Like A Child Grows

1 Corinthians 13:11

“When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.”
NLT

As a child, our focus is pretty set on ourselves. When we’re infants, we cry because we want to eat. When we are toddlers, our vocabulary consists mainly of the word ‘mine’. As a school age child, we wrestle with wanting to fit in or be in the right crowd. While as adults we may struggle with some of the same issues, we begin looking outside ourselves and begin noticing the needs of others. As followers of Christ, this is simply a part of life.

Matthew 7:12 “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” NKJV

When we are born again, we come desiring things for ourselves just as we did as a child. We desire salvation and forgiveness of sins and this is good and right. It is at this foundation that we find life and a relationship with God. But just as a child continues to grow, so should we. Having been empowered by God’s Spirit, we begin looking outward, desiring to bless those around us. We rejoice in what God has done for us and then we move outside ourselves desiring to see others know what we know. This is reflected in our relationships, our finances and every other area of life. As we grow in Christ, we begin looking around for every opportunity to minister to others – just like Jesus.

We should all be “growing up” in our faith and becoming less selfish and more caring.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for life and Your love. Thank You for the forgiveness of sins found in Jesus. Fill me with Your Spirit and help me to be open to opportunities to minister to those around me. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Philippians 2 (Christ’s Humility And Greatness)

Holy Bible. New Living Translation

1Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate?
2Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

3Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
4Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

5You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

6Though he was God,
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.

7Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;
he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,

8  he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

9Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honour
and gave him the name above all other names,

10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

12Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.
13For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

14Do everything without complaining and arguing,
15so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.
16Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.
17But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy.
18Yes, you should rejoice, and I will share your joy.

19If the Lord Jesus is willing, I hope to send Timothy to you soon for a visit. Then he can cheer me up by telling me how you are getting along.
20I have no one else like Timothy, who genuinely cares about your welfare.
21All the others care only for themselves and not for what matters to Jesus Christ.
22But you know how Timothy has proved himself. Like a son with his father, he has served with me in preaching the Good News.
23I hope to send him to you just as soon as I find out what is going to happen to me here.
24And I have confidence from the Lord that I myself will come to see you soon.

25Meanwhile, I thought I should send Epaphroditus back to you. He is a true brother, co-worker, and fellow soldier. And he was your messenger to help me in my need.
26I am sending him because he has been longing to see you, and he was very distressed that you heard he was ill.
27And he certainly was ill; in fact, he almost died. But God had mercy on him—and also on me, so that I would not have one sorrow after another.

28So I am all the more anxious to send him back to you, for I know you will be glad to see him, and then I will not be so worried about you.
29Welcome him with Christian love and with great joy, and give him the honour that people like him deserve.
30For he risked his life for the work of Christ, and he was at the point of death while doing for me what you couldn’t do from far away.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit, and according to Romans 10:9 , “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt e saved”, I declare that I am saved; I am born again; I am a child of God! I now have Christ dwelling in me, and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world! I now walk in the consciousness of my new life in Christ Jesus, Amen!

Faithfulness

Faithfulness

Read | Daniel 6:1-28

Daniel had faithfully been living out his commitment to the Lord from the time he was a teenager. His witness of integrity and godliness was earned over a lifetime, during which he’d been challenged frequently to compromise his faith.

Today’s passage shows him facing a desperately dangerous situation: the lions’ den. Although we usually focus on Daniel and the animals, a surprising aspect of this story is the reaction of the king.

Though he’d foolishly signed the law that created Daniel’s treacherous predicament, Darius was so impressed with the young man that he tried to rescue him. When the ruler’s efforts failed, he made a surprising statement of trust in the Lord: “Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you” (v. 16). Now, that’s a witness!

Does your unwavering devotion to Christ lead others to trust your Saviour? Too many Christians have a commitment of convenience. They’ll stay faithful as long as it’s safe and doesn’t involve risk, rejection, or criticism. Instead of standing alone in the face of challenge or temptation, they check to see which way their friends are going. What kind of witness is that? Who will want to follow our God if we ourselves won’t follow Him? Our response either draws others to Jesus or pushes them away.

If you desire to be like Daniel, practice your commitment to Christ, both privately and publicly. The time you spend alone with God will transform your character and increase your devotion. Then your integrity and godly behaviour in an unbelieving world will make others long to know the Lord.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

But Now! God is waiting to hear from you!

But Now! God is waiting to hear from you!

Isaiah 59:2 says: “Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.

When you lived under sin, God’s ears were deaf to your cries, as this scripture clearly tells you. John 9:31 says: “Now we know that God does not hear sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and does His will, him He hears.”

