Ecclesiastes 6. Wealth is not the goal of life. God.

(Show chapter frame)

1 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is common among men: 2 A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease. 3 If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that the days of his years be many, and his soul be not filled with good, and also that he have no burial; I say, that an untimely birth is better than he. 4 For he cometh in with vanity, and departeth in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness. 5 Moreover he hath not seen the sun, nor known any thing: this hath more rest than the other. 6 Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?

7 All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled. 8 For what hath the wise more than the fool? what hath the poor, that knoweth to walk before the living? 9 Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit. 10 That which hath been is named already, and it is known that it is man: neither may he contend with him that is mightier than he.

11 Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better? 12 For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

May God bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May God make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

May the grace the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen!

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up

Benefits of good friendship.

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour. —Ecclesiastes 4:9

Cicero was one of the greatest thinkers of the Roman Empire. He was a skilled orator, lawyer, politician, linguist, and writer. Still today he is quoted for his clear prose and practical wisdom.

For instance, of having friends he wrote: “Friendship improves happiness and abates misery, by the doubling of our joy and the dividing of our grief.” He understood the double benefits of friendship along life’s journey.

Nearly a millennium earlier, King Solomon had written about the value of friends as well. In Ecclesiastes we read, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up” (4:9-10). Certainly a life without friends makes our sojourn lonely and hard to bear.

That famous Roman and that Jewish king were right: Friends are important. Friends serve as confidants, counsellors, and burden-sharers.

Think about your friends. Have you been neglecting those God has provided to share your joys and sorrows? If so, seek out one of your friends for fellowship this week. Remember, “two are better than one,” because a friend can double our joy and divide our grief. —Dennis Fisher

A friend is “trust,” a friend is “warmth,”
A friend is “always there”
To add to every happiness,
To lessen every care. —Anon.

Friends are flowers in the garden of life.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Knowing the truth about debt is the first step towards financial freedom

A good person leaves an inheritance   for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the   righteous (Proverbs 13:22).

Financially speaking, there are three kinds of people: the haves, the   have-nots, and those who have not paid for what they have! Debt has become a   way of life in the American landscape. The average American household spends   at least 20 percent of their net income on consumer debt. We must understand   that when debt rules, debt ruins. Proverbs 22:7 says: “The borrower becomes   the lender’s slave.” Debt controls your life, so it puts you in a kind of   slavery. There are several reasons for debt: ignorance, indulgence, poor   planning, and emergencies. All these things can contribute to the snowball of   debt.

But I believe that God provides a way for us to live without being   controlled by our debt. Debt is owing something you cannot pay, and that kind   of debt should be abnormal for the Christian because it is outside God’s   will. Debt is first and foremost a spiritual issue—we are in debt because we   have refused to obey God.

Psalm 37:21 says:“The wicked borrows and does not pay back.”   Ecclesiastes 5:5 says: “It is better that you should not vow than that you   should vow and not pay.”But also: “The Lord will open for you His good   storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless   all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall   not borrow” (Deuteronomy 28:12).

We can be set free from the tyranny of debt, and there are four steps   that can help us: plant, plan, prioritize, and pray.

Knowing the truth about debt is the first step toward financial   freedom.

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and   defend us from all their enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

We are Created For God’s Worship

“Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.” Psalm 100:2

God is hooked up so much on worship; He had to create mankind solely for that purpose – to supply Him worship. We are created for God’s worship – Period!

We are created to give Him pleasure, to give Him glory. The reason you are alive is to supply God true heartfelt spiritual worship.

Now, I’m not talking about singing songs either fast or slow; for that is just an expression of your worship attitude. It’s just an expression of the real thing.

The real thing is this – living your life, and ordering your conversation aright, solely to do God’s Will and bringing Him honour and pleasure. Going about your business strictly in a way that brings God pleasure; Loving your spouse and fulfilling your marital vows and duties to him or her in such a wonderful way that glorifies God, honours God and gives God pleasure; raising your children up in the fear of the Lord to gain His stamp of approval alone; playing to glorify God; reading; walking; talking; giving; serving others; in a nutshell – Doing everything you do deliberately to honour God. That’s a lifestyle of worship. That’s what we were created for.

The beauty of God’s plan is that as our lives give Him pleasure we also discover fulfilment that money, pleasure, fame nor power cannot give.

Whatever you do today; ask yourself “Am I doing it for God’s pleasure?”

He makes all things beautiful in His time! (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
