By His stripes I am healed

1 Corinthians 11:26
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.

Some time ago, one of our church members developed deep vein thrombosis (DVT) while on a flight to Israel. As she was disembarking from the plane, she collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital. But on the way there, her heart stopped beating. Apparently, the blood clot in her leg had gone to her heart, causing it to stop beating. The doctors managed to revive her heart after a few attempts, but she remained unconscious.

When I arrived at the hospital with some of my church leaders a few days later, I was told that her condition had worsened. She was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). My leaders and I decided to partake of the Holy Communion in the ICU, proclaiming that Jesus had borne all her diseases, including DVT, and that His blood had already redeemed her from all curses, including diseases and death.

The next day, she regained consciousness! Her recovery was so supernatural that after a week of observation, she was discharged and was soon touring Israel with the next tour group that arrived there.

In another case, a church member’s elderly mother underwent a series of operations and her condition deteriorated to the point where the doctor told the family to prepare for the worst. The family took Holy Communion in the ICU. They even put a small crumb in their mother’s mouth and poured a little grape juice in. On the third day, something miraculous happened — their mother regained consciousness, got well and was discharged not too long after!

You see, each time you eat the bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death for you. You discern that the Lord’s body was broken so that your body can be whole. You discern that His healthy body has borne your diseases and pains, so that your body can be well. So when you eat the bread, you say that by His stripes you are healed. And when you drink the cup, you are drinking the life of Jesus which is in His blood.

Beloved, the life of Jesus is pain-free, disease-free and poverty-free. It attracts the favor and blessings of God. And because you have that life in you, it causes good things to happen to you!

There is always something better for you in Christ Jesus

Until the Spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field , and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

This Scripture reveals one of the most beautiful evidence of the presence and influence of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. You become fruitful and productive when the Spirit of God comes upon your life. He brings in an anointing that affects your life and causes things to work.

Ephesians_2-10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Things may go bad and cause your life to be a wilderness, but that is until the Spirit is poured upon you from high. It is the Spirit that changes things. I wish many people would understand what the anointing does. The anointing of God’s Spirit has to do with the presence of God. So, in the opening Scripture when the Prophet Isaiah said, “Until the Spirit be poured upon us from on high,” he meant, “ until the anointing comes upon us”

But we’re not those waiting for the anointing to come upon us. If you’ve received the Holy Spirit of God, then the Spirit has been poured upon you from on high. Thus you don’t need to struggle to be successful, fruitful or productive.

Acts_1-8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

You may look at your life and there’s so much unproductivity; you may look at your home and it’s like a desert; your finances may be in zero, and your health deteriorating by the day but, if you have the Holy Spirit, water will spring up from your desert! You will experience productivity and growth in every area of your life. You will move forward. There will be a bursting forth on your right hand and on your left.

You may say, “ But I’m not experiencing dryness, and my life is not unproductive.” Well, thank God for you, for there’s something better: your fruitful field can become a forest! This means you can be more productive spiritually and financially. Your life can affect more people for Jesus. You can move from experiencing divine healing to divine health. There’s always something better for you in Christ! Glory to God! Hallelujah!

Prayer:

Dear Lord, You have established me to be fruitful and productive in life! I’m like a tree by the rivers of water. I’m fruitful in every good work, even as I increase in the knowledge of God. Amen!

I See Men As Trees, Walking. Perseverance In Prayer Is The Key To Overcoming Satan

Mark 8:24-25, “And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.”

It was unusual for Jesus to inquire about the results of His ministry as He did in verse 23. It was even more unusual that Jesus laid hands on this man a second time. This is the only example in the New Testament where Jesus had to minister to any need more than once to affect a total healing.

 

Many people request things from God and then look at their circumstances to see if God answered their prayer. That is walking by sight and not by faith. If they can’t “see” God’s answer, then they pray again asking for the same thing. This is not the way Jesus taught us to pray and receive. We can be certain that Jesus didn’t lay hands on this man a second time because He thought His Father hadn’t heard Him the first the time. Since the man received partial sight, it is evident that God’s healing power was at work in him. Jesus was not petitioning His Father again for healing.

 

Through His spirit, Jesus knew that unbelief was hindering a perfect manifestation of God’s power in this man, and He simply gave him another “dose” of the anointing power of God. Satan may hinder, but cannot overcome someone who continues resisting him. Believe that you received when you prayed and continue to apply the power of God. Press in such a degree that you can confront anything that is contrary to what you have asked and overcome it. Perseverance in prayer is the key to overcoming Satan – not God.