I want to encourage you to remember that before you came to Christ, your sins and iniquities caused the heavens to be brass, but now Heaven is open for you. The Bible tells us that God sent forth His Son, and that Jesus was made to be sin for you when He knew no sin, so that you could be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Your sins once separated you from God and caused His ears to be closed, but now because of Jesus Christ, the heavens are open, and God’s ears are open to your prayers. Think about that.
God is waiting to hear from you!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

What do you do “When Life Stinks”?

Corrie Milne 2008-01-01 (2)
What do you do “When Life Stinks“?

At some point in time, everyone experiences a huge let down. No one is exempt! Something doesn’t go our way or someone doesn’t come through as anticipated. And, sometimes that someone is God! Pretending that life is nothing but sunshine once you give your life to Christ would be just that…pretending!

Learning, how to handle our disappointment, even disappointment with God, is essential in our faith journey.

Corrie ten Boom said it best, when we go through the darkest of tunnels, “that’s the most important time to stay on the train and trust the Conductor-GOD!.”

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Jesus Christ Is Standing At the Door Of Our Hearts

Jesus Christ Is Standing At the Door Of Our Hearts

It is humbling to imagine that even in His heavenly glory, Christ knocks on the doors of our hearts, asking to come in. If we open that door, we will stand before Him. What a glorious moment. There is an old song that speaks of the comfort we find when we stand before God and with God.

When I stand with God, no raging storm shall ever shake me
When I stand with Him, the cares of life can never break me
For when I’m crying He dries my tears
When I’m frightened He hides my fears
All my sorrows disappear
When I stand with Him.

We have the assurance that in the storms of life, Jesus Himself will be standing with us. He is waiting to share our sorrows and to renew our courage.

Billy Graham (Excerpted from Storm Warning)

The Blood of Jesus Christ

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

The Blood of Jesus Christ

How much more . . . will the blood of Christ . . . cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death.

Hebrews 9:14, NIV

Do you know people who arrogantly insist that if their good works outweigh their bad works, God is somehow obligated to accept them? As you look around, what “fruit” do you see others bringing to the place of sacrifice instead of humbly approaching God through the blood of His Son? The “fruit” of

religious activity,

good works,

morality,

or philanthropy?

Many people do not want to come to the place of sacrifice, the Cross of Jesus Christ, because it intensifies the conviction of their own sin and judgment and is a reminder that heaven’s gate is closed to sinners. God warns that “a man is not justified by observing the law,” (Gal. 2:16, NIV) because “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” of sin (Heb. 9:22, NIV). So humble yourself, come to the Cross, and thank God for the blood of Jesus that is sufficient to forgive any and all sin

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Count your blessings, name them one by one (Hymn)

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,

when you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,

Count your many blessings, name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Count your blessings, name them one by one

Count your blessings, see what God hath done!

Count your blessings, name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?

Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?

Count your many blessing, every doubt will fly,

And you will keep singing as the days go by.

When you look at others with their lands and gold,

Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;

Count your many blessing. Wealth can never buy

Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,

Do not be disheartened, God is over all;

Count your many blessings, angels will attend,

Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Like Jesus

LIKE JESUS

Esther 1-3

Memorize:Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 1 John 3:7

Read: 1 John 3:1-10

The call to salvation is a call to holiness. After you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour, it does not end there; the journey to Heaven has only just begun. Before you were saved, you manifested the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21).

But now that you have encountered Jesus Christ at salvation, the fruit of the Spirit is expected from you (Galatians 5:22-23). Every attempt at righteousness before your salvation was equal to self-righteousness which is as filthy rags to God (Isaiah 64:6); hence, Paul says his self-righteousness no longer counts but the righteousness by faith in Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:9).

God has not only saved us and given us the gift of righteousness, He also expects us to live a life in agreement with His standard. Today, some people think that it is just enough to be born again and that nothing else is required.

No! It is not enough! The truth is your new birth gives you the platform on which to build on, having secured God’s righteousness through your faith in Christ Jesus. We are called to be like our Saviour Jesus Christ. In 1 John 2:1, Jesus is called the righteous, and verse 29 says: If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

This means that the fruit of righteousness that you bear will be used to determine whether you are born of God or not. 1 John 3:7 says: Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. God is not saying you should be holier than Jesus. Even Jesus says it is enough for a servant to be like his master (Luke 6:40).

If God expected works of righteousness from Jesus, He expects the same from you. If you look at the letters the Lord wrote to the churches in Revelation 2 and 3, you will notice that He kept repeating that those who will qualify for those wonderful rewards are only the believers who overcome as He also overcame.

