guess what? You will not just have sufficiency; you will abound unto all good work. What does this mean? It means that no matter what you are called for, you will have the resources to meet it in Jesus name. He did it for Abraham; He will do it for you. Abraham was not just blessed; nations were blessed through Him. You will not just be blessed; you will be a blessing in Jesus name.

Message

One thing that robs many people of peace is the uncertainty of the future. If you are living in right standing with God, your future is guaranteed not by man or by the economy of your nation, but by God. Hence, Isaiah 3:10 says:
“Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.”
Are you saved, sanctified and living a life that pleases God daily? If you are, then you have no reason to be worried about your tomorrow. Your future is secured in Christ. This is the reason why Jesus charged His own not to worry over what to eat, drink or wear (Matthew 6:25-34). With this assurance, Apostle Paul also in Philippians 4:6 said:
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Are you afraid of what your future will bring? Fear not! Your tomorrow will be great. If you are truly in Christ and you are not toying with sin, your tomorrow shall be far greater than your today! Your end shall be glorious.

Psalms_1-3: And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper

Psalms_1-3: And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper

Another reason why the righteous have peace is the assurance that they will prosper. Our Heavenly Father in Isaiah 1:19 promised that:
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:”
If you are holy, your portion of divine blessings is reserved for you. Part of the wealth of this world has been reserved by God just for you. Nobody can take your portion from you. When you know this, you will not be moved or be afraid, no matter what you go through. No wonder today’s Bible reading says that while God was sharing land to His children, a good portion, very fertile and fruitful, was allotted to you.

Proverbs_10-22: The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it

Proverbs_10-22: The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it

It also assures you that God is the One who secures your blessing so that no one can steal it from you. As you live in righteousness before Him, simply put your trust in Him. Ask Him to lead you to your reserved land. Nothing will take your reserved portion of blessings away from you. Simply please God by regularly worshipping and thanking Him; win souls and support the expansion of His kingdom on earth. As you do these, He will surely lead you into the portion of divine inheritance reserved for you.

Action Point

Thank God for reserving a blessing for you in His safe haven.

Blessing does not only attract rejoicing it attracts hatred, for you are a terror to Satan’s kingdom

Blessing does not only attract rejoicing it attracts hatred, for you are a terror to Satan’s kingdom

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge . . .”

Hosea 4:6

2-Corinthians_2-14: Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place

2-Corinthians_2-14: Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place

Beloved, as a child of God you have to know this God for yourself because revelation will place you above your enemies. Job said to his detractors I know what you know you are not superior to me (Job 13:2). That means that when your enemy knows more than you do, he becomes superior to you. Before you throw your jab I already know where it will land because I know what you know, says Job.

This reminds me of David. David said to Goliath I will kill you and give you as an offering to my God and Goliath came down. And you would have thought that the whole of Israel will erupt in celebration of David but his trouble started as a result of his victory. Blessing does not only attract rejoicing it attracts hatred. If you don’t know how to manoeuvre yourself, when the enemy comes you will make a mess of yourself. Trouble started for David and before you knew it he became a fugitive running from one place to the other. When you should be testifying over what God has done in your life, now you begin to hide. When those who ought to celebrate you are those who are plotting against you. What do you do?

Psalms_25-2: O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me

Psalms_25-2: O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me

Despite all these God was in the heavens watching as though it was David’s initiative. It was God who initiated his anointing and he never did anything wrong. What did I do wrong? David must have asked himself, just as you may be asking yourself now. The reason is because of where you are going. You are going somewhere. You are not a toddler, you have been marked as a terror to Satan’s kingdom.

Romans_10-13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved

Romans_10-13: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved

The Bible says Saul was pursuing David from cave to cave. The king left his throne and was pursuing a small boy. This year, I beg you don’t pursue the mundane because you are carrying something big. Some of us pursue small things but Christ died so we could have something bigger. Don’t let your job or your business keep you away from God. He is the only one that can deliver you. If you are looking for an excuse the devil will ensure he packages one and delivers to you just so he could isolate and kill you. You will live and not die in Jesus name, Amen!

Memorise:

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Matthew 7:8

Read: Luke 1:5-14

5  There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

6  And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

7  And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

8  And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of his course,

9  According to the custom of the priest’s office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

10  And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

11  And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

12  And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

13  But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

14  And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

Message

One great lesson from Jacob’s Peniel experience, documented in Genesis 32:24-32, is that prayer provokes blessings. A key part of this experience in Genesis 32:28-29 thus read:

“And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.”

After changing Jacob’s name to Israel, the Lord further blessed him. This tells us that having a new name is desirable, but securing a blessing that will empower the new name to achieve its prophetic meaning in the life of its recipient is even more preferable. Some people who once had negative names have changed them; this is good but don’t stop there. Ask that God will bless your new identity, so that your new name will speedily work for you and finally take you to your place of destiny.

Similarly, you will notice that a blessing was pronounced on Israel in the place of prayer, not at some other place. Blessings are attracted to you while you are praying. The blessings that manifest after your moments of concerted prayers were first delivered to you in the place of prayer. In Acts 12:1-17, it was while the children of God were taking turns to pray that freedom was delivered to Peter who had been incarcerated by the authorities. In addition, the gift of a baby boy, in the person of John the Baptist, was delivered to Zacharias while he and the people were praying in the temple. This gift manifested nine months later (Luke 1:65-66).

Effective prayer is like a collection basket for blessings. If you can pray, you will have a place where your required blessings will be dropped for you, but if you cannot pray, you can be certain that even when God decides to give you a particular blessing out of mercy, you will not have a receptacle to receive it. This is one reason why some blessings that are brought to people are returned to Heaven. Effective and sustained praying over an issue tells the heavenly hosts that you are truly prepared to receive what you are asking for. Prayer provides the landing platform for your miracles and blessings. You desire God to bless you; have you prepared the platform on which the answer to your request will be laid?

Key Point:

Prayer is a platform for collection, and only those who engage in it will reap its dividends.
