FAITH THAT IS SEEN

Mark 2:5, “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”

MATTHEW 9: 1-8, MARK 2: 1-12, LUKE 5: 17-26

Faith can be seen. Just as Jesus explained to Nicodemus in John 3:8, faith is like the wind. Faith itself is invisible, but saving faith is always accompanied by corresponding actions which can be seen (James. 2:17-26).

It was not only the faith of the paralytic that Jesus saw, but also that of his four friends (Mk. 2:3). This demonstrates the effect our intercession in faith can have upon others. Jesus saw their faith. However, although our faith released on behalf of others is powerful, it is not a substitute for their faith. It is simply a help. The person who is to receive the miracle must have some degree of faith, also. Even Jesus could not produce healing in those who would not believe (Mk. 6:5-6). In this instance, it is evident that the paralytic himself also had faith because he was not resistant to the four who brought him; and he got up and obeyed Jesus’ command (v. 7) without having to be helped.

Why did Jesus minister forgiveness of sins to this man instead of meeting the obvious need he had of healing? God is more concerned with the spiritual health of a man than his physical health. Or, Jesus, through a word of knowledge, may have perceived that the real heart-cry of this man was to be reconciled to God. In some instances (not all – Jn. 9:2-3), sickness was a direct result of sin. Therefore, Jesus would be dealing with the very root of the paralysis. Whether or not this man’s paralysis was a direct result of sin, sin in our life (that has not been forgiven) will allow Satan to keep us in his bondage. Through Jesus’ act of forgiving this man’s sins, the paralytic was free to receive all the blessings of God, which certainly included healing.

The point Jesus is making is that both forgiveness of sins and the healing of the paralytic are humanly impossible. If Jesus could do one of these things, He could do the other. He then healed the paralytic showing that He did, indeed, have the authority to forgive sins. In Jesus’ day, the people were more inclined to accept His willingness to heal than they were to accept His forgiveness of sins without the keeping of the law. Today, the church world basically accepts forgiveness of sins, but doubts His willingness to heal. They were never meant to be separated. Believe and receive all God has for you today.

If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous

READ: Zechariah 3:1-5

I have removed your iniquity from you. —Zechariah 3:4

The Devil and Daniel Webster” is a short story by Stephen Vincent Benet. In it, Jabez Stone, a New England farmer, has such “bad luck” that he sells his soul to the devil to become prosperous. Eventually, the devil comes to collect Jabez’s debt. But the eminent lawyer Daniel Webster is called in to defend him. Through a skillful series of arguments, Webster wins the case against the devil, and Jabez is saved from perdition.

Of course, this tale is only fiction. But the Bible records a vision in which Satan accuses a believer before the Divine Judge. Joshua, a high priest, stands before God. As a picture of his personal sin and guilt, the priest is dressed in filthy clothing. Nearby, Satan accuses Joshua. But the Angel of the Lord rebukes him and says to Joshua: “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes” (Zech. 3:4).

Only God can make a sinner acceptable to Him. And the New Testament tells us how: “If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1).

Do you feel unworthy to enter the presence of God? Remember, as Christians, our Savior’s blood has cleansed us, and Christ Himself represents us. —Dennis Fisher

The power of God can turn a heart
From evil and the power of sin;
The love of God can change a life
And make it new and cleansed within. —Fasick

Justification means our guilt gone, Christ’s righteousness given.

In Christ Jesus we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
Ephesians 1:7

Imagine crowding into a small house to hear Jesus speak and standing on your tiptoes to see over the heads of the people in front of you.

All of a sudden a hole opens in the roof above your head and a man on a cot is lowered down. Jesus forgives the man’s sins and heals him miraculously (Luke 5:17-26).

The friends of the crippled man in this passage do a lot to get Jesus’ attention. They carry him to the house where Jesus is teaching.

Since they can’t get close enough to Jesus, they climb onto the roof and lower the man down so that he can be healed. If you read the passage carefully, you see that it wasn’t all the work they did to get him there that brought forgiveness to the paralytic; the text says, “When Jesus saw their faith, he said to him, ‘Friend, your sins are forgiven'” (Luke 5:20).

No amount of work will earn God‘s forgiveness. It is given to you by God’s grace through your faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Take a minute right now to give Him glory for granting you forgiveness, through His abundant grace.

Give Every Day a Chance. Forgiveness!

"Forgiveness" by Carlos Latuff.

Give Every Day a Chance. Forgiveness!

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:20

A friend shared with me the fate of a hoarding grandmother.  She refused to part with anything.

She couldn’t rest because junk covered her bed.  She lost treasures because they were obscured by mountains of trash. Jewelry, photographs, favorite books—all were hidden.

No rest.  No treasures.

Squirrel away your hurts and expect the same.  Or clean your house and give the day a fresh chance!

“But” you say, “the hurt is so deep.”

I know, they took so much.

But why let them keep taking from you?  Haven’t they stolen enough?

“But, I’ve been so angry for so long.”

Forgiveness won’t come overnight.  But you can take the baby steps in the direction of grace.  Forgive in phases.

Quit cussing the perpetrator’s name.  Start praying for him; understand her.

Give the grace you’ve been given!  Make it a day changer!

When you are facing problems and frustrations in your life; it is so easy to start to criticize God and wonder if He really cares for you. It is during times like these that you need to guard your heart and not allow doubt and fear to enter. Fill yourself with the Word and promises of God so that when the difficult times come your heart is filled with God’s truth and His plan for that situation and challenge.