In every point Jesus overcame, you too should, because He is our standard. Every act of righteousness He manifested, you too should. You must live a life that manifests the victory Christ has given you over the flesh, Satan and the world. You must allow Him to live His righteous life through you. Are you daily living a life of righteousness?

KEY POINT: Jesus is God’s unchangeable standard for man. Be like Him in everything including righteous living.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Good Spiritual Food

Good Spiritual Food

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 says

“And my teaching and message were not delivered with skilful words of human wisdom, but with convincing proof of the power of God’s Spirit. Your faith, then, does not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power”

The Gospel message is full of the love, grace and power of God.
1 Peter 1:8-9 says, “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”

Today’s preaching often ignores sin and its consequences. We still need the food of the Spirit, not secular humanism and denial of the existence of God. If you are what you eat, make sure you receive good spiritual food. 1 Corinthians 10:3-4 says, “They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.”

Some “new” thinkers tell us that God is outmoded and irrelevant in today’s highly industrial and scientific world.

It is time now to bring back the salvation message to the Body of Christ. God will never be “out of date.” In these last days, God is calling us to harvest souls for Him. Revival starts within the faithful hearts of individuals who seek Him.

Fight the good fight of faith

Česky: Kříže - symbol utrpení Ježíše Krista a ...

Fight the good fight of faith

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12)

Throughout the New Testament Scriptures, the only fight we’re told to fight is the good fight of faith; and the Bible clearly states that it’s a good fight. This means it’s a worthy fight to be fought; more so, we’re on the winning side.

The flesh, the world and its systems, the devil and his cohorts have all been overcome for us by our LORD Jesus Christ. Now the only thing left for you to do is to appropriate all that Christ has accomplished on your behalf. This means that you see what He has given you and hold on to them in spite of everything that your physical senses can otherwise perceive. This is the fight of faith. It is the fight you face when you stand on God’s Word and refuse to observe anything contrary.

Let me explain further with this illustration: someone has been healed through the power of the Word of God, but somehow, he begins to feel some familiar symptoms in his body. Then the devil begins to taunt him saying “Are you really sure you’re healed? If you were healed, why are you feeling those pains? You’re still sick; why don’t you just admit it and stop deceiving yourself.”

Thoughts like this are missiles the devil fires at your mind, and Paul says in Ephesians 6:16 that you quench them with the shield of faith. This is where the fight of faith comes in, and God expects you to fight it because it’s a good fight. He has assured you of the victory!

If the symptoms ever come back, all you have to do is say, “I was healed in the Name of Jesus Christ and I remain healed!”  (1 Peter 2:24). When you talk like that, you wouldn’t be testifying to your feelings but to the Word of God. The Bible says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). Resist the devil with your faith-filled words and he will necessarily flee. That’s your victory in the fight of faith!

Confession:

I walk by faith and not by what I see, feel, or hear. I cannot be discouraged or defeated, because the Holy Spirit in me is greater than the devil in the world. I am born of God and I have overcome the world and its evil system by my faith. Therefore, I take hold of my health, peace, prosperity, success, and everything that’s mine in Christ Jesus, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Christ is made unto us wisdom

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Christ is made unto us wisdom

But of Him (God) are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30)

The Bible says Christ Jesus is made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.

Wisdom!

“Christ is made unto us wisdom” means that Christ has become our wisdom. Therefore, we do not function with human wisdom but with an excellent wisdom. You see, a lot of Christians were never taught how to take advantage of that which Christ has made available to them. When you learn to take advantage of this excellent wisdom, you’ll always know the right thing to do.

The Bible says, “A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back” (Proverbs 26:3). The type of rod this scripture is referring to isn’t like the whip used on a horse; it’s referring to the whip of life. Many are whipped by different circumstances in life and suffer because of ignorance. They make terrible mistakes in their lives because they haven’t learnt how to take advantage of the wisdom of God. The more you put God’s Word into your spirit, the more you dig into that wisdom and avail yourself of its privileges and advantages; you’ll begin to function in it at home, in your academics, on your job, in your business, and in your finances.

A life that is void of the wisdom of God will be full of afflictions and sufferings. But when you begin to function with it, you’ll walk out of every affliction. God knows every wrong step you could take and He would guide your steps from making any of them through this wisdom. So you see, you don’t have to make the blunders anymore; you can be more certain of your choices in life. Avail yourself of that wisdom today and walk through life victoriously!

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father! I thank You for anointing me with the wisdom of Christ, for as many as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Teach me to apply my heart to this wisdom and also to submit to its authority in my life, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32)

Detail - Glory of the New Born Christ in prese...

