Faith over Sight

Faith over Sight

When I first gave my life to Christ, God was spoiling me with His presence. It was normal for me to sing and people will fall under the anointing—their chair must break and it was a very normal thing for me. Like, once I start singing, people are falling down. It was that normal for me.

After like six months, all those experiences stopped.

So I went to redemption camp to seek God to know what’s happening. I will just be crying and praying ‘‘God cast me not from thy presence; take not thy Holy Spirit from me.” I was so disturbed because I went to first program and nobody fell under the power. Second, third and so on, yet nobody fell.

I did three days dry fast at redemption camp. After the fasting and prayers, I went to another program with the mindset “Since I’ve cried, fasted and prayed, people will fall under the anointing this time” and to my surprise, NOBODY FELL!

The Holy Spirit now had to teach me that in this kingdom, we walk by faith and not by sight. He said “You must learn to know that I’m not a feeling” and that was how I was able to break out of that, because I was already thinking that God had left me.

So I’m saying this to encourage someone. Just incase you find yourself in a similar situation, where you pray and fast and not feel God, God hasn’t ran away from you. He’s there. It’s your time and season of testing and you know, teachers don’t talk when you’re writing exams. Don’t fail the exams thinking that God has left you.

If you’re not feeling God despite all your spiritual activities, it means you’re writing a test. Don’t fail.

Make sure you stay on that cross. Don’t come down and say “God is not here, I’m out!”

If you don’t die in that place, you will not experience the power of Resurrection.

Thank You Jesus,

Salvation Prayer

If you don’t Know Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour and would like to accept him into your life as your personal Lord and Saviour, Please say this prayer:

Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from You. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward You. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that Your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your Will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

God Will Provide

Proverbs_16-3-1: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established
Proverbs_16-3-1: Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established

“And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.” (Matthew 14:19)

The story of how Jesus fed the 5,000 is one that we have been hearing since we were children in Sunday School. However, reading it as an adult has opened my eyes to things I hadn’t seen before.

Jesus was actually grieving the death of his cousin, John the Baptist, when this event happened. Jesus withdrew himself from the crowd, like many of us would do, and went to a solitary place privately. After all that had taken place, I am sure he had a lot on His mind and needed time to process it all. However, as soon as the crowds heard of this, they went walking all the way to where Jesus was.

Jesus could have very well asked them to leave or come back another day, but the Bible says that “he had compassion on them and healed their sick”. He put his own feelings aside and tended to the work God had set before him. Since the place Jesus had gone to was away from the town, the disciples encouraged him to send the people away, as it was getting late, and people were going to be hungry. Instead, Jesus chose to feed them right then and there. As we all know, there were only five loaves of bread and two fish, but Jesus never doubted that His Father would provide what was needed. He gave thanks for the food, trusting that it was already enough. In fact, there was actually food left over after all had eaten!

Friends, God will always meet our needs. We may not see it yet, but He will do it. Many times our faith is what lacks! We struggle to believe what we don’t see, so unless the provision is in front of us immediately, we doubt. But we can be sure that when we ask God to meet our needs according to His will, we can thank Him in advance because he will provide.

Suggested prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your sure provision in our lives. Help my trust in you be so great that there is no room for doubt. When I face sad or trying times, help me, even then, to be an example of faith, gratitude, and compassion to others. Thank you for always hearing and answering my prayer. In Jesus Christ name, amen.
