Psalms_23-4-1: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Then he began to call down curses on himself and he swore to them, ‘I don’t know the man!’ Immediately a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: ‘Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.’ And he went outside and wept bitterly.
1-Peter_5-8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour
Ever since the fall of man, the devil has been actively working to sow doubt and denial in the body of Christ.
The devil succeeded in his evil work in the Garden of Eden, tempting Adam and Eve and causing sin to enter the world: “Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, ‘Did God really say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden”?'” (Genesis 3:1)
Satan succeeded again with Peter on the night of Jesus’ betrayal-in Matthew 26:69-75, Peter disowned Jesus.
If it could happen to Peter, one of Jesus’ faithful disciples, it could happen to anyone.
The devil will try to instill fear and doubt in whatever way he can. If he can get you to doubt the power and presence of Christ, he has succeeded in his evil work.
Do not give the devil the opportunity to sow these seeds. Rebuke him in the name of Jesus!