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32)

The Word of God liberates men from the bondage of sin, condemnation, sickness, poverty, discouragement and failure; it is the liberating truth. However, you can only walk in the liberty that you know. You see, that a slave was set free doesn’t mean he’ll enjoy his liberty. This is because liberation begins from the mind; there must be a change in his way of thinking to have any lasting change in his lifestyle. In the same vein, though man was liberated legally from the shackles of satan more than two thousand years ago, he may not enjoy his liberty vitally until he accepts, understands and endorses the legal document that guarantees his freedom; that document is The Word of God!

It’s my pleasure to announce to you today that condemnation, sin, every form of sickness, poverty, failure, discouragement and death are no longer alive in you. Sin and death have no hold on you anymore, for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made you free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2). The Bible says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1), so lose yourself from the bondage of condemnation. You have been liberated from sickness, for by the stripes of Christ, you were healed (1 Peter 2:24). You are no longer “The poor trying to be rich,” because the Bible says, “For ye know the grace of our LORD Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9)

Jesus Christ suffered, died and resurrected to give you life. There are no chains binding you anymore, for you’re born free in Christ, so get the truth and make yourself free; get to know the purpose of His suffering, death and resurrection! Always remember that “Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped” (Psalm 124:7).

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, You have brought me into Your Kingdom of free men through Your Son Jesus Christ and by the power of Your Holy Spirit. I refuse to be entangled again with any yoke of bondage. Therefore, I ask that You open my eyes to Your Word and strengthen my faith thereby, so I may stand fast in the liberty that we have in Christ Jesus, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…….” (Act 1:8)

The Holy Spirit Is The Power Giver!

The Holy Spirit is the power of God. If you have received Him into your life, then you’ve received power; He is the power-giver. He gives you the inherent, dynamic ability to cause changes. He gives you the divine enablement to accomplish any task and change any hopeless situation. Happy are you if you’ve received the Holy Spirit into your life! It means you can never be disadvantaged anymore. It has become impossible for you to be a victim in life.

Here, Jesus Christ lets us know the source of true power, and how we can receive that power into our lives. It is by receiving the Holy Spirit – He is the embodiment of all power. Many people are seeking for power in the wrong places; how sad! There’s no power in the occult or in any of the religions of the world. There’s no power outside of the Holy Spirit. The question is, have you received Him into your life? Have you been born again? If you have, then you don’t need any other power. The power-Giver Himself lives in you. No wonder the apostle Paul said, “I can do all things through Christ……” (Philippians 4:13); he didn’t say, “O God I pray that You’ll give me power to do all things”. The power you need is the Holy Spirit. This is why it’s compulsory for every Christian to receive the Holy Spirit.

If you want the glory of God to be seen in your life and you want to walk in dominion over the devil, sickness, disease, infirmities and death, then you must have the Holy Spirit. When you have Him, you have all the power you’ll ever need to effect changes in your world. No matter the challenges you face in life, tell yourself, “This is bread for me; I have the power to crush every adversity. Nothing is impossible with me; I can change hopeless situations because I’m anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power”

Confession:

Thank You Heavenly Father for anointing me with the Holy Spirit and with power; I recognize that I have the ability to cause the changes I desire because the Holy Spirit in me is the power giver. Therefore, I’m not moved by the things I can see, feel or perceive by my senses because they are all subject to change; the things which are seen are temporal but the unseen things are eternal!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength and the Kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night” (Revelation 12:10)

One of the devil’s key strategies is to keep people in bondage to their past by reminding them of their sins. He’ll haunt you with the thoughts and pictures of your wrongs. He’ll always tell you how useless you are and give you more than enough reasons why you would fail in life.

But you shouldn’t allow the devil give you a bad day through his railing accusations. God’s calling upon your life was clearly stated before the world began; He already determined that you should be a success in life. Remember that one of satan’s title is “the accuser of the brethren”, and he is an expert at it because he’s been at it a long time.

There are Christians today who have lost faith and stopped going to church all because they did something wrong. I wonder if they realized that their solution was in God’s Word; “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

In Romans 6:14, God says, “Sin shall not have dominion over you.” So when you do something wrong, don’t let it have dominion over you. Don’t stay there wishing your world would come to an end. Your sins have been removed from your life, as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12). God has dumped them into the abyss.

If the devil reminds you of your past, you remind him of his future (Revelation 20:10). Refuse to be weighed down by the failures of your past, and begin to declare your glorious future in Christ Jesus. Understand this: God loves you! If He loved you while you were yet a sinner, how much more now that you are His child (Romans 5:8).

Confession:

I have been delivered from the bondage of sin, hence, it cannot dominate me. My heart is established upon the Word of God; therefore, I’m not moved by the devil’s schemes and accusations.