Forgiven people forgive people

Do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and long-suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? Romans 2:4

Jesus says—Give the grace you’ve been given!

Romans 2:4 says God is kind to you so you will change your hearts and lives.

We’re not to be like the unchanged wife. Before her conversion to Christ, she endlessly nagged, picked on, and berated her husband. When she became a Christian, nothing changed. One might question if she was truly born again to start with.

Forgiven people will forgive others. And they’ll be grateful—because gratitude is the joy of the forgiven servant.

We all choose what lives inside us.

Make it a day changer! Choose forgiveness!

Hallelujah! We now live in a time when all our debts to God have been cancelled and all the things the devil stole from us have been returned.

OUR DEBTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED

Luke 4:19, “To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

LUKE 4:16-30

This scripture had been written prophetically by the prophet Isaiah about 650 years prior to this time. It was read in Jewish synagogues thousands of times. But the one this verse was speaking of had never spoken it before. With this pronouncement, Jesus began the year of Jubilee.

The Year of Jubilee was described in Leviticus 25. It was a year when everyone left their fields unworked and kept a sabbath unto the Lord. The Lord gave the people a miraculous provision the year before this jubilee started that sustained them for three years until their crops could once again be harvested.

This jubilee was different than the other sabbatical years in that every debt was cancelled. All property was returned to its original owner and anyone who had been sold into slavery was set free. It was a year of new beginnings.

Jesus proclaimed a spiritual jubilee. We now live in a time when all our debts to God have been cancelled and all the things the devil stole from us have been returned. Even our slavery to the devil has come to an end through the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a time for rejoicing.

Jesus is our jubilee.

Jesus is real. Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed

Jesus is real. Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed (John 20:29)

A certain man hated everything about Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. His wife was a Christian but he wouldn’t let her go to church. One day, his wife went for a crusade close by, without telling him. He got furious and stormed the venue, combing through the crowd in search of his wife. Suddenly, a loud cry rent the air and everyone turned to see what had happened. They saw the man shouting, “He’s real! He’s real! Jesus is real!!!”  Apparently, Jesus had appeared to him and let him know sins were forgiven.

It took an appearance of Jesus to make the man believe, but he didn’t have to wait to experience something that spectacular for him to believe. It’s like the story of Thomas who didn’t believe the Lord had risen from the dead until He appeared to him (John 20:26-29).

You don’t have to wait to experience the spectacular before you believe God loves you and wants to fill your life with goodness and with benefits. The only evidence you need is His Word. Remember, the Bible says,Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Don’t wait to have your pocket or bank account filled with a lot of money before you declare your prosperity in Christ Jesus! Don’t wait for the symptoms to disappear before you proclaim your healing! Declare that you have life, health, peace and joy NOW!, and your faith will produce results.

Confession

I’m a new creature in Christ Jesus, awakened to the fatherhood of God. All things are mine because I’m Abraham’s seed. I look through the eyes of faith and see my glorious inheritance in Christ Jesus! Amen!

God Is Still Ever Ready To Forgive You Your Sins and Wash You Clean

“And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.” (Chronicles 33:12)

The story of Manasseh in 2 Chronicles 33:1-17, shows us what God’s mercy is all about. The mercy of God defies age, height, colour and most amazingly the enormity of man’s sin.

Manasseh was one of the proudest kings in the Bible. A man anointed to lead God’s people that ended up practising soothsaying, necromancy and witchcraft. He shed so much innocent blood. He built graven images and evil alters in the temple of the Lord. The scripture says Manasseh did abominable things even more wickedly than all the Amorites and the heathen nations. Judgement came upon Jerusalem and Manasseh.

Manasseh was taken captive to Babylon. The amazing thing here is when Manasseh humbled himself, the Lord had mercy on him and He delivered and restored Manasseh back to his throne in Judah.

It is very instructive to note at this juncture that no matter what you may have done in time past, God is still ever ready to forgive you your sins and wash you clean. What you only need to do is to let go of your pride and allow God’s mercy to reach your state of humility. He is waiting for you even right now!

God is ever ready to forgive a humble heart!

A broken a contrite heart God will not despise!

LEARN TO FORGIVE.

William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) - The F...

Unforgiveness
will rob you of your effectiveness. It will stop your prayers from being
answered and this is one of the reasons the Lord Jesus instructed us to forgive
before we pray. Thus, to be unforgiving is to walk outside the Will of God.

Unforgiveness
will cause bitterness to spring up in your heart, which in turn will defile you
and those around you (Hebrew 12:14, 15). In such as atmosphere of bitterness
and strife there will be confusion and all manner of evil work (James 3:14-16),
which of course hinders the flow of the miraculous.

He also said
in John 15:7, “If ye abide in me, and my Words abide in you, ye shall ask what
ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” If you don’t forgive those who have
wronged you, you’re not abiding in Him nor are His Words abiding in you.

Remember,
the Lord Jesus wouldn’t have said we should forgive if He thought we couldn’t
do so. You have the God given ability not only to forgive, but also to love
those that have wronged you, no matter how painful or difficult it is, because
that is the Will of God for us!

Forgive your
husband, your wife, your brother, your sister, your parents and your friend;
forgive your boss, your colleagues and others. Forgive those who have wronged
you, no matter how much it hurts. Forgive them now and let God perform a
miracle in your life!

PRAYER

Father, in accordance with Your Word,
I forgive all those who have offended me. I release them from every blame and
bitterness that I have harboured against them, and I begin now to walk in love
towards them in the Name of Jesus Christ My Lord and Saviour, Amen!