Let your dream in life be for people to see Jesus Christ in you

Stained glass at St John the Baptist's Anglica...

Let your dream in life be for people to see Jesus Christ in you.

Read:  1 Timothy 3:15

Jesus is The Word, The Truth Of God, made flesh. The Bible describes Him as the reflection of God’s glory and the exact likeness of His being (Hebrews 1:3). In other words, when He walk the streets of Jerusalem, He was the perfect representation of God’s personality. The truth is still moving upon the face of the earth today through you and I.

The Bible described the Church of Jesus Christ as the pillar and ground of truth (1 Timothy 3:15). We’re the expression or representation of truth for we’re the temples of the living God (1 Corinthians 6:19). Therefore, we’re responsible for delivering men and women around the world into their inheritance in Christ Jesus and liberating them from every form of bondage. We were made to teach, preach and reveal the truth.

For example, when you truly understand who you really are in Christ, you’ll never condemn anyone, for the truth will never reject or condemn anyone. You can’t change people by dwelling on their faults; it’s only the truth that changes a man. The truth liberates, heals and imparts life. When you realize you’re the custodian of eternal verities, you’ll never stop preaching the message of salvation to the sinner, for you may be the only “Jesus” he’ll ever come in contact with.

As a Christian, you are the revelation of the truth of God; you carry in you the solution to every need in a man’s life. So, you see, you have a great responsibility to your world. Just as John The Baptist said in John 3:30, “He must increase but I must decrease,” let your dream in life be for people to see Jesus Christ in you. The time is indeed short, therefore, “….make every minute count” (Ephesians 5:16 CEV); the salvation of many depends on you.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for revealing Your Son in and through me to my world. Guide my steps towards those who are in dire need of Your liberating truth; let its light radiate through me to break every yoke off their lives. Let Your Spirit set them afire for Your Kingdom, in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. – Proverbs 28:1

The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
Proverbs 28:1

One of my greatest inspirations of boldness is John the Baptist. He was not someone that the world considered special. He dressed strangely and ate strange food. He didn’t have any special gifting. He preached about God’s kingdom, boldly carrying out what his King had called Him to do. John the Baptist didn’t care what people said or what they thought. It didn’t matter how uncool it was, how undesirable it was, or how bad people hated him. He was even thrown in jail for what he said and later beheaded because of his boldness.

Another one of my Bible heroes is the Apostle Paul who wrote these words in his letter to the Romans: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile (Romans 1:16). But that kind of boldness can’t happen until you know who you are and you know your place in Christ. This world is hurt and it’s dying. We need voices in the wilderness right now. We need voices to step up and start proclaiming the gospel of Christ with the boldness of John the Baptist and the Apostle Paul did.

Stay strong. If your family, friends and associates hate you for your beliefs, it doesn’t matter. Persecution will come. Just rely on Christ. Have peace knowing that he’s with you. Christ is a hundred percent more important than your family, friends and neighbours. He’s the only reason we live.

The righteousness which is by faith

Blessed Are They Who Hunger And Thirst For Rig...

The righteousness which is by faith

“………Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness” (Romans 4:3)

The righteousness of the Law of Moses was based on works. However, the righteousness which is by the faith of Jesus Christ was credited to your account when you were born again; this righteousness excludes works. In other words, it’s not based on the works of the Law or your good actions. It’s not based on how good and nice you’ve been, but on faith. It has nothing to do with what you did and what you didn’t do, for it’s the result of what Christ has done.

Sadly, some Christians are still trying to be righteous, holy, and pleasing to God! They are struggling to be what they already are. They’re trying to possess what God already said belongs to them. The Bible says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our LORD Jesus Christ(Romans 5:1). That means you’re already righteous, hence, you don’t need to struggle to be righteous.

There are people who believe that their good works will answer for them in life. They think they rank highly with God because they don’t do anything wrong. The righteousness which is by faith doesn’t rely on your good works but on your faith in the God that justifies the ungodly (Romans 4:5). I’m talking about the One that saved Rahad, the prostitute. All Rahad did was to believe in the God that justifies the ungodly and embrace the righteousness of God.

You may be reading this blog and you’ve committed many sins in your life. You’ve lied, cheated, done a lot of terrible things, and made a lot of mistakes. Well, you don’t need to cry, feel condemned, or keep brooding over all the wrong things you’ve done! We have a God that justifies the ungodly. Just believe in Him! Believe in the cleansing power of blood of Jesus Christ; that blood is still effective today.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father! My heart is anchored on Your Word and I refuse to yield to the distractions of the enemy. Help me to keep my focus and confidence rooted in the cleansing power of the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and not in my good works, in Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!
